Chapter 4: The Spanish force conquered Mexico

Views:

From 1519 to 1521 AD, the Spanish adventurer Cortez conquered Mexico by force. Before the Spanish entered the Americas, the inhabitants of Mexico were Aztecs. They have entered a class society, but still have a strong remnant of the primitive commune system.

In 1519, the Spanish nobleman Cortes led a team of more than 800 people and set off from Santo Domingo on the island of Haiti and entered Mexico. The leader of Mexico, Menti Zuma, did not organize resistance, but graciously treated the Spanish invaders and gave Cortes valuable gifts. However, his hospitality aroused the greed of the aggressors. Seeing that Mengti Zuma was weak and could be deceived, he used the conflict between Meng Ti Zuma and some local chiefs to force these chiefs to yield to him and refused to some. The surrendered chiefs and tribes launched attacks and massacred them. After a brutal looting, the Spaniards occupied Mexico City. The local people resolutely resisted and drove the Spanish invaders out of Mexico City.

In 1521, Cortes led the Spaniards to make a comeback, turning Mexico into a Spanish colony.
