Being A Detective in The World of Film and Television

Chapter 1951: Education, I will watch you (1 more)

Views:

The two best friends who had been through thick and thin together hadn't seen each other for more than a year.

Not only were they very cordial when they met, but they also chatted for a long time after entering.

Seeing that it was about time, Luke asked Carol to take little Chenxi to play in the small children's playground in the backyard. (Dawn is a transliteration, meaning Chenxi. Because some people said that hearing this name reminds them of Dwayne Johnson, I would like to correct it.)

He and Lorna sat on the back porch. On the small table were the cookies and coffee that Carol had just brought from the kitchen.

Luke poured coffee for himself and Lorna before asking, "Have you made up your mind now?"

After Lorna and Marcos separated completely, Luke asked her to think about what to do next and suggested two options for her.

Lorna said she would think about it, and Luke said he would talk about it after he got over.

However, he didn't stay here for long, and he didn't leave immediately because he wanted to visit Carol.

Luke himself would return to Shackleford from time to time, but he didn’t want Beidou to be there at the same time.

Carol was very concerned about Beidou, her savior, and had mentioned several times that she would invite him to taste her cooking when she had time.

Sending Luna over this time and having dinner together as a three-person operation is like killing two birds with one stone.

He drank his coffee leisurely, not urging the uncertain Lorna.

She is 21 years old and a mother of a three-year-old child. It is normal for her to have more concerns.

On the way here, she was anxious and obviously couldn't make up her mind.

Luke didn't use his psychic abilities to influence her.

A forced melon is not sweet, and a person who is forcibly hypnotized is likely to betray.

Unless he is a red name, he just goes with the flow.

Luna followed Chenxi playing around in the backyard, and after a long while she said uncertainly: "I still want to accompany Chenxi to grow up, so..."

Luke hummed and waved his hand to interrupt her next words.

He wasn't begging her, it was enough for him to know her attitude.

"OK." Luke said, "But your training courses must at least meet the passing standards in the future."

Lorna: “Huh?”

Thinking of those various and wide-ranging training courses, she felt a little scared as she had not even finished high school.

Luke took a sip of his coffee: "This is not revenge against you."

Luna pursed her lips, looking angry but unable to speak: This is clearly making things difficult for me because I am uneducated!

Since he had nothing else to do, Luke didn't mind explaining it clearly: "If you choose to join us, you must pass all training courses to a good standard, and some subjects even require excellent grades."

At this point, he glanced at her with a half-smile in his eyes: "So, you were right not to choose to join us. This is indeed not something that ordinary people can do."

Lorna opened her pursed mouth wide: "Are you kidding?"

She had little interest in the training, but remembered the directory clearly.

How is it possible for so many training courses to all be good or even excellent

The point is that these are just the basic requirements to join the Bat Squad. Are all the people in that team monsters? Uh... they all seem a little abnormal!

Luna suddenly felt balanced. How could she compare herself with a group of monsters with extraordinary talents

Luke noticed her emotions and chuckled, "They don't know everything when they join, but they will work hard to learn and improve themselves. At most, they will learn less about things they don't like, but they are not lazy."

Luna lowered her head in frustration: Isn't this saying that I'm lazy

Luke: "Other people are still working hard in their thirties and forties. Are you going to give up when you're only in your early twenties?"

Lorna was speechless.

Luke snorted, "You just muddle along like this because no one is watching over you."

Lorna continued to lower her head, rubbing her toes back and forth on the wooden floor of the porch, just like a poor student who was kept after class by the teacher.

But Luke's intention was not to suppress her, so he changed the subject: "I will find a private tutor for you in the future, starting with the middle school courses and learning slowly. When you are ready, you can contact a suitable university. People still need to read more books, so that their minds will not be empty."

Lorna turned her head in astonishment: "What? I still have to go to school?"

Luke looked at him with that squinting disdainful expression again: "What else? Am I going to be illiterate all my life?"

Lorna opened her mouth and moved her lips several times but no words came out.

She can't just say, "Yes, I just like being illiterate!"

Luke continued to present facts and reason: "You love Chenxi, right?"

Lorna nodded subconsciously.

Luke: "You are willing to provide her with the best of everything. You will definitely not stop her from going to college, right?"

Lorna nodded again.

Luke: "Then after more than ten years, when Chenxi goes to college, will you and her have nothing in common?"

Lorna was stunned.

College students and she, who neither of them had attended middle school, can have common topics.

But the huge difference in thinking styles makes it difficult to find a common language.

Even without considering the communication barriers that age may bring, Lorna has not even attended middle school. How can she solve the problems her daughter encounters at school? Should she just throw the students, parents, and teachers who caused the problems to the sky

In this case, it would be impossible for the mother and daughter to communicate smoothly.

Luke's words were not just empty talk.

In his previous life, he was able to communicate smoothly with his nephews and nieces thanks to his long-term exposure to short video websites, where he understood (eat) and comprehended) the various behaviors and remarks of the younger generation.

Most of the parents of these nephews and nephews can only remind them to study (work) hard and take care of their health.

Under this one-sided nagging, children are unwilling to talk about what they are thinking, and parents have no idea about their children's thoughts.

Many American parents have a weak affection for their children, but Lorna obviously doesn't want to be like that.

After hearing Luke's reminder, she finally felt a sense of urgency.

She doesn't expect her daughter to be as intimate with her as she was when she was a child, but she can't be silent with her when she grows up either!

Luke sensed her emotions and knew that the beating was almost over.

If he pushed any harder, Luna would just give up and he would have to work hard to encourage her.

If it weren't for the fact that Luna's ability was a bug and had the potential to become an important trump card, he wouldn't bother to say so much.

At this point, Luke simply got up and left to talk to Carol, leaving Lorna alone to think.

In early April, the Texas afternoon garden was shaded by green trees and echoed with the joyful screams and laughter of the morning light.

Luna sat blankly on the porch, watching Chenxi pulling Beidou to play affectionately, not afraid of his poker face at all.

It seemed that his daughter was closer to him than to herself. Was this the charm of being cultured? Lorna was a little confused.

If Luke knew what she was thinking at the moment, he would definitely be in tears and laughter.

Being educated doesn't have super powers! Use mind communication to convey friendly and kind emotions to Chenxi, and the little girl will naturally approach him.

This has nothing to do with his poker face!

After nightfall, little Loli Chenxi fell asleep early, and Luke was sent out the door by Carol and Lorna.

Looking at Carol who was reluctant to leave and Lorna with complicated eyes, he smiled and hugged Carol: "Don't be too wronged, you have done a good job."

Carol's face turned a little red, and she just nodded silently.

Luke looked at Lorna again.

The young mother, who still retained a little of her teenage pride, looked away.

He took the initiative to hug her and patted her head: "You are not a child anymore. You should work hard for yourself and Chenxi."

Luna's eyes felt a little hot, and she could only lower her eyelids to hide it.

A not-so-gentle, low voice came to my ears: "Don't be lazy anymore! I'll be watching you."
