Chapter 6: Breaking into a house

Views:

Lynn's house was inherited from his parents. It was a typical single-family residence with two floors, an attic and a basement. It was ordinary and usually no thieves would be interested in it.

And the person who came here was obviously not just a thief. He turned on the lights in the house so openly. Was he going to have a party here

Lin En carefully pressed himself to the side of the stairs, searching for any slight movement. He vaguely heard the sound of "dong dong dong" footsteps overhead, but they quickly disappeared.

It looked like he had to go upstairs.

Some of his important items, including cash and documents, were stored on the second floor and in the attic. If the person who came was really a thief, he would definitely not let go and search for them.

Lynn walked slowly up the stairs, looking around the corners warily.

Breaking into a private residence is considered a very sensitive and serious crime in New York. If you encounter an unfriendly neighbor at your door on a daily basis, you can use an excuse to sue him. In extreme cases, the owner can even drive him away with a gun.

Therefore, those who knowingly commit crimes are mostly desperate criminals.

Thinking of this, Lin En quickly reviewed the spells he could use now in his mind, in case he failed in a real fight.

Excluding functional spells like Luminescent, Lynn found that he could only cast three spells: Invisible Strike, Petrify Everything, and Inverted Bell.

The three spells were written down on the same page of the Half-Blood Prince's notes, so he was impressed.

Among them, Lin En's favorite is the Shadowless Spell. When he used this spell to repel the worms before, he found that this spell was quite easy to use. It was not as complicated as the Apparition Spell, and it could instantly cause damage to the opponent and make it lose the ability to move.

But he really didn't want to use this curse in his own home. The thought of blood splattering on the ceiling was horrifying.

He had used the Petrification Spell not long ago, and the effect was extraordinary, but the success rate was questionable.

As for the Fuchsia spell, this spell seems to be the simplest, but Lynn has not tried it so far, and the success rate cannot be guaranteed - you know, times have changed, this is not Hogwarts or London, and people here prefer to use guns.

When you hear the gun being loaded, you better hope you're uttering a spell and not your last words.

Lynn took a deep breath and stepped onto the last step of the stairs. Now he could clearly hear a sound like drunken mumbling and smell a foul odor.

Damn, the person was not on the second floor, but ran to the attic.

The attic of this house is a hidden design, and the stairs to the attic need to be pulled down from the second-floor ceiling. In this case, if Lin En wants to get close to the other party, it will definitely make a lot of noise, after all, the sound of the folding ladder is quite harsh.

After pondering for a moment, Lynn decided to take the initiative. He looked at the baseball bat hanging on the wall next to him, thoughtfully.

A moment later, a dull sound was heard, and Lynn hit the attic floor hard with a baseball bat.

This naturally alarmed the people above, and several inarticulate voices were heard.

"Green, what the hell, didn't you say there's no one here?"

"Believe me, brother, I saw little Lynn disappear on the road with my own eyes. It's exactly the same as the story that's been circulating recently. Relax, it might be a damn cat."

"Go and have a look."

Damn it, it's Green El!

After hearing this, Lin En frowned. This guy thought he had gone to see God and actually teamed up with other homeless people to extort money.

“Crack—”

A grid on the ceiling came loose, and then a folding wooden ladder came down. Green El climbed down unsteadily, holding a pistol in his hand.

"Little cat, where are you?" He seemed to have just taken something and was not very clear-headed.

However, what answered him was a blow.

Just before he fell, Green El saw Lynn's figure, and with his last bit of consciousness he made an expression of shock and astonishment.

Lin En suddenly felt that he didn't need a wand to deal with this kind of garbage, a baseball bat would be enough. Moreover, he had to chant the spell out loud, which was far less covert and direct than physical attacks.

Lin En squatted down, patted Green El's face, and took out his gun after making sure he was really unconscious. This guy really wanted to be lucky. He even loaded the gun when he was high, and he was not afraid of being shot.

After doing all this, Lynn looked at the folding ladder in the attic. There should be a guy named George up there. As long as he was dealt with, he could have a good sleep today.

Lynn was lucky. When he went up to the attic, the guy named George was still in a psychedelic state and he didn't notice anything unusual.

The light here was dim and the air was stuffy. It was hard for Lin En to understand why the other party chose to lie here. It was not until he saw several bottles of wine lying crookedly on the ground that he understood why.

They were a few bottles of precious red wine, inherited from parents just like this house. They were quite vintage and had great collection value.

Lin En felt a pang of pain in his heart. As far as he could remember, his current financial situation was not very good. These bottles of wine were the original owner's treasures. He had planned to sell them after graduating from high school and buy a car.

But now, the car has become a pile of empty bottles, all trampled.

Thinking of this, Lin En became furious and walked straight to the strange man lying on the floor with a baseball bat. After weighing it for a few times, he hit the man on the neck with the bat.

Poor George, he just saw someone in front of him and before he could react, he screamed and fainted.

But that’s not the end of it.

"Who are you!"

Suddenly, a voice came from behind him. Lin En didn't expect that there was a third person here.

Damn it!

He turned around hastily and found a bald man in a dark corner holding a gun, pointing it at him tremblingly.

He seemed to be awakened by George's shouting earlier, and after seeing his companion fainted on the ground, he began to scream hysterically:

"F**K! How dare you touch the Snakehead Gang's people!"

Lin En didn't care what the Snakehead Gang was, because he found that the man in front of him was in a very bad condition. He was shaking all over and couldn't control the gun in his hand at all.

"Petrify everyone!" Almost immediately, Lynn drew out his wand.

But what he didn't expect was that although the other party fell to the ground, the gun still went off.

The huge impact force hit his abdomen, and Lin En felt as if he was hit by a car.

A few seconds later, an extremely intense pain surged into his brain. His abdomen seemed to be constantly burning and tearing.

Then, a feeling of exhaustion and weakness swept over his body, and he felt like he was almost going into shock.

Lin En suppressed his dizziness and looked down, and found that there was a hole in his clothes, a pool of blood and flesh, and a bright red color seeping out from the surrounding area.

Shit, he was shot!
