Selina took out her cell phone and called the forensic officer.

Luke went forward alone, but did not board the boat. He just walked around it and roughly checked the situation.

"There's no obvious blood on the boat, but look here." He nodded to Selena who had just finished the call.

Selina looked at the hull and saw a large dent on the side of the bow.

"Something hit the boat hard?" she asked.

Luke nodded. "There is no blood in the boat, nor any obvious marks. The possibility of a fight is very low. Wait, the forensics department will be here soon. Even an hour is considered fast."

Selina looked up at the sky, then looked down at her watch: "It's over. Our seafood lunch is over."

Luke also thought of this and said helplessly, "We can only cancel the lunch reservation."

Selina could only nod and start dialing the restaurant's number.

Luke said hello, jogged back to Swick's villa, and drove his car not far from the boat.

When the car arrived, he smiled and said, "Although there is no seafood lunch, there are still sunbathing and other things. And this, how about it?"

As he spoke, he took out a can of Dr. Pepper from the refrigerator in the car and threw it over.

Selina took it, opened it, took a sip, and burped with satisfaction: "Honey, you are so wise."

Luke smiled but said nothing.

Together, the two of them took out folding chairs, parasols and large towels from the trunk of the car and set them up on a flat reef nearby.

Selina slipped into the car and changed into a bikini. With her other hand, she took out a food box, ran back and lay down. Only then did she let out a comfortable breath: "Ah, it's nice to take a break from the busy schedule."

Luke opened the food box, took out a piece of braised beef and threw it into his mouth: "Kill two birds with one stone. Otherwise, there is no point in waiting here."

This is the frustration of detective work.

Now that they have discovered the boat, the two cannot just leave and have to wait for the forensic personnel to take over.

If you are in the city, you can find a place to rest before the forensics arrive.

In this remote wilderness we can only rely on ourselves and find ways to survive.

Fortunately, Luke and his companions are always well prepared when they go out, and there is no shortage of food and water in the car.

Although it's not as exaggerated as a special outdoor outing, it can make the waiting process more comfortable for the two of them.

Selena closed her eyes, sunbathing, and listened to study materials with headphones in her ears.

Luke organized a lot of professional knowledge for her, covering everything from combat to survival, from cities to the wild.

Now when she has nothing to do, she just listens to it like the radio, which is more comfortable than just reading text.

Luke doesn't often sunbathe. He just casually applied sunscreen on Selina's back and then drank tea and read some information.

However, the information he read was not so serious. It was basically intelligence related to the dark world forces in Los Angeles.

Recently, he has been intentionally controlling the frequency of his cleaning operations, maintaining a schedule of one job every five to seven days, to avoid being too "diligent" and having a significant impact on his mood.

Even so, over the past month, Luke has cleared out nearly ten gang hideouts.

Compared to the entire Los Angeles gang forces, this number is just a fraction of a fraction, but he cleared out the backbone of the gang. These middle-level gang members who were cleared out controlled dozens or hundreds of lower-level personnel under them.

After he killed these middle-level thugs, hundreds of lower-level thugs lost their leaders.

Suddenly losing their direct superior, these little hooligans started to become restless.

Some want to replace the boss, some want to join other forces, and some want to take advantage of the situation to gain some benefits.

Therefore, these gangs in Los Angeles have been in a state of unrest recently.

Luke was already considering whether to clean up the high-spirited gang members among this group of low-level thugs.

Compared with the dead backbones, these low-level thugs are a bit more unscrupulous, because most of them have not been educated by the cruel reality. When they find an opportunity, they think they are the boss and want to do something big.

Luke thought that if another thirty or fifty of those happy-dancing guys died, the rest would start to understand.

All the brainless ones who make trouble will die, and the sensible ones will naturally come to the fore.

As for bringing more crime to Los Angeles, he doesn't think so.

Organized crime is even more dangerous.

Many of the cases involving the gangs are sustained and large-scale, such as trafficking in women, human beings and even organs, or smuggling of arms and illegal drugs.

At most, the small thugs rob and injure people on the streets, but they are not as efficient as the gangs that operate on an assembly line.

As he thought about it, he put red √s behind some names in the notebook.

If nothing unexpected happens, these names will be followed by a red x after a while.

Suddenly, the sound of an engine was heard in the distance.

Luke looked sideways and saw an old pickup truck passing through the wasteland not far away and heading further away.

He was speechless: In this remote place, there are still people coming here for an outing like them

After a while, the people from the forensic department finally arrived.

Seeing Selina just waving to them and continuing to bask in the sun, the two forensic personnel were full of envy: "Wow, you are so smart to prepare these things in advance."

No one would seriously talk about what to do during working hours. Normally, work is boring and tedious, with corpses and blood every day. Only an idiot would talk nonsense when there are beautiful women to look at.

Luke chuckled and pointed to the boat over there: "If you have finished your work and want to enjoy yourself, I can lend you two yoga mats and sunscreen. Of course, you have to bring your own clothes and towels."

Both forensics officers were relatively young, white males no older than 30 years old, and had lively personalities.

They looked at each other and smiled bitterly: "Where do we have time to sunbathe? We still have a lot of analysis and reports to do when we get back."

Luke shrugged. "Then I can't help you. I'm not the head of the forensic department, so I can't approve a leave application."

The three of them chatted for a while and then started working.

The work of forensic personnel is not particularly heavy.

There were not many traces on the boat. Apart from the dent caused by the collision and the pool of dried blood, there was nothing suspicious.

When the forensic department people were almost done with their work and were about to leave, the broken pickup truck that had driven past earlier drove back.

Luke stood on the reef and took a casual look, only to find that this time there was a small boat towing behind the broken pickup truck.

He was stunned.

This boat was surprisingly the same as the small boat they inspected, with a white background and green edges, and the name of the restaurant, Greer, on it.

Looking at the boat from a distance, Luke discovered that there seemed to be a piece missing from the bow of the boat.
