At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the dynasty will fall, and the military system will be chaotic. The above is for reference only. See "A Preliminary Study of the Border Soldiers and Foreign Guards System of the Ming Dynasty" in the second issue of "Journal of Tianjin University" 1998, Xiao Lijun.

Third, the level of Bianzhen Fortress in the late Ming Dynasty
1 fort city, 2 cities, 3 acropolis, 4 road city, 5 town city (Bianzhen), and Tiancheng city where Yangshanlu is now, belong to the acropolis.
Fortress is the smallest unit of troops. The military city is collectively called the military fort. There are more than 1,000 recorded gates on the "Nine Frontiers" and more than 700 military fortresses. The densely arranged military fortresses are centered on the capital. The closer they are to the capital, the greater their density.
For example, one fort is built at 20 miles in Liaodong Town, one fort is built at 30 miles in Xuanda Town, and one fort is built at 40 miles in Yansui Town on average.
Second-class small fort (a unit of one hundred households and one thousand households, the former Xiaoqiangbao of Yangshan Luguan, which is another name for the town’s guarding one hundred households).
Third-class fort city (weicheng), fourth-class road city, fifth-class town city.
As for state cities, such as Baoan Zhoucheng, this belongs to the name of the state and county, not the military pier system. In terms of area, it is generally larger than Suocheng and smaller than Acropolis.
In addition, the officers of the late Ming Dynasty had so-called actual awards, which can be seen below.
1 Commander-in-chief, no rank, the lowest department will command the quasi to be promoted to the quasi-superior, usually the quasi-superior serves as the second-tier, and the highest is the Zuo-du (the first-tier).
2 The deputy commander has no rank. The lowest department commands all staff (the third rank), usually the department commands all the staff, and the highest superintendent (the second rank of the central government).
3 Participants, the lowest guard commander acts in the same manner as the capital commander, usually the department commands the quasi (the third rank), and the highest commander (one province is the second rank).
4 guerrillas, the lowest guards command quasi (fourth grade), usually command quasi or all officials command quasi (positive third grade), and the highest commander (provincial positive second product).
5 Defence, the lowest guard commanded the quasi (rank 4), usually the guard commander (rank 3), and the highest commander (rank 2). Yang Shanlu is now the commander of guard with an additional rank.
6 Conduct officers, the lowest guard commander (fourth rank), usually guards command the same knowledge (from the third rank), and the highest guard commander (positive third rank), that is, the "guard" first-level officer.
7 Defensive officers, the lowest 100 households (positive sixth rank), usually 1,000 households (positive fifth rank), the highest guard commander (positive fourth rank), and generally are officials at the "suo" level.
8 Officer in charge of the team, the minimum is one hundred households (positive sixth grade), usually deputy thousand households (from five grade), the highest thousand households (positive five grade)
9 armour length, small flag. (End of this chapter)
