Chapter 316: Mike's discovery, insect expert (1 more)

Luke waited patiently, and only when he heard Mike say he could come in did he push the door open.

Mike looked at him in surprise: "You, what are you doing here?"

Luke smiled and said, "Can I sit down and talk?" He pointed to a bench in the room.

Mike nodded.

Luke sat down and looked at Mike, who was a little nervous and restrained, and smiled, "I also have a sister who is in high school and a five-year-old brother. He is as smart as you."

Mike uttered an "oh" and looked at him with lively eyes.

Luke: "I am a very good friend of your sister Lisa. I came here this time because she told me that you found some strange things. I happened to be interested in these things, so I came to take a look."

Mike was alert: "What is that?"

Luke chuckled and didn't answer directly. Instead, he said, "You know, my uncle is an entomologist and a forensic expert. He works at a scientific research institute in Las Vegas. His favorite snack is fried bugs."

Mike: ⊙o⊙! Then your uncle better not like dogs.

Luke looked at his expression and said, "You know, there are many kinds of likes. Favorite food is one of them."

Mike was speechless.

Luke: "So, can you show me your great discovery? If it's interesting, I can ask my uncle to analyze it. He's very interested in all kinds of strange bugs."

Mike hesitated.

Luke: "Hey, little guy, I'm your sister's special helper. You don't want to be misunderstood as a liar by your mother, right?"

Trust in his sister and a vague sense of crisis finally overwhelmed the unfamiliarity. Mike stood up, took out something from a corner under his desk, and handed it over: "This is it."

Luke narrowed his eyes, took the thing, and moved his nose: "You told your sister that you found a scary monster?"

He asked, examining the object in his hand.

Mike hesitated, but nodded: "Yes, it's so big, like a mobile cabin."

Luke nodded thoughtfully, looked up and asked him, "Do you mind if I show this to my uncle?"

Mike: “Huh?”

Luke: “Just take a photo and send it to him.”

Mike certainly had no objection.

Elizabeth had said long ago that her brother was an insect lover, which was why Luke used Old G as bait.

I sent a photo of the object to Lao G, and then sent him a message. Soon, Lao G called me and asked, "What was that thing you sent me? Don't tell me it's a movie prop?"

Luke: "No, I have this thing in my hand right now. I have confirmed it. It is real."

Old G: "Where are you?"

Luke: "Boomtown, Arizona, a little place."

Old G: "Prosperity Town? Wait, I think I know someone there."

Luke: “Who?”

Old G: "Joshua Tufte, he is an expert in studying and breeding spiders."

Mike exclaimed, and Luke turned his head: "What's wrong?"

Mike: "I found this thing on Joshua's spider farm when I went to see him."

Old G was silent for a moment: "Is there anyone next to you?"

Luke: "You heard it. He was the one who found this thing. I just took it from him."

Old G: "... Something happened to Joshua?"

Luke looked at Mike.

The little boy shook his head. “I don’t know. My mom doesn’t allow me to go to the spider farm, especially after what happened these past few days. But I just called Joshua, but no one answered.”

Luke: "Did you hear that, Grayson?"

Old G: "… If you can, try to help. But don't put yourself in danger. I don't want to be scolded by Robert."

Luke: "I see. Things here are hard to say. Two people have already gone missing, so don't come over. If anything really happens, I'll tell you."

Old G was silent for a moment, and seemed to sigh: "Okay, be careful. Oh, and send a photo of that thing again, a higher resolution one, and it would be best if you put a ruler or something next to it."

Mike interrupted: "I have an analysis data on my computer. If you need it, I can send it to you. If you have an email address, Mr. Grayson."

Luke: …

Old G: "...Okay. Thank you. Oh, what's your name?"

Mike: "Call me Mike."

Old G: "Thank you, Mike. I'll send you the email address, that's all."

After hanging up the phone, Luke told Mike the email address that Old G had sent him, and then watched the little guy skillfully operate the computer and send over a piece of analysis data.

Luke couldn't help but ask: "Can you let me see this information?"

Mike: "Just don't tell mom."

Luke raised three fingers: "I swear."

As he spoke, he bent down a little and flipped through the analytical data on the computer.

After looking at it for a moment, he looked surprised and asked, "Did you make this yourself?"

Mike showed no sign of pride at all: "Well, I like to study them, so I have been making observation reports about them. Unfortunately, my mother always says it is dangerous there, so I can only go there once in a while."

In his heart, Luke agreed with Samantha. Wouldn't something be wrong with Joshua now

As a mother and a police officer, Samantha is certainly much more concerned about safety than a child like Mike.

The little guy is still alive and kicking here now, it’s really all thanks to his mother.

Luke looked at it for a moment and frowned: "How many spiders are there in Joshua's spider farm?"

Mike thought about it and shook his head, "Not sure, he often trains new spiders. But when I was there last time, I counted a portion of them and there were over two hundred."

Luke: ... Damn, are you kidding me

Looking at the analysis data again, he saw a spider model crawling next to a human body. The size comparison between the two made him feel a little creepy.

There is a spider as big as a washbasin. Are you afraid of it

Arthropods have always occupied a large part of Luke's most disliked creatures, including but not limited to spiders, scorpions, centipedes and so on.

Now, he felt a little uneasy at the thought that he might have to face some giant spiders.

Luke is also a little helpless now.

He called for help, but what was he relying on? Just the small piece of spider forelimb exoskeleton in Mike's hand

If a large number of police officers could be mobilized based on a guess, all the police officers in the United States would have died of overwork long ago.

Luke thought for a moment and said to Mike, "Mike, your mother is right. Joshua's spider farm may become very dangerous now. You have already seen a monster, haven't you? So, listen to your mother and don't go there again."
