On a beautiful morning in April 1607, Captain Niuport led three ships carrying 120 colonists to land in the Zissabic Bay in North America. They found that there was green grass, towering trees, and the water was clear and lovely. According to a fellow captain Boss, there are magnificent forests, flowers and plants, beautiful strawberries, flocks of wild animals, and turkeys flying all over the sky. They are the colonial team of the London company in England. The London Company was established in the United Kingdom in 1606 and obtained the right to establish an immigration zone between 34° and 41° north latitude on the Atlantic coast of North America. They obtained a charter from King James I of England and enjoyed the rights to distribute land, collect taxes, and defend the colony.
On May 15, 1603, they drove into the Hampton Waterway and established James City here to commemorate King James I of England. The newly built Jamestown has a fort, a chapel, a warehouse and some huts. The following year Captain Smith was elected chairman, and he became the de facto ruler of the city. Jamestown gradually expanded into a colony of Virginia to commemorate Queen Elizabeth of England, the queen's nickname, Fergie Elizabeth. The colony of Virginia gradually expanded, reaching nearly 2,000 people by 1619. They started to grow tobacco.
In 1619, a ship carrying 90 women arrived and they became the wives of the colonists. On July 30, 1619, the first legislative assembly on the American continent was held in the Jamestown Chapel. One governor, six councilors, and two citizens were elected to create a representative colonial government. In August of the same year, the Dutch slave ship arrived and brought 20 black slaves.
The charter of the London Company was cancelled in 1624, and the colony of Virginia became a colony of the British Crown.
