If the goal you are pursuing is not the real way to reach the highest state, the result will inevitably be no more than a thousand miles away.

It's common for the world to equate the art of war with swordsmanship, and it's not a fuss. But in my art of war, both theory and practice are fundamentally different from this. The reason why I want to elaborate on the art of war of each genre in the Scroll of Wind is to allow the world to comprehend the real art of war in comparison.

The Sora Scroll is the fifth and final volume of the book. The original meaning of "emptiness" is no, it has no beginning and no end, no inside and no outside, omnipresent, so this volume is called "emptiness". Blue is better than blue from blue. When you have some enlightenment, but you are not bound by this enlightenment, this is "emptiness". Only those who can reach this state can play the role of the art of war, understand everything, make moves at the most appropriate time, and control the enemy with one move. This is the state of "emptiness". In the Sora Scroll, I will tell you how to move from the natural way to the true way.

The origin of "Two Swords"

As a samurai, from generals to ordinary soldiers, they wear two swords. In the past, they were called tachi and katana-tachi and sword, respectively; now they are called katana and wakizashi-tachi and wakizashi. There is no need to discuss why the samurai wears double swords here. Throughout Japan, regardless of whether the samurai understands why they wear double swords, they will wear them like this. It is for this reason that I call my genre of warfare "the second sword style."

As for weapons such as guns, we usually classify them as big weapons, and these are also weapons used by samurai.

To learn the "two-day first-rate", you must first learn the skills of mastering dual knives: hold a long knife in one hand, and a short knife in the other. When your life is hanging by a thread, you will understand the need to make full use of all the weapons on your body. No samurai would give up his weapons and sit still. However, when you hold the double knives tightly, it is a fatal thing if you can't use them freely. Therefore, I will teach you how to hold a pair of knives at the beginning. The purpose of this is to make you accustomed to swinging and slashing with one hand.

For a large weapon like a gun, it will not give you any choice, you must hold it with two hands. On the other hand, swords and daggers can be used easily and flexibly with only one hand.

If you are riding a horse, or in a fast running, or in a muddy wetland, or on a rugged mountain road, or in a crowded crowd, using a long knife with both hands can be a sensation There is no benefit to annoying things.

When you hold a bow, spear, or other weapon in your right hand, you have only one hand free to hold the knife. Therefore, holding the knife with two hands is not the best choice, and it is not recommended to use it as a last resort.

However, if you want to hold the knife with one hand, its power will be difficult to guarantee to cut down the enemy. At this time, you will naturally hold the knife with both hands. Because of this, I don't recommend that you do too much practice with both hands holding a knife. The essence of "two knives" is to practice how to hold knives with one hand, so that people can skillfully handle knives with one hand.

At the beginning of practicing one-handed knives, most people feel that the knives are too heavy and not easy to master. But isn't it easy to do everything first and then difficult? Everything is difficult at the beginning. At the beginning of learning, bows and arrows are not easy to shoot, and long spears are not easy to use. However, when you get started, you will find that everything becomes easier, and the same is true for learning one-handed swordsmanship. Once you have mastered the skill of using a knife, you will soon discover that everything is that simple.

To overemphasize that vigorous chopping is not the correct way to use a knife, I will elaborate on it in the scroll of water. The use of knives should be adapted to local conditions. Long knives are suitable for open terrain; short knives are required for narrow and cramped terrain. This must be fully understood before learning the knife.

In my "two swords style", it is the same whether you win with a big sword or a short sword. Therefore, I think that too much sword can be long or short. All in all, the core of "Two Days First Class" is the spirit of winning. No matter what weapon or method is used, the one that can win is the most appropriate, and winning is the most important.

When you go to a meeting single-handedly and face a group of enemies, double-swords are the best choice, which is more effective than single-swords. If you are determined to catch the opponent alive, double knives are also a good choice.

Words can never explain this better than practice. However, after you understand the true meaning of the art of war, all of this will be self-explanatory. To do this, you must practice and study hard.

Common sense of art of war

In modern society, people often refer to masters who use swords as strategists. However, the titles of masters who use other weapons are different. Archers are called archers, musket masters are called musketeers, and spear masters are called pike masters, and they are all named directly after weapons.

If you follow the same principle, a master of kendo should be called a sword master or fencer. Because bows and arrows, muskets, spears, etc. can all be used by warriors, the theory discussing them should belong to the art of war. However, the art of war that people often talk about refers specifically to the sword technique. Because everything in the entire society is under the rule of the sword, it is because of this that the sword technique is called the art of war.

If you understand the true meaning of the sword, it is not a problem to use one as ten; and if a samurai can win in one-to-ten, then he can also win with hundreds of thousands and thousands of thousands. The truth behind this is the same. . Therefore, for my art of war, the effect is the same for one person and 10,000 people. All knowledge about the samurai belongs to the art of war, without any exception.

For the other ways, for example, Confucianism, Zen, tea, singing, etc. are all parallel to the way of samurai. Although they are side by side and not under each other, they all have something in common. Without extensive knowledge, it is difficult to comprehend one's own way. Therefore, it is very important for the art of war scholars to involve in all kinds of arts, to cultivate the mind and to make the art of war advance with the world.

How to choose a weapon

The weapons used by the samurai are various, each with its strengths and weaknesses, so you must choose the weapon that suits you according to local conditions.

If the place is narrow or close combat, the use of a sabre or a short knife is the most appropriate. In general, Taito is applicable in any situation. On the battlefield, the role played by the sword is weaker than that of the spear. Generally speaking, the vanguards are equipped with spears and the rear guards are equipped with swords. If the training is the same, the Pikemen still have certain advantages.

What kind of role the spear and the sword can play depends on the battlefield environment; if it is in a crowded place, the spear and the sword will not have much effect. As for capturing prisoners, they are not suitable. Both spears and swords are indispensable weapons in field warfare. If you have been learning how to use them indoors, you will always find yourself confused in some trivial details. It is difficult to master the correct method, and it is even more difficult to prove that the spear and the sword are useful. Up.

On the battlefield, the bow and arrow is also a very effective weapon, because it can provide effective cover for the pike team when launching an onslaught or retreating; and especially when the battle occurs in an open area, the bow and arrow are particularly effective. However, the range of the bow and arrow is limited. When the distance to the enemy exceeds forty feet, or when shooting from below the city to the tower during siege, the power of the bow and arrow is greatly weakened.

Today, it is not only the archery, but also many skills, which only bloom but rarely bear fruit. When it comes to participating in actual combat, these skills have become useless.

In street fighting, the power of the matchlock gun is unmatched by any other weapon. Even if the battle takes place in an open area, the matchlock can give full play to its power. However, once the battle develops into hand-to-hand combat, its power will not be as powerful as a knife.

Compared with the matchlock gun, the bow and arrow has an obvious advantage, that is, after the arrow is fired, its trajectory can be seen, but the matchlock gun is not. You can't see the trajectory of the bullet at all. This is a disadvantage of the matchlock gun.

The most important criteria for choosing a horse is good endurance and good temper.

The same is true for weapons. The horses must move like thunder and lightning, the swords and swords must be extremely sharp, the spears and swords must be powerful for assassination, and the bows and arrows and muskets must be hit with a hundred shots.

Therefore, no weapons can be preferred. Don't choose weapons to imitate others, choose the one that suits you according to your own situation. From commanders to ordinary soldiers, no one can prefer a certain weapon. The only basis for choosing a weapon is appropriateness and practicality.

The beat of the art of war

Everything in the world has its own rhythm, and the art of war also has its own rhythm. If you don't practice arduously, it is difficult for ordinary people to master the special rhythm of the art of war.

The rhythm of some things is exposed and obvious and can be mastered without much effort, such as dance, music, and so on.

The art of war has a beat, and its various components, such as archery, judo, equestrianism, etc., also have their own beats. Beats are everywhere, and learning about "arts" can't ignore the existence of their beats.

Even if it is empty, it has its own unique beat.

In the life of a samurai, whether it is when it is moving forward or drawing a sword, whether it is confident or downcast, it has its own rhythm.

In the business world, sometimes profitability and sometimes loss is also a rhythm.

Regardless of the industry, there are harmonious and discordant beats. It is a particularly important ability to be able to distinguish the rhythm of the rise and fall of things.

There are many kinds of beats contained in the art of war. To figure out the tempo of the art of war, we must first figure out what tempo is correct and what tempo is wrong, and we must be able to distinguish the correct tempo from various sizes and different speeds. Not only need to understand "air shot", but also have to understand "back shot".

These beats are unique to the art of war. If you don’t have a thorough understanding of the "backhand", there shouldn’t be any extravagant hopes for the understanding of the true meaning of the art of war.

According to the principle of warfare, if we can grasp the enemy's beat, and then use the beat to the enemy that will break their heads and shoot the "wisdom beat" from the "air beat", then we can defeat the enemy and win.

As long as you have perseverance and practice diligently in accordance with the "two-day first-class" outline I mentioned above, your mind will naturally become very broad. My art of war includes not only the swordsmanship between individuals, but also the science of battle formations. I have described them all in the five volumes of "earth", "water", "fire", "wind", and "emptiness".

To learn my art of war, you must abide by some principles, which are recorded below:

Knowing this, even if you singled out twenty or thirty enemies, you would win.

If you can keep the principles of warfare in mind through hard practice, not only can you defeat the enemy with your hands, but you can also defeat the enemy with your eyes. When your practice goes further and your skills are perfectly integrated with your body, then you can defeat the enemy with any part of your body. At the same time, as you deepen your art of warfare, your mind has also been well tempered, and you can even defeat the enemy with just your will without using your hands. Once your practice reaches this level, you will be invincible.

The same is true of the art of war applied to war. It is the way to victory for the people to live and work in peace and contentment; it is the way to win by using a lot of manpower; it is the way to win the country's territorial integrity, and it is the way to win for justice... that is, my way of war. No matter what kind of competition you are in, knowing how to be unbeaten to others, how to be self-reliant, and how to improve your own strength, these are all art of war.
