Abyss Summoner of The Apocalypse

Chapter 1424: A murderer hiding in the darkness

It would be a lie to say that Chen Feng is not jealous.

He had indeed guessed that Bahamut had a backup plan, but he didn't expect that the opponent's backup plan was actually a Time Dragon. As a giant dragon that can rival a god, the value of the Time Dragon is self-evident.

What's even more terrifying is that the Time Dragon has the ability to travel through time. Time is a concept that is even more complicated and complex than the dimensional wall. Therefore, even if the Time Dragon is restricted by some dimensional walls, its strength is still stronger than those of the same level.

Bahamut was able to find the other party, no wonder the other party was so confident, it turned out that everything was because of such a powerful helper.

Thinking of this, Chen Feng finally let go of the burden in his heart, and then stretched out his right hand: "Happy cooperation."

Bahamut had been in the human world for a long time, so he knew what this meant. Without much hesitation, he also extended his hand: "Happy cooperation."

"If you're not in a hurry, you can stay here for a while." They have completed the contract with each other, and from now on, they have become allies for a short period of time.

"Okay." Chen Feng nodded: "If possible, I would like to arrange some rooms first. I want to rest for a while."

Bahamut nodded, and then arranged for his men to bring Chen Feng and Mask to the room.

"I do not understand."

After Bahamut left, Mask suddenly spoke.

"What don't you understand? Don't you understand why I should cooperate with the other party?" Chen Feng said with a smile on his face.

Mask nodded. "We could have been more direct. I can sense that he has divinity in him. Rather than helping him defeat the enemy, killing him is the best option."

Musk is worthy of being Musk. He inadvertently revealed his tyrannical nature. Just after forming an alliance, he tried to trick Chen Feng into killing him and taking away his divinity!

However, Chen Feng did not accept Musk's proposal. He just shook his head and said, "You have just arrived in this land and are still unfamiliar with everything here. Naturally, you don't understand the situation. This place is different from the abyss. Compared with brutality, cooperation can achieve a win-win situation."

"Cooperation?"

Mask muttered to himself, but still shook his head: "I still don't understand. Compared to this meaningless cooperation, killing is easier."

Chen Feng did not argue with Musk. They were from two different camps and it was normal for them to have different suggestions.

However, compared to these useless things, Chen Feng's attention was more focused on the mastermind behind the attack on Mask. The other party was attacked by some ancient evil beasts, among which there were even traces of gods.

This had to attract Chen Feng's attention.

After all, according to the information given by Rose, the channel for him to become stronger is the abyss.

Thinking of this, Chen Feng said, "Don't you have any idea about the identity of the attacker?"

Mask didn't expect Chen Feng to ask her this. She hesitated for a moment, then shook her head: "I didn't remember it before, but I don't know if it's because I changed my body, and the sealed memory has been loosened to a certain extent. I remember some of the gods' faces."

"But do you want to know this?" Musk said at the end, suddenly looking up and asking.

The less you know about the secrets of the God's Residence, the better. This will also be beneficial to you. However, after Chen Feng tried to become stronger, he already had a certain tolerance, so he nodded without any hesitation and said, "Go ahead."

Mask fell into some kind of recollection: "In addition to the ancient evil beast, there were also two gods who attacked me, one of whom was Sandakol."

"Shandakol?" Chen Feng repeated.

"Well, do you understand Him?" Listening to Chen Feng's repetition, Mask asked with some confusion.

Even though Chen Feng is a human, for some reason, Mask always feels that he knows a lot about the abyss. He was even the first one to guess Bahamut's identity. This makes Mask a little unconvinced that the other party is a human!

"Shandakol?" Chen Feng muttered to himself, and searched through the information about the other party in his mind.

Shandakel (God of Travel and Exploration, Faerun's pantheon, lesser divine power), also known as: Wind Rider, Helping Hand.

Shandakel is a taciturn, lonely god who demonstrates his ideals through actions. He seems kind but stern, and sometimes shows a humorous side. As he has been actively descending to the mortal world to recruit believers in recent years, the size of the church has gradually grown. The wind rider wears a dark cloak that flutters in the wind, a light leather armor, and a pair of boots that never touch the ground. He always holds a heavy two-handed sword and appears in an emperor-like manner. Although the tall and handsome Shandakel moves silently, he is always surrounded by swirling and whistling winds.

The priests of Shandakel pray for divine spells every morning after the wind changes direction (due to rising temperatures). The holy day in the church is April 15th every year, which believers call the "Wind Rider's Day". At dawn on that day, Shandakel will guide his priests to cast "wind riding" on themselves.

They recover and land (safely) at dusk - usually in an area they have never visited before. Shanda Kor's priests also perform rituals for specific times and conditions - whenever there is a significant shift in wind direction, they offer a brief prayer;

Whenever they discover an unknown area (such as a valley, lake, or island), they will also erect a small stone throne near the first discovery site and mark it with the holy symbol of Shanda Kor (if conditions permit, they will also use the "Stone Shape" magic to build a shrine for wind riders). Shanda Kor's priests are usually multi-class rangers or windrunners.

Dogma:

Spread the teachings of the Helping Hand throughout the world by example, and strive to spread his teachings to travelers, especially those seeking new and unknown lands and trade opportunities. Do your best to discover and purify his ancient shrines. Ride the flowing wind and follow it wherever it goes. Trust the Helping Hand and help those in need. Find all the treasures that the land and sea hold. Travel to distant places and be the first to see the rising sun, the towering mountaintops, and the fertile valleys. Always let your steps lead to regions that have never been visited.

Priest and Temple.

Clerics of Shandakoor often leave their homeland to serve as guides and escorts for travelers, trade caravans, and prospecting expeditions. Many members of the church serve as guides for adventuring parties or become explorers themselves. In addition, a few members have joined the Harpers. Regardless, they try their best to find or frequently visit Shandakoor's abandoned shrines (especially the magnificent temple in Myth Drannor) until they have enough resources to rebuild the shrine there. Since Shandakoor included "Portals" in his jurisdiction, he has also begun to assign priests to find and confirm portals in various places in the continent of Faerûn to facilitate trade and exploration.

Shandakel likes his followers to build altars to worship him. Most of these altars are located in extremely remote (or even uninhabited) areas. Most of Shandakel's altars are built on a high stone platform, with a stone chair (or throne) placed on it, and surrounded by one or more perforated stone pillars - when the wind blows, it will make a sound. Most of these altars are located in the megalithic areas of the Moon Sea and Cormyr, and some have witnessed thousands of years of history.

There are few formal temples in the city of Shanda Kor, and as a result, there are not many believers in the city. Because his priests love to wander, the priests stationed in the temple are often replaced - whenever a new member arrives, the original priest will go out to explore.

Clerics of Shandakel usually wear dark cloaks and wilderness attire, often preferring silver and dark colors. Many also wear holy symbols on the back of their gloves (whether leather or iron).

It can be said that Sandakol is a relatively kind god. Although he is not as kind as Bahamut, he is definitely not malicious. It is hard to imagine that he actually cooperated with the ancient evil beast to besiege Mask.

"Where is the remaining deity?"

Watching Chen Feng in deep thought, Mask became more and more curious about the other party's mind. Although "He" did not master the ability to read minds now, it was not difficult to tell from the other party's appearance that the other party really knew some information about the gods.

"Which one is left?"

Sweat broke out on Mask's cheeks, and he was obviously recalling some unpleasant scenes. This lasted for a few seconds before he finally said the name.

"Oruel!"

Musk seemed to hate this name very much, even gritting his teeth. When he said the other person's name, his expression became more ferocious.

Chen Feng retrieved the relevant knowledge.

Auril is a fickle, vain, evil goddess whose heart is as cold as ice and whose followers worship her out of fear. She has no regard for true love, noble sentiments, or honor. She delights in toying with mortals who cross her, trapping them in blizzards and torturing them to madness with visions of warmth and cozy shelter before they freeze to death. Her beauty is both cold and deadly, like a gorgeous flower carved from arctic ice - just like her heart.

The church of Auril is a loose organization, and most of its members roam alone. They work to spread the power of the harsh winter to make everyone fear the power of the goddess and her agents (and weaken the power of her enemies). They also accumulate personal wealth and power in two ways - accomplishing tasks in the harsh winter that others are unable to perform;

Or use magic to protect those who obey them or pay protection fees from the threat of winter. Auril's priests will scatter some of their property on the snow when a blizzard comes, or throw it into the cracks of glaciers or frozen rivers in winter as a tribute to the goddess.

This terrible god always likes to use killing and torture to make his subordinates feel afraid. Many believers would rather commit suicide than endure the torture of the other party after making mistakes.

Under Auril's leadership, those under his command became even more extreme.

Of course, like all believers of gods, they have their own carnival time.

The winter solstice is the holiest night of the year for Auril's priests, who spend the night dancing on the ice in revelry (and recruiting new members). Priests also perform fervent rites at the beginning and end of winter to call down howling blizzards, called "Winter's Coming" and "The Last Blizzard," respectively.

To become a priest of Auril, one must pass a trial ceremony called "Embracing the Frost" - the one who accepts the trial must first draw the holy symbol of the Frost Maiden on his body, and then run all night in a blizzard wearing only a pair of boots and a thin coat (and cannot rely on any magical protection) - as long as he survives until dawn, Auril will accept the trial as his priest. Many priests and druids of the Frost Maiden will multi-time as divine followers or elemental lords.

Of course, in such an extreme environment, only a few believers survived.

Auril is a member of the "Raging Gods" and serves Talos (the god of storms and destruction) along with Umberlee, and Malar (the god of bloody hunting). As Talos has been stealing her power in recent years, Auril makes the winters in the North colder and harsher every year in an effort to make up for the lost power (and vent her anger).

She maintains a certain degree of friendship with Umberlee, but her relationship with Mala is extremely bad. In addition, in recent years, she has also begun to slowly absorb the power of the sleeping Ulutiru (the god of glaciers) (she carefully controls the rate of absorption to prevent the target from waking up), and plans to continue to use his name to grant divine magic to his followers after she has completely absorbed the Eversleeper (another name for Ulutiru).

Dogma:

Cover all land with ice. Put out fires whenever you see them. Surrender to the cold and wind; cut down all windbreaks, and punch holes in walls and roofs to welcome the "breath of the goddess." Walk in darkness away from the hated sun, lest the cold of Auril fade away. Remember to kill arctic creatures only when necessary - but kill all others without hesitation. Let all people of Faerun fear Auril. Sing praises to the cold goddess whenever the wind blows. Never harm or confront another cleric of the Frostmaiden.

This is a neutral evil deity. It is undoubtedly more evil than Sandakor, and the things it has done in the past are also more troublesome.

Musk couldn't possibly deceive himself. After all, that frustrated look couldn't be faked without experiencing life and death. But it was precisely because of this that Chen Feng felt a little bit thorny.

His subordinates are hated by so many gods

At this time, Chen Feng even had an idea that if he drove Musk away now, it would be slightly better for his future situation.
