Chapter 1113: Alterac Valley

Views:

In the original version of Alterac Valley, there was no such thing as reinforcements.

In that version, it is usually not the tactics that determine the outcome, but the number of people. Because there is no concept of reinforcements, the entire Okuyama battlefield is likely to be fought from day to night, and there is no concept of cross-server battlefields at that time. For a balanced server, there are not enough people to fight until midnight, so the winner will be decided.

Later versions of Alterac Valley carried out a series of reforms, mainly in two aspects:

The first is that the various complex mechanisms inside have been comprehensively weakened, including the removal of most neutral npcs, the weakening of the attributes of guards, and many powerful summonable npcs no longer appear.

The second is to add the concept of reinforcements, so that the length of the Okuyama battle in each round is under control.

On the whole, this kind of change tends to speed up the rhythm of the battlefield. After all, a battlefield can't be played from day to night without a result. It's hard to say how good the game experience is.

Moreover, the honor rewards on the battlefield mainly come from the key nodes of occupying strongholds and winning. The alliance and the tribe are in an infinite stalemate on the plains of battle. Neither side can get too many honor points, which is a serious waste of time.

In the original design, Okuyama's design idea was a large-scale interactive pve game, in which the pvp content only took up a part. Players had to complete various tasks and have a key impact on the battlefield through many key npcs.

For example, after the player rescues the commander of the air force, he will turn in various items. After handing over a sufficient amount, he will hear a roar from the air force and fly to the opponent's airspace to start bombing.

Or the player captures his own animals and kills the enemy animals (sheep for the alliance, wolf for the tribe) in the stable manager, and then he can call his own cavalry to charge.

In addition, you can call special forces to support, upgrade the defense of the army, and even summon the ultimate unit to dominate the battlefield.

After handing in enough alliance soldiers' blood or storm crystals, the druids will come to the Conquest Plains, and players must assist them in the summoning ceremony to summon Ivers, the king of the forest, or Lockhora, the king of ice and snow.

That is to say, that version of Okuyama Battlefield is not a simple battle between Alliance and Horde players, but to rely on many means to improve the combat power of friendly forces in order to win a normal war.

Of course, it sounds good, but in fact, as the version changes, some problems appear.

Because it takes a lot of time to complete these tasks, take the mechanism of summoning cavalry as an example. Players need to disperse to catch wolves and kill sheep. After collecting various items, they have to run back to hand them in, so there is a contradiction:

If the strength of the npc is relatively weak, the players on the opposite side will directly gather to pull out your sentry tower, and then you are still collecting things, and then you will be pierced by a wave; if the strength of the npc is strong, both sides will try their best to collect resources , the battlefield becomes a battle between npcs, and the time of this battlefield is also doubled, which runs counter to the goal of speeding up the pace of the battlefield.

So in the end, these complicated mechanisms basically became uninterested. Both the Alliance and the Horde tended to fast-paced offensive and defensive battles. Every player is very important. If you divide the hands to collect these things, it is tantamount to slowing down the pace. up.

Therefore, this version of Alterac Valley produced by Chen Mo still retains the npc mechanism, but adds the concept of reinforcements. After all, if it is really a battle that lasts all night, it is meaningless. For example, the alliance is obviously at a disadvantage, and then they stick to the bridge. As a result, neither side can win. It sounds very passionate, but it is not the same in the fight.

Chen Mo saw that there were only about 100 reinforcements left in the alliance, and there were more than 400 left in the tribe, which was too miserable.

It's not that the alliance is weak. There are many reasons for the tribe's dominance on the battlefield in the early stage. Because considering the beauty of the tribe, most of the players who choose the tribe at the beginning are the kind of pure men who like to kill people. The appearance party and the scenery party generally will not choose the tribe. So the cohesion of the tribe is higher at the beginning.

Of course, in the later version the alliance dominated, so that the island of conquest became the island of the alliance, which is another story.

Obviously, this battle is a battle of disparity in strength between the two sides. The alliance lost a lot of towers very ignorantly at the beginning, so that now they can only retreat to the bridge. The commander obviously doesn't know much about this battlefield, but fortunately, he is quite conscientious, and keeps swiping the screen, hoping that everyone will hurry back to the bridge to defend.

The bridge is easy to defend, because the terrain of the alliance is loose on the outside and tight on the inside. The defense line of one tower and two towers can be said to be riddled with holes, but the bridge is absolutely easy to defend and difficult to attack. Anyway, all kinds of blizzards, fire rain, and long-range skills were thrown on the bridge crazily, let alone a tribe, it was difficult for even a fly to fly over.

The two sides were at such a stalemate, but although the alliance defended the bridge, because of the existence of the reinforcement mechanism, the tribe traded three heads for one head of the alliance, and the tribe won.

Chen Mo sent a message on the battlefield channel: "Give me the leader of the battlefield."

He was afraid that the current battlefield leader might not see it, so he checked it twice.

As a result, the title was changed to him in the next second. Obviously, the previous battlefield leader was eager to come out and take the blame personally.

Chen Mo quickly divided up the current team. The thieves and druids were all thrown into teams 7 and 8. The teams in front basically focused on job matching, ensuring that each team had a ranged job and a healer job.

"Everyone listen to my command. The 1234 team will continue to guard the bridge. The 56 team will rush to the bridge with me to cover the 78 team. The 78 team sneaked and touched the tribe's defense line for me. Don't fight anyone you meet. Keep giving me Sneak to the middle of the battle plain, stay in stealth and wait for my next order."

"Still outside, if you are a stealth professional, go directly to the plains, if not, come back quickly. Hurry up, move."

As Chen Mo said, he typed the tactical arrangement into the battlefield channel in text.

It has to be said that the title of battlefield leader is still useful. Most alliances are already waiting to lose, because they feel that they can't win if they fight like this, and they can't retreat if they retreat (there will be a deserter debuff if they retreat). Now that such a strong command has appeared, they all Started to move spontaneously.

Although many people were still lazy and didn't know what they were doing, at least the alliance players who were standing guard by the bridge all assembled according to Chen Mo's request.

Now the tribe has occupied the Stormpike cemetery opposite the bridge, and the resurrection points of the two sides are very close, separated by a bridge. Therefore, Chen Mo couldn't take the risk of going out with all his strength. If the first wave didn't rush down and was caught by the tribe, then even if Chen Mo could play again, it would be hopeless.

Most of the stealth workers of Team 78 are at home, and a few have sneaked out and scattered in various places. The others were all waiting behind the bridge for Chen Mo's order, waiting for Team 56 to charge forward, and they sneaked past while the tribe's defense line was being pulled.

Although I don't know if it's still useful to resist now, but since it's already like this, let's try it.
