Chasing the Light

Chapter 51: Silly girl

Views:

Su Ran was splattered with blood. She looked down at X's bloody face and began to tremble uncontrollably. She couldn't even hold the gun and it fell to the ground.

This wasn't her first time killing someone. She had killed a sniper before, but that was far away and she didn't see the bloody scene, so she wasn't afraid. But now...

This man died right in front of him, killed by her own hands, in a horrible way.

Even though X is a heinous villain, it is still a life after all.

"Su Ran..." Han Dong called weakly from behind.

Su Ran came back to her senses with a start. Thinking that Han Dong was injured, she no longer cared about the fact that she had killed someone, and quickly ran towards Han Dong.

Han Dong's face was as pale as gold paper, his face was covered with sweat, and his eyes were dull. There was no trace of his former fierce momentum.

"Instructor Han, where are you hurt?" Su Ran's heart sank little by little. She frantically looked for his wound. She touched his back and found it wet. She took her hand back and saw that her palm was covered in blood.

She remembered that he had turned her around while holding her, then pushed her away, and that was when she heard the gunshot.

"Were you injured when you saved me?" Su Ran asked with a trembling voice, tears falling down her face.

Han Dong smiled weakly: "It has nothing to do with you, it was my own carelessness."

How could it not matter? He was the one who saved her, otherwise she would be the one lying here now. Su Ran shook her head desperately, tears streaming down her face.

"Don't cry!" Han Dong raised his hand to wipe the tears from her face. People say that women are made of water, but his mother and sister at home are tougher than men, and he never had the chance to see it. Now he finally sees it.

"Although you look good when you cry, you look better when you smile." Han Dong said, coughing a few times, and blood foam kept overflowing from his mouth.

But he was still smiling, his eyes gentle.

Really, he liked to see her smile, with the corners of her mouth curved, revealing neat, white, and small teeth. She looked a little cunning and very cute, like the sun in the brightest weather.

Su Ran hurriedly wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, but it wouldn't come out clean no matter how hard she tried. She was extremely scared and said incoherently, "You'll be fine, you'll definitely be fine..."

Han Dong grabbed her hand to stop her from doing anything futile.

"Su Ran, you performed very well and bravely today." He said with difficulty. He had never praised her properly. He wanted to praise her many times, but he was stingy. However, she performed so well today, he couldn't be stingy anymore. Maybe he would never have another chance.

"Don't talk anymore..." Su Ran's heart was broken as she watched the blood flowing out of the corner of his mouth.

"Su Ran, don't be sad. It is an honor for a soldier to die on the battlefield..."

Su Ran shook her head desperately, tears flowing like a river bursting its banks, she sobbed uncontrollably: "I don't want you to be glorious, I don't want you to die, what should I do if you die? I like you! This is the first time I've fallen in love with someone, and I was thinking that one day you would like me too, and we could be like ordinary couples, shopping, eating, watching movies, you shooting... I'll load your bullets, you go on missions, and I'll wait for you to come back..."

Oh my god, someone help her...

Su Ran couldn't stop crying.

Han Dong stared at her sadly, with a layer of mist in his eyes.

He had been deceiving himself. For some reason, he didn't want to believe her and accept her. In fact, he knew that he liked her, liked her stubbornness and courage, her integrity and kindness.

He smiled, and raised his hand with difficulty to touch her hair. Her head was covered in blood, X's blood. She was so disheveled at the moment, but... so beautiful.

"Silly girl..." he whispered softly.

If there is an afterlife, he will never miss her again.

Han Dong's pupils dilated and his hands dropped heavily. Su Ran's figure was still reflected in his wide-open eyes and there was still a smile on the corner of his mouth.

Su Ran was stunned and called out softly, "Instructor Han."

But he could no longer respond to her.

She slowly moved over and hugged his body. The pain deep in her soul exploded like a magnitude 10 earthquake wave. Su Ran looked up to the sky and let out a heart-wrenching roar... Ah...

More than half an hour later, two military vehicles stopped in front of the county hospital. The doctors and nurses who had been notified in advance quickly pushed stretchers forward, picked up the injured, and rushed them to the emergency room.

Hummingbird and others wanted to follow into the emergency room but were stopped by the nurse: "Wait outside."

"You must save them." said the hummingbird with red eyes.

"We will do our best."

The door of the emergency room was closed. Su Ran stood there staring blankly at the door. The corridor was deathly silent at first, and then a whimpering sound was heard, vibrating muffledly in the chest. Someone was crying.

More and more crying.

Su Ran's eyes were dull as she searched slowly for the source of the crying. She only saw a group of tough guys squatting in the corner crying like abandoned children.

She also wanted to cry, but she didn't want to cry. She thought Instructor Han was dead before, but a few minutes later his heartbeat miraculously recovered. As long as he was still alive, she would not cry. She couldn't cry. Crying was unlucky.

Su Ran sat down silently on the lounge chair. Now she could only pray that he could survive this life-and-death crisis.

After Jiang Xinyan arrived at the county hospital, she chatted with the director of thoracic surgery for a while, and then went to find Vice President Wang to reminisce about the past. Vice President Wang was her senior brother, named Wang Yang, who came down here on a temporary assignment for training.

It was almost time for dinner, Wang Yang said with a smile: "Let's go, I'll treat you to dinner."

"Let me make it clear first, I don't eat in the cafeteria." Jiang Xinyan joked.

"How can that be possible? It's so rare for you to come here, so I must treat you to the best food."

As the two were about to go out, the phone on the desk rang.

"Wait a moment." Wang Yang went back to answer the phone.

Xu Yu Wang Yang said solemnly: "Xinyan, the hospital has just received two seriously injured soldiers, I need your assistance."

Soldiers? Jiang Xinyan's heart skipped a beat, and she said decisively, "Let's go."

The two hurried downstairs and went straight to the emergency room, but saw Su Ran at the door of the emergency room.

Jiang Xinyan stopped and said, "Su Ran, why are you here?"

When Jiang Xinyan saw Su Ran, covered in blood and with torn clothes, hanging out with a group of soldiers, a bad idea suddenly occurred to her mind.

When Su Ran saw Jiang Xinyan, her eyes suddenly lit up. She quickly stood up and said anxiously, "Doctor Jiang, please save Instructor Han. He is seriously injured."

Jiang Xinyan's mind buzzed, and she said in disbelief: "You said the injured person was Han Dong?"

Su Ran nodded vigorously, thinking: That's great, with Doctor Jiang here, Instructor Han's chances of survival have increased. Doctor Jiang is an expert in the provincial hospital's thoracic surgery department, and his medical skills must be much better than the doctors in this small hospital.

Jiang Xinyan first walked quickly, then ran and rushed into the emergency room.

The second update is here!
