"Be more polite to me next time!"
Somewhere in the New York subway, Lynn rubbed his head and cursed.
He had just been thrown out by the Room of Requirement again and again, and just managed to stand firm, but when he turned around, he bumped into the stone pillar of the platform.
So I couldn't help but grimace and shed tears.
When his frowning facial expression gradually recovered, he found himself at an empty platform.
"Why are there so many abandoned platforms in New York..." Lin En was very suspicious. This was the second time he appeared on an empty platform.
But he soon overturned this conclusion.
Around him, scattered newspapers, food, and drinks, some of which were still steaming, were strewn all over the floor.
Lynn was sure that this place had been full of people a few minutes ago.
And now the crowd should have been evacuated urgently.
"Well, it's another crime scene." Lin En had already prepared himself mentally for this.
So he took out the mask from his windbreaker pocket, hung it on his face, put on his hood, and prepared to take on a big job.
What on earth could have caused people to run so recklessly? As Lin En walked forward, he looked around and even saw a cell phone thrown on the ground, which showed how critical the situation was.
Soon, he found some clues on the stairs:
A streak of bright red blood extended from the top of the stairs to the floor. It kept dripping from the steps and finally spread out over a large area on the floor.
It looked like something was injured and was dragged.
Lin En was about to go forward to check, but suddenly heard an extremely rude voice coming from a distance.
"Hey kid, get away from here!"
The voice echoed back and forth in the empty platform, so much so that Lin En couldn't tell where the speaker was at first.
It was not until another sound of reloading was heard that Lynn realized that there was a bearded man in fluorescent work clothes standing behind the stairs, pointing a double-barreled shotgun at him.
"Do you understand? Go home to your mother. If you don't leave, I'll shoot you out!" The bearded man walked forward while yelling and cursing, with a very bad attitude.
When Lin En saw the fluorescent work clothes he was wearing, he immediately realized that he was someone sent in by Stark Industries, so he stepped back and asked:
"What happened?"
"This is not your concern, get out now!" The bearded man didn't buy it.
“OK, OK, I’ll be out…” Lin En put his hands in front of his chest to signal the other party not to be impulsive.
"Right now—"
"Confusing the public!"
With the help of a fake hand-raising move, Lin En took out the magic wand from his sleeve and completed the sneak attack. After seeing the other party's stunned eyes, he quickly asked:
"What's going on here?"
"Mutated creatures attacked the subway platform."
"Who are you?"
"A person hired by Stark Industries to assist in hunting down mutants."
"Where are the mutants?"
"It went into a hole in the wall and disappeared."
"You can go now."
After hearing the information from the bearded man, Lin En felt something was not good. Normally, mutant creatures like to stay in dark places like sewers and ventilation shafts, and rarely appear in human sight.
Now this one has gone against its usual behavior and committed crimes in public, which seems to be worthy of vigilance.
Of course, despite being cautious, Lin En did not stop. He walked quickly forward, his windbreaker rustling, like a hunter walking in a steel forest.
Soon he saw a group of people dressed like the bearded man before. They were holding various weapons and staring at a hole in the wall in front of them with panic or nervousness.
That should be the direction the mutant creatures escaped.
"Damn it, I've told you so many times to wait for the operations specialist to arrive before we start the roundup. Now that thing has been scared away by you, and it even bit some unlucky guys. How do you want me to report to the boss?" A man in a suit and sunglasses cursed, seeming to have a lot of opinions about this group of people in uniform.
In turn, the leader of this group was equally tough:
"We were about to catch that beast, but where is the operations officer? He hasn't shown up yet!"
"Enough, it's gone! Don't you remember what's written in the contract? Never let them appear on the ground! Otherwise you won't get a penny!" The man in the suit and sunglasses was a little hysterical.
…
Hearing this, Lin En stopped in his tracks, because he actually heard a familiar voice from the argument between the two people just now.
Red-Eyed Jack from the Snakehead Gang? Why is he here
Lin En suddenly remembered that Red-Eyed Jack had revealed that the Snakehead Gang suffered heavy losses because of accepting an order from Sith Industries.
Lin En shook his head and stopped thinking about it. There were more important things that needed his attention right now. He just heard the conversation between two people, and the mutant creature had disappeared. This was a very dangerous omen.
"The traces have been revealed."
Lin En chanted a spell softly, and soon he saw a series of flickering silver webbed footprints on the ground, extending towards the broken cave in front.
The entrance to the cave was about one person tall, and Lin En felt that he should be able to get in, but the group of people in front of the entrance were quite in the way, so Lin En began to think about how to get around them.
However, plans cannot keep up with changes. Just as he was thinking about the route of action, a dull and loud noise suddenly came from the front. Lin En hurriedly looked up and found that a huge and ferocious monster had appeared in the hole that was originally pitch black.
For some reason, the mutant creature came back to attack again.
Almost in an instant, it used the cave entrance as a fulcrum, kicked hard, and twisted its body to pounce towards the people in front.
Only then did Lin En see clearly what this guy was - it seemed to be a giant crocodile, as big as a van, with sharp teeth, strong limbs, and it rushed at an extremely terrifying speed, knocking two or three people to the ground in just one encounter.
The man in sunglasses and Red-eyed Jack, who were arguing in front of the cave entrance at the beginning, were the first to be attacked.
"Don't shoot! He tackled Jack!"
"If we don't shoot, we will be bitten to death by him!"
"Oh shit, he's attacking again!"
The Snakehead Gang was in chaos at this time. After losing the leadership of Red-Eyed Jack, they inevitably began to panic.
The mutant crocodile seemed to be able to see through their fear. It gave up the Red-Eyed Jack under it and began to attack indiscriminately targeting the scattered Snakehead Gang members.
Screams rang out one after another, soon filling the entire underground platform.
This can't go on... Although Lin En had some conflicts with the Snakehead Gang, he could no longer stand idly by in the face of the giant crocodile's extremely brutal attack method and its heartbreaking screams.
“Shattered into pieces!”
Lynn seized the opportunity and decisively released the Exploding Spell at the crocodile.
Then a red light flashed, and the spell accurately hit the crocodile's huge body. It took effect quickly after only a few seconds, and actually blew the crocodile into countless blood clots.
Faced with such a situation, everyone was naturally confused, but they soon realized that they were saved.
They all turned around to look for the source of the red light, but just when they found a figure wearing a black windbreaker and a black mask, they were suddenly shocked by a new change -
A humanoid creature covered in blood suddenly crawled up from the bloodstained ground. He hunched his body in a twisted and exaggerated posture, looked around, then pounced on a person who blocked his sight, cruelly bit off his neck, then jumped up, jumped onto the hole in the wall, and fled, disappearing into the darkness.
Red-eyed Jack, who was bitten by a crocodile, mutated!
