Luke hummed, "It's about a kilometer away."
Elsa: "I just received a call from Weston Baguirre who surrendered himself. He shot and killed Fili Swick in that villa. Since you are nearby, go and take a look. By the way, the people from the Forensic Department are still here, right? Just let them go with you."
Luke looked over there and saw the two forensic officers with relieved expressions on their faces. They closed the trunk door of their SUV and said, "Yes, they haven't left yet. We'll be there right away."
After hanging up the phone, he put on a bright smile and walked towards the two forensic personnel: "Excuse me, you two, we still have to rush to a new crime scene. Do you want us to work overtime together?"
Two forensic personnel: "Wth?!"
This time, Luke and the other man felt relieved.
They rushed back to the Swick Villa they had visited in the afternoon, handcuffed Weston Bagill who had surrendered himself, and waited for the patrol police to come and guard the scene, and then they took the people back to the police station.
Weston Bagel is the husband of Wendy Bagel, the female corpse found in the sea.
He had an ordinary, slightly feminine appearance, a thin body, and a look of grief and confusion.
Even though this man had just killed a man with a revolver, Luke and the other fellow did not have a stern look on their faces.
Who made Weston Wendy's real husband
The person who was beaten to death was Mr. Swick, who was about to live together with his wife Wendy.
The interrogation didn't last long and it was all over.
The breakdown of this marriage made Weston completely disappointed in life, so he took a gun to Swick and shot him to death.
Because he felt that the other party killed Wendy.
Luke and the others were not sure about Weston's mental journey.
No one knows whether Weston killed Fili Swick because of Wendy's death or because of Wendy's infidelity.
The case was finally concluded without any trouble.
The judge might reduce Mr. Weston's sentence appropriately because of his tragic life, but that had nothing to do with Luke and the other man.
Elsa came out of the observation room next door and watched Weston being taken into custody by the police. She turned her head to Luke and asked, "So, who killed his wife Wendy?"
Luke shook his head: "That depends on the forensics department. Maybe they can give us a surprise?"
Elsa chuckled and left immediately. No one knew how long it would take for the forensic department to come up with the results.
Selina's phone rang. She answered it, said a few words and hung up. "Okay, the forensics department found a driver's license that was not completely destroyed, and repaired it. They successfully found out the identity of the naked female corpse."
Luke walked back to his desk and asked, "Who is it?"
Selina also returned to her desk and opened a document on his computer: "It's this...'s wife."
Luke looked at the photo: "Huh?"
On the computer screen, Fili Swick's head ID photo is easy to recognize.
He looked at the information of Swick's wife and couldn't help sighing: "Well, this lady even changed her last name. It seems that her relationship with her husband is not very good."
Bella Browne, 33 years old, white female, 5'8" (172cm) tall, long brown hair.
Look at the face in the photo again. Although it is a little different from the female corpse on the boat, it is still the same person, because the face in the photo has not been beaten.
Luke picked up his clothes and said, "Let's go, I'll treat you to dinner."
Selina: "What to eat?"
"It's the seafood feast you wanted to eat." Luke said with a smile.
It was getting dark now, and it was time for dinner.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Selina laughed loudly, hugged Luke and kissed him on the face: "Lunch becomes dinner, this is possible."
Luke smiled and said, "At least, we have acquaintances and it's easy to make a reservation. Hi, Nina." He raised his hand to signal someone.
A familiar waitress came over quickly and led the two to a small table with a smile: "What would you like to eat?"
Luke casually put the menu on the table in Selina's hands: "Lobster is behind today's set menu."
After that, he smiled and said, "Let her choose first. Let's talk about work first. Do you have any impression of this woman?"
In his hand was a photo of Bella Browne.
The waitress Nina was the one who had provided them with the information in the morning. After the two of them canceled their lunch, Luke took the opportunity to come here and booked a table for dinner.
For a man of integrity like Luke, the waitress Nina is also very honest.
She glanced at the photo for a few times. "I have some impression. I saw her arguing with Mr. Swick in the parking lot once. It seemed like she was about to kill someone."
Luke looked at Selina who looked up and asked, "Is she a frequent visitor here as well?"
Nina shook her head. "No, I rarely see her. If it weren't for the quarrel between her and Mr. Swick, I wouldn't remember her very much."
Luke: "Ms. Bella, the boat that took the restaurant away two days ago has not returned. Didn't you know?"
Nina: "People often forget to return the boat. For strangers, we will deduct their deposit."
Luke: "Where is the deposit list?"
Nina: "At the manager's place, do you need me to call him for you?"
Luke: "Thank you, Nina."
After finding Bella Browne's name on the deposit list and asking for details about her departure by boat, Luke and his companions enjoyed a sumptuous special dinner with peace of mind.
When paying the bill, Nina got a tip of $100, which surprised her.
The general tip is at most 20% of the meal cost, and the extra part is of course her "intelligence fee", which made her smile as she walked the two of them all the way out the door.
After getting in the car, Luke said, "There shouldn't be much suspense in this case."
Selina nodded lazily. "Swick is so rich. After his wife Bella was caught cheating on him, she couldn't get any of the property and is currently separating and going through divorce procedures. If Wendy wasn't around, she might have a chance to win back Swick, or a lot of money."
"So, she followed Wendy and found an opportunity to hit her with the boat." Luke added, "But it's still unknown whether she killed Wendy. After all, Bella doesn't look like she could dislocate someone's arm."
Selina looked indifferent: "If it's her, then what's the point of this case?"
Luke was silent after hearing this.
Of the two couples involved in the case, Swick died.
Swick's wife, Bella, died two days earlier than Swick.
Wendy was most likely killed by Bella, and the only surviving Wendy's husband, Weston Bagel, beat Swick to death with his own hands and will spend a long time in prison.
This is a marriage game with no winners. All four of them lost miserably and have no chance of making a comeback.
