Chapter 10: My family is professional

Gabriel Truman didn't have any better solution. He accepted Albert's proposal. Being expelled from Hogwarts was a result he could not accept in any way.

After writing the letter, Truman looked at the owl that flew away, then looked at Albert and asked, "Is this really all right?"

"The school is probably also shocked. I don't think they will expel a student at will. At least they will find out what's going on." Albert comforted him. The freckled boy calmed down a little. It should be said that he was infected by Albert's calmness.

"Can you lend me that letter?" Albert asked.

"Oh, here, it was an unexpected disaster." Truman smiled bitterly, "During the summer vacation of my first year, I was warned by the Ministry of Magic for using magic in front of my family."

He handed the letter to Albert and explained, "Students at Hogwarts are not allowed to use magic outside of school."

"But why wasn't Albert warned after using magic?" Nia was puzzled.

"It's probably because he hasn't gone to school yet." Truman wasn't really sure.

"It should be some loophole." Albert began to read the contents of the parchment:

Dear Mr. Truman: We have received information that you performed a levitation spell in front of a Muggle in a Muggle-populated area at 10:40 noon.

Seeing this, Albert felt a little complicated. He knew who the Muggles here referred to. He took a deep breath, sorted out his complicated emotions, and continued reading.

This behavior is a serious violation of the "Law on Reasonable Restraint of Underage Wizards", and you have been expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

A representative of the Ministry of Magic will be dispatched to your residence shortly to destroy your wand.

As you have already been formally warned for violating Article 13 of the International Statute of Secrecy, we regret to inform you that you must appear at the Ministry of Magic at 10:00 am on August 17th to appear for trial.

I hope you take good care of yourself.

Yours faithfully, Mafalda Hopkirk Ministry of Magic Abuse of the Department of Magic is prohibited.

"I suggest that after this matter is resolved, we apply to the Ministry of Magic for mental damages." Albert's family members are all lawyers, and he has learned a little bit about how to exploit legal loopholes.

Truman was a little dazed. He didn't even understand what was going on. The other party actually asked him to apply for mental compensation from the Ministry of Magic

"I dare say that the Ministry of Magic must have a way to monitor this area, but they can't figure out who used magic." Albert continued, "I came here for the summer vacation with my sister a few days ago. Because you happened to run into us, the Ministry of Magic thought you used the levitation spell and was going to expel you. In fact, this was a serious mistake on their part. Moreover, this letter scared you a lot, right? You almost lost control just now. You definitely have to pay for mental damages."

"Yes, it's completely reasonable to ask for compensation for mental damage." Nia agreed.

"My family are all lawyers, so I know these things better than you." Albert continued to instigate, "Someone will definitely come over later, or at least someone will write a letter. Anyway, first clear up your affairs. Then, accuse the Ministry of Magic of their mistakes and ask them to compensate you for the cost of being frightened. Ask them for 100 Galleons."

"Isn't that too much?" Truman was startled by Albert's lion-like mouth.

"That will make it easier to explain." Albert said without hesitation, "At least 50 Galleons is not too much. If it's less than that, don't ask for it, lest they think the child is fooling around. Adults are like this, so they think the child is easy to deal with."

"If the Ministry of Magic doesn't pay, I can write you a letter and let the Daily Prophet expose this matter anonymously. I believe they will be willing to pay you 50 Galleons. However, you need to give me half of the money you get as the fee for writing the letter for you." Albert's words made Truman feel that this kid was really... amazing.

Hogwarts, the headmaster's office, Dumbledore had just received a notice from the Ministry of Magic, informing him that Gabriel Truman had been expelled from the Ministry of Magic for using a levitation spell in front of Muggles.

This was not good news. Truman had a criminal record. During the summer vacation of his first year, he was warned by the Ministry of Magic for using magic in front of his family.

Just as Dumbledore was about to go to the Ministry of Magic to confirm the situation, a letter from an owl surprised him greatly.

The letter described that Truman had nothing to do with the incident. He just happened to meet a new student who was about to enter the school practicing the levitation spell in the park, and the Muggle was referring to the other person's sister.

It didn't seem like a lie, because there was another letter inside the letter, and his owner was Albert Anderson.

In the letter, Albert expressed regret for bringing unnecessary disaster to Truman and said that he could testify for him if necessary.

Dumbledore found the name in his memory. It was indeed a first-year student from a Muggle family.

Dumbledore couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. He felt that this was most likely the case. Expelling a student was definitely not something he, as the headmaster, wanted to see.

Dumbledore immediately went to the Ministry of Magic and talked about the letter and the incident with the people in the Improper Use of Magic Department. The matter was not serious enough to require a trial, but if it was just an accident, the Ministry of Magic might become a laughing stock.

After all, both Dumbledore and the people in the Ministry of Magic knew about the loopholes in Trace.

The facts were similar to what Albert had guessed. Someone from the Ministry of Magic came and he met Dumbledore. The old man looked at the two children talking in the park with a smile.

"It seems that this should be a misunderstanding." Dumbledore said to the Ministry of Magic staff around him with a smile.

"I think you must be Headmaster Dumbledore." Albert looked at Dumbledore, stretched out his hand to shake his hand and said, "You look like the picture of the Chocolate Frog."

"Mr. Albert?" Dumbledore looked at Albert and said with a smile, "We received your letter, child. Can you give me your wand?"

"Oh, of course no problem." Albert knew what Dumbledore wanted to do, so he gave him the wand anyway.

As expected, after using it, the principal detected the magic used in the last few days.

He looked at Albert with a bit of surprise, surprised that this kid could master five magics in just a few days.

"Truman just corrected my hand gestures for the levitation spell, which I just mastered," Albert explained.

"Where's your wand?" the wizard from the Ministry of Magic looked at Truman.

"I didn't bring it with me. I left it at home. If you need to check it, you can come back with me to get it." Truman was very confident. He was not afraid of inspection anyway.

"It seems this is a misunderstanding, Nutley," said Dumbledore with a smile.

"Yeah, I think so." Nutley nodded. "I think I need to write a new report."
