It was the sincere suggestions from my friends that helped me sort out my originally vague thoughts and find the right direction for the book, which was still able to be widely recommended even after it was criticized for failure.
By the way, I started reading online articles several years before Qidian.com was founded.
But after reading books for almost ten years, I finally came up with the idea of writing one myself.
Before I published my first book in 2007, I had already fantasized about having it recommended by a big magazine.
In fact, I wrote my fourth book, and only signed it when it had nearly 5,000 collections.
But because of some things, I put down the keyboard for nearly ten years and completely left the circle of writers.
Until one day at the end of 2017, I suddenly had the urge to start on the road again.
The results were no surprise.
This first book after ten years was a big hit, and it was a big hit beyond imagination. The first order was 2.1 million, and the book was completed with 1.7 million words, and the average order after the book was completed was 3 million.
But ten years later, my mentality is much calmer than it was ten years ago.
I comforted myself that I should pay more attention and work harder on my next book, and it should be possible to get 500 subscriptions. If I work hard and finish the whole book, it is not impossible to get an average of 1,000 subscriptions.
With this thought in mind, I calmly faced the failure of my first book.
After finishing this flop book, I suddenly had a new idea when starting a new book. I gave up the apocalyptic article I had thought about many times and wrote a new idea that I had just conceived a few days ago, which is the current book.
It took me about a month to fill in the outline and settings, and wrote the first 200,000 words of the book before I submitted the manuscript to Yuanzhengda.
The signing was expected.
But the new book received far more positive reviews than the last time.
This gave me some confidence in my new book: I wouldn’t be able to get even 500 orders this time. At least I could pay the electricity and internet bills, and scrape together a few months’ worth of royalties to buy a new laptop.
Things after the book was opened had their ups and downs.
The performance of the new book was quite good, but there was a period of time in the middle when people complained about its poor writing.
Now that I think about it, I was lucky that I made the mistake early and realized my mistake early after being reminded by my friends, so I didn’t ruin the article after it was put online, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to change it.
Later, I walked more and more steadily.
Because I have such a group of old friends who support me by subscribing, rewarding and giving me monthly tickets, I know they are always there, and I naturally feel at ease.
Even the complaints they made in this chapter were enjoyable to me.
I am lucky to have written this book.
