When the two men got off the helicopter, it was already 8:40 in the morning.
The early morning sun shone on the West District Police Station building, casting patches of golden light.
An agent from the major crime team just bought breakfast and entered through the back door. When he saw the two people getting on and off the plane on the tarmac, he was stunned: "Luke, Selina, you are back?"
When Luke and Selina saw this man, they smiled and greeted him: "Oh, Krich, good morning."
Kriqi looked at the helicopter behind them with a strange look on his face: "How... did you fly this thing back?"
Luke chuckled: "I have something urgent to do, so I borrowed it and rushed back."
Although Krich was still a little suspicious, he didn't dare to ask any more questions.
Everyone's cases are kept confidential unless they have a close enough relationship to chat casually.
But Luke and Selina's group had only been here for a few days, and they were just acquainted with each other.
So he nodded and went in.
Luke and Selina walked into the police station. At the back door, Selina stopped, fumbled around her body, took out a few coins, stuffed them into the vending machine, and operated it twice.
Boom, boom. Two cans of Dr. Pepper.
She took a can for herself and gave one to Luke.
Seeing Selina drinking happily, Luke shook his head helplessly and could only open the bottle and start drinking as well.
He has never been very interested in this thing, and Selena has been trying to make him like it. In her words, partners should share good things together.
Last night, Selena listened to him and not only did she not make any trouble, she also helped him guard the helicopter.
Now, he could only obediently follow and drink this strange drink.
Maybe it was because he smelled too much blood and rotten smell all night, but Luke suddenly felt that this thing tasted pretty good.
The two of them drank caramel carbonated drinks all the way to Thomas' office.
I knocked on the door and someone called out, "Come in."
The two men pushed the door open and Thomas frowned but said nothing.
As the deputy director, he actually didn't like his subordinates coming to him directly, even if Luke was his relative.
Luke saluted and said, "Chief, we have something to report to you."
Thomas frowned: "Then go write a report and send it over."
Luke: "No, Chief, this report cannot be written."
Thomas: “Why?”
Luke: "Because Chief Berrick handed us a case, which was about going to Raccoon City to investigate the missing police officer, so we went to Raccoon City yesterday."
Thomas was stunned: "And then?"
Luke: "Raccoon City was razed to the ground by an atomic weapon around five o'clock this morning. Few of the residents there survived."
Thomas was stunned: "What?! Are you kidding?"
Luke: "No, Chief. I'm sure you can verify this quickly. I came here just to ask you how to write the report on my case this time."
Thomas looked uncertain.
He's not stupid.
Luke said this, if things go wrong we have to drag him in to share the risk.
But... can he get away with it
Thinking in his heart, he waved his hand: "Then don't write this report for now. Also, you and Selina will take a vacation for three days. Have a good rest. Don't tell anyone about any situation in Raccoon City. Understand?"
Luke nodded. "I understand. Do you want me to tell Chief Berrick?"
Thomas waved his hand: "No, I will notify him. You guys stay in the police station lounge and wait for me to notify you."
After the two left, Thomas started making phone calls.
In less than thirty minutes, he was sitting in his office in shock, with cold sweat starting to form on his forehead.
After a moment, he suddenly came to his senses and cursed: "Borik, this idiot, dared to use such a small trick against my people! This guy has little ability, but many tricks."
What actually made Thomas angry was that Berrick assigned the case to Luke at such a coincidence.
It was a day later, and Thomas wouldn't be so upset now.
Well, okay, Thomas was actually a little angry because he was the one who brought this case up in the first place.
It wasn't that he was meddling. There would never have been a case of the West District Police Department going to Raccoon City to investigate.
Who knew that I would get myself into trouble for no apparent reason.
God knows how much trouble this will cause. A city was razed to the ground with tens of thousands of people in it.
It just so happened that two of his detectives came out of Raccoon City. It is really hard to say whether this will affect his position.
But could he blame himself? Obviously not.
He is the deputy director, and if there is any mistake, it is the fault of his subordinates.
Of course, Luke and the other man did nothing wrong. Should he blame them for working too hard
The fault must have been Berrick's.
If this guy hadn't been playing tricks and trying to send Luke and the others to Raccoon City, Thomas would have no worries now.
From the beginning, Berrick's behavior was full of ulterior motives, making things difficult for Luke and the others.
To put it in a broader sense, it means going against Chief Thomas.
Moreover, Berwick was not his man, but Director Faraday's man.
It was for this reason that Borrick dared to target Luke.
As long as it was normal work, Berwick was not afraid of Thomas causing trouble.
But now... Thomas sneered and casually called Borick to tell Luke that they had a special situation and would have three days off.
Then, Thomas began to use his connections to quickly gather information from Raccoon City.
Luke and Selina came out, passed by their desks to pick up some snacks, and went to the temporary lounge inside the police station.
The so-called lounge is actually a corner next to the hall, with a half circle of partitions that can block a certain degree of vision.
There are sofas, tables and chairs here where you can take a break or have a bite to eat.
The two of them didn't waste any time, sat down at a small table, and started eating.
Of course Luke ate chocolate. He had a lot of this high-calorie food.
The police station is still relatively safe. The Umbrella Corporation is not crazy enough to raid the Houston Police Station. The company's style is different from that of the black gangs.
From beginning to end, Luke only killed a few Umbrella mercenaries, and he didn't even kill the supervisor.
At least two hundred Umbrella Corporation mercenaries died in there this time, most of whom were thrown in by Umbrella themselves for testing and died.
If Umbrella Corporation were to cause trouble for Luke just for these tools, it would have gone bankrupt long ago.
The only thing is that he still has the T virus and serum in his hands. Umbrella Corporation will definitely go crazy about these things, but they should not be able to find him in a short time.
After eating a fast food sandwich, drinking milk, and chewing some chocolate, Luke carefully reviewed what he had gained during the day and night.
