Luke smiled: "I believe you can find more clues, Harley."
Harley looked at him: "That would only be possible if Molly's parents were willing to let her receive my treatment."
The implication is that she is not incompetent, but she just needs time to display her abilities.
Luke nodded and looked at Christina: "When her parents arrive, let me know. I'll see if I can get Molly to stay longer or get treatment here."
Christina nodded: "Okay."
We are still somewhat confident about this matter.
After all, the Metropolitan General Hospital itself is a first-class hospital in New York, and there are not many hospitals in Massachusetts that can compare with it.
As long as there is no financial pressure, it is more appropriate to stay in New York for treatment than to return to Massachusetts.
At this point, everyone dispersed.
No matter how pitiful Molly is, we still have to continue working and it is impossible to stay here and watch over her.
After leaving the hospital, Luke drove home.
Selina fiddled with the tablet on the passenger seat for a while and suddenly said, "Got it."
Luke: “Who?”
"Jessica Jones is 24 years old, has no criminal record, and owns a registered private investigation firm." Selina said, "But this lady has a bad temper. In the past two years, the police records show that she has had 15 disputes with others, most of which accuse her of abusing violence and threatening others. There are also several complaints of illegal intrusion."
Luke didn't take it seriously: "It's normal for a private investigator to use violence or sneak into the target's home. But this one has a bad temper. Shouldn't a normal private investigator receive more complaints about illegal intrusion? She likes to beat people so much, why didn't those people sue her?"
"Hogarth-Benowitz Law Firm handled these minor problems for her." Selina looked at the information on the tablet and said, "This firm is a well-known law firm in New York and is very powerful."
Luke thought for a moment and said, “Check whether the cases taken by this law firm involve people who were beaten by Miss Jones.”
Selina moved her hands a few times and exclaimed, "You are so smart. The database shows that at least three people have sued the client of this law firm."
Luke shrugged. “So, this Miss Jones is both a private investigator and an investigator for this firm. She’s probably an ace investigator, after all, she’s pretty good at fighting.”
Selina didn't care about that. She was also good at fighting, and she could do it more safely and without any consequences than Jessica. She didn't envy her at all.
She just said: "Based on Jessica's resume, there should be nothing wrong with her. Molly is not the subject of the law firm's investigation."
Luke hummed.
This is to be prepared for any eventuality, to avoid having your information stolen by someone with ulterior motives.
Molly's case is not that simple, so it's never too much to be careful.
The two drove home, took the gold nuggets and went out to find a place to have lunch.
After driving around a lot, Luke arrived at a barbecue shop.
Looking at the store which is almost the same as it was a year ago, he sighed a little.
There was no sense of nostalgia for the gold nugget, as it was its first time in New York, but it was not its first time eating roast meat.
It loved these greasy, meaty, and sometimes sweet foods, and its nose was already whimpering, urging Luke to buy some quickly.
Luke walked into the store, greeted the boss, and made a big circle with his finger: "Package."
The boss didn't remember him anymore and just asked casually, "Which one do you want?"
Luke: "All kinds, three whole portions of each, double the amount of roast suckling pig and barbecued pork. Cut a small portion of barbecued pork and suckling pig and pack them separately."
The boss was stunned: "Are you sure it's a whole one?"
It is not uncommon to order three small portions of each item, but if you order three of the whole thing, the roast meat here will be less than half.
Luke smiled and said, "Yes. I came to eat here a year ago. It was delicious. You even gave me a roasted goose head as a gift."
The boss looked at him again, vaguely impressed, and laughed: "What are you doing, treating us to a meal?"
Luke shrugged. "That's about right. No need to cut it. Just pack it up for me to take away."
It would take the boss at least half an hour to chop so much roast meat.
He and Selina have a hand, and Nugget won't spit out any bones when eating these, so it's better to save some time.
After a while, the two men and the dog went to Central Park with several large bags of roast meat.
The weather is still gloomy today and there are fewer people in the park.
The two men and the dog found the same corner as last time and started having lunch.
Selina and Nugget launched a frenzied attack on the barbecued pork and roasted suckling pig, while Luke leisurely enjoyed the poached chicken.
"In the afternoon, emumu~where are we going?" Selina asked vaguely while chewing.
Luke: "Go to the 15th precinct and bring that Louis-Paul out. We need to find out how Molly showed up at his house."
Louis Paul was the tenant of the apartment where Molly was found. Yesterday, he was slapped in the face by Luke for attempting to attack a police officer, and then was handed over to the 15th Precinct for cleanup.
At the time, Luke thought Molly was Louis' girlfriend.
But seeing the way Molly dressed, he could only suspect that Louis had kidnapped Molly.
Today, what happened to Molly vaguely proved that Louis might just be a scapegoat.
Without any concrete clues about that "him", Louis at least knew how Molly got to his house.
Luke didn't regret throwing Louis to the 15th Precinct yesterday.
It was also not uncommon for a suspect's girlfriend to be in the house when he was arrested, and he couldn't possibly investigate carefully every time.
He has dealt with hundreds of these small fish in this way in Los Angeles, and will do the same in the future.
They quickly finished their lunch and the two people and the dog got back into the car.
Jin Nugget was still not satisfied and was drooling over the two remaining bags of roast meat.
Luke simply said, "That's a midnight snack," and the dog head happily lay down and took his usual afternoon nap.
Selena also closed her eyes and rested.
An hour later, Luke got Louis out of the 15th Precinct and threw him into the back seat of the car.
Gold Nugget opened his sleepy eyes and moved his special mat away with disgust, trying to get as far away from the stinky guy as possible, while pretending to make threatening whining sounds.
Selina also opened her eyes and looked at Louis in the rearview mirror: "What happened to him? It seems that you just hit him with a door panel yesterday."
Luke: "I boasted to those scumbags in the detention room, and I boasted like a fool, so I got beaten up... um, okay, maybe several times."
Louis listened to the voice coming from the front and lowered his head in shame.
The two cops from the 15th Precinct were so cunning that they deliberately accused him of assaulting a police officer when they threw him into the detention room.
The villains in the detention room thought that a super ruthless person had arrived and were very cautious with him.
