Chapter 1016: Albert's Secret

Views:

"You told them about the Room of Requirement?"

As soon as Katrina sat down in the empty seat next to her, she stared at Albert with a reproachful look.

Originally, few people knew about the existence of the Room of Requirement, and no one came to grab it when it was in use. But ever since the people from the Defense Association learned of the existence of the Room of Requirement, it has often been occupied by others.

"Fred told Potter." Albert closed the thick book and looked at the completed "Reading Maniac" task prompt, and couldn't help but feel relieved.

This damn mission is finally completed.

To be honest, the reward for this quest was a bit of a rip-off. The panel skills given were too random, and Albert didn't really have high hopes for it. But after all, it was a quest he had been doing for several years, and Albert was always worried when he didn't complete it.

After finishing it, I really felt relaxed and had a sense of accomplishment.

He no longer needs to spend a lot of time in the library to continue reading books.

When Albert closed the book and was about to return it, he noticed that Katrina was still staring at him.

"What's wrong?" Albert asked puzzledly.

Katrina said nothing. She didn't believe that the Weasley brothers would leak the news of the Room of Requirement to others without informing Albert.

After all, that place was their secret base, so this must have been agreed by Albert.

"Nothing!" The red-haired girl sighed and suddenly said, "Would you mind giving me a copy of your latest book? I remember it's called 'Survival Guide'."

"Oh, of course no problem." Albert raised his eyebrows slightly and agreed readily, "I'll let Dobby send it to you."

"I really don't know what you are thinking." Katrina felt that the establishment of the Defense Association had something to do with Albert.

"They have to learn how to resist, so that they will have the courage to stand up and resist in the future." When Albert was about to return the book, he seemed to have thought of something and took out a notebook from his traceless stretch bag and handed it to Katrina, "This is the key point of the Defense Against the Dark Arts exam. After you have mastered the knowledge points in it, we will continue the class."

"Isobel's notes?"

Katrina took the note, recognizing her sister's handwriting immediately, and looked up at Albert.

"Yes, the ones marked on it are the key points." Albert said and walked towards the library counter, ready to return the book he had just finished reading.

"What a perfunctory guy," Katrina muttered.

She put Isobel's notes away. With this thing on hand, the Defense Against the Dark Arts exam next summer would be much easier. Although she felt that she could get a good grade even without looking at the notes, the girl still hoped that she could graduate from school with excellent grades.

Although she knew that this transcript might not be useful, she was already far behind Albert and Isobel in many aspects. Katrina did not want her S score to be too far behind them. That was the last bit of stubbornness in her heart.

Looking at Albert's departing back, Katrina retracted her gaze and took out a letter from her pocket. It was a letter from friends on the other side of the ocean. She had been keeping in touch with them and sharing the progress of the development of the beauty potion.

When Katrina opened the letter and read its contents, her expression froze for a moment. She raised her head and looked at Albert's departing back, frowning slightly.

Albert didn't know what Katrina saw in the letter. After leaving the library, he went straight back to the Gryffindor dormitory to take on the "Reading Maniac" mission.

Before accepting the mission, Albert was considering whether to use the Felicis. Although that thing could not bring him any substantial benefits, it could always provide some psychological comfort.

Although he was a European and always claimed to be a lucky man, Albert never considered himself to be very lucky.

The only problem is that the use of fulin has been quite a few times this year, and although it has been used separately and in small doses, it should still be avoided as much as possible.

After hesitating for a long time, Albert finally did not use the Felixir because he had not much of it left.

It's time to show your real luck!

Albert took the task directly.

Then, start flipping through the skill panels, searching for new rewards to earn.

In fact, Albert rarely looks at the panel anymore, because there are too many skills in the skill panel and there is no automatic search. Sometimes it is inconvenient to add some skills and he has to look for them slowly by himself.

He took out a small notebook and began to compare the skills listed in it. Only by comparing this thing could Albert be sure what new skills he had acquired.

After half an hour of comparison, Albert found two new level three skills.

As for why we can be sure that this is the reward for being a “maniac reader”

Because after acquiring new skills, it is impossible to reach level three in a short period of time.

The two additional third-level skills are the Hallucination Spell and the Elimination Spell.

The Hallucinogen Charm is a spell similar to a love potion, and Lockhart once said that Professor Flitwick was proficient in hallucinogen magic.

Albert carefully checked the effect of the spell and found that it was actually useless. The psychedelic spell was basically a love potion spell. Its effect was similar to that of a love potion. It would make people feel obsessed, but it could not create true love at all.

The only advantage is probably that the next generation may not be loveless people like Tom Riddle.

Albert actually didn't know whether it would happen or not, since it was not recorded on the panel.

The situation would be much better if the hallucinogenic spell could increase the favorability of both parties, but unfortunately there is no such spell at all. Even Gregory's flattery potion only makes the user obsessed.

As for the other elimination spell, it is actually a universal counter-spell, which has the effect of eliminating the impact of the spell. Albert actually knows many similar counter-spells, for example, Stop Spell is a commonly used counter-spell.

As for which one is better, Albert couldn't say for sure, he could only say that each has its uses.

For example, the Instant Curse has little effect on people who are under a coma spell, while the Curse of Dispelling can wake people up. However, it is not very effective against certain spells. Before further development and exploration, it can only be regarded as a good counter-curse.

As for the third spell, it was probably a spell he had already mastered before, so Albert didn't pay much attention to it. He was already satisfied to have obtained two new spells.

After putting the notebook back into the cabinet, Albert took out a box from the cabinet and prepared to go to the Room of Requirement to pack his things.

Ever since the members of the Defense Society knew of the existence of the Room of Requirement, it was no longer safe there. Albert felt it necessary to take the things in the Room of Requirement away to prevent anyone from accidentally breaking in and God knows what would happen.

On his way to the Room of Requirement, Albert ran into an acquaintance.

"Are you going to use the Room of Requirement?" Albert asked after looking around and making sure that there was no one around.

"Albert, you gave me a big shock." Hermione covered her chest with her hands and took a deep breath.

"Sorry, I thought you could hear the footsteps. Do you mind letting me use it for a while?" Albert smiled gently and said, "I'm about to graduate from school, so I plan to sort out the things here and take them away."

"Oh, of course." Hermione casually changed the subject, "Fred said you found a way to get into the Room of Requirement."

"I guess so. When Fred and George were out for a night stroll, they were forced to hide inside by Filch. Later, I found a way to enter the Room of Requirement based on their memories." Albert passed the wall three times, opened the door of the Room of Requirement, and walked in.

"here it is… "

Hermione followed Albert into the Room of Requirement and found that it was a private room with carpet on the floor. The walls of the room were emitting soft yellow light, a sofa, windows, heavy curtains, and a bed. It looked like someone's room.

"The Room of Requirement is very mysterious. I rest here occasionally." Albert opened the box and said to Hermione who was observing the room, "I won't take the furniture here. If you find a boyfriend in the future, you can bring him here for a date. The Room of Requirement is the best dating place in the school. No one will disturb your date. You can even ask the house elves to prepare a romantic candlelight dinner for you."

"Do you often date here?"

"I guess so." Albert waved his wand, and all the things he placed here flew towards Albert and were then put into the open box.

“But that was a long time ago,” he recalled.

"A long time ago?" Hermione was puzzled.

"Isobel has graduated for many years." Albert reminded with a smile, "This later became my private study. Fred and George also occasionally use some of the records here."

"It's a great place, really suitable for a date." Hermione suddenly understood why Albert came to pack up. She came to the window, opened the curtains and found two large windows behind the curtains. It was pouring rain outside. Hermione closed the curtains, sat down on the sofa, watching Albert packing up, occasionally chatting with him, and sometimes scanning and looking around the room, her eyes fell on the bed.

After Albert finished packing his things, he gently waved his wand and saw a door appear in the corner of the room. Behind the door was a narrow room with a large cabinet.

"What is this?" Hermione looked at Albert curiously as he moved the cabinet out of the room.

"The Vanishing Cabinet can connect two places and allow people to leave here immediately." Albert waved his wand and moved the Vanishing Cabinet into another suitcase.

"You used it to leave Hogwarts?" Hermione guessed the reason. No wonder she heard that Albert sometimes disappeared.

"Yes, it is not easy to leave Hogwarts quietly, but we can always find other ways." After Albert packed up everything in the room, he motioned Hermione to follow him.

Albert then re-entered the Room of Requirement.

This time, Hermione found herself in a room with many windows. There were many flower pots in the room, and various plants were planted in the pots.

"This place can't be..."

"Yes, this is the greenhouse. We got some things from the school greenhouse and cultivate them here. You probably don't know that there are many plants in the school that are rarely seen outside. Fred and George also need to pick some raw materials from here when making those magical candies. The house-elves will help me water and fertilize them regularly." Albert signaled Hermione not to get too close. Some plants are very dangerous, and Albert always treats them with caution.

"this… "

Hermione was so surprised that she couldn't speak. She never expected that Albert had done so many things in school, and many of them were probably illegal. But Hermione pursed her lips and finally said nothing.

"As long as you are not discovered, it is not illegal." Albert said self-deprecatingly, "This is the law of the Ministry of Magic. I am just using it."

Albert opened another layer of the box, took Hermione back a distance, raised his wand and waved it at the flower pots in the flower bed, making all the pots with various plants fly into the box. He breathed a sigh of relief only after Albert cast a spell to lock that layer of the box.

There is no way. There are many dangerous plants in there, and we have to be careful to avoid capsizing in the ditch.

"I remember Sirius said something similar," Hermione muttered.

"Let's go!"

Albert left the Room of Requirement with the box, and when they went back in, Hermione found herself in a room that looked like a potions classroom.

She walked to the test bench next to her and picked up a test tube labeled A3 from the shelf. There were many similar test tubes or crystal bottles in the cabinet next to it. This should be where Albert used to brew potions.

"I remember that in my second year, I often stayed in the girls' bathroom on the second floor to make compound potions." Hermione couldn't help laughing when she thought of it. "If I had a good place like this, I wouldn't have to stay in the bathroom all day."

"When you turned into a cat."

"Yeah, it was a mistake. It's a bad memory." Hermione picked up a test tube of pink potion and asked Albert, "What is this?"

"This is the most primitive version of beauty potion. The effect is not very good, but I think girls should like it. If you want, you can take all the beauty potions in the cabinet." Albert reminded with a smile, "There should be some that are sealed with wax that can be used."

"Beauty potion?" Hermione knew what beauty potions were, but she was not interested in them because the so-called beauty potions could not make yourself beautiful, but turn you into a beautiful person.

"It's not what you think. The thing in your hand is actually used to clean your face. It's inspired by Muggle facial cleansers. Regular use is indeed effective and can make your skin more delicate." Albert smiled and pinched his cheek and said, "I'm actually using it too. The latest improved beauty potion is quite effective."

"You invented it?" Hermione was surprised. She knew very well how popular this thing would be among the girls.

"I guess so." Albert said casually, "However, the beauty potions here are all the results of Isobel's improvement. The girls are always very persistent and passionate about making themselves beautiful."

"I can understand how she feels," Hermione whispered.

Albert only took away some of the potions, all the equipment and herbs, and left the rest here because most potions could not be stored for too long if they were not strictly preserved.

"What are these?"

Vomiting, dizziness, nosebleed, diarrhea, fever, laughing wildly... Hermione saw a labeled medicine bottle on a cabinet, and the expression on her face suddenly became strange.

"The ingredients Fred and George use to make quick-acting skipping candy." Albert said casually.

"Quick-acting candy for skipping classes?"

"It's a bit like the intelligence-enhancing candy I gave you last time, but it has different effects."

Albert finally put the potion ingredients from the cabinet in front of Hermione into the box and prepared to leave.

"Don't you want all these things anymore?" Hermione asked, pointing at the items in another cabinet.

"No," said Albert.

"These are all magical items!" Hermione recognized what the things on them were. There were mostly defense bracelets and defense amulets.

"They are all out of service and can no longer be used." After packing up his things, Albert was in no hurry to leave. He checked the entire laboratory again to see if there was anything he had left behind.

“Is this a communication bookmark?”

"Yes, that's the original version of the communication bookmark." Albert introduced, "The principle is actually very simple, it's the Transfiguration Spell. It's just that students who don't know how to use the Transfiguration Spell can't use it."

"How were the later communication bookmarks made?" Hermione asked curiously.

"That involves the advanced use of transmutation spells." Albert did not hide it, because there were very few wizards who could reach that level, and it would be difficult for him alone to make any new progress on the communication bookmark.

"I think the Defense Association also needs a tool to transmit messages." Hermione had thought about asking Albert for a way to create a communication bookmark to solve the problem of contact between DA members, but she found that it was not easy to achieve the level of a communication bookmark.

"There are many ways to use the Transfiguration Charm. You can use it in newspapers." Albert gave Hermione some ideas. "Anyway, you only need to use it to convey the meeting time, not to exchange information."

"You're right, I originally planned to make them into magic gold coins." Hermione briefly explained her plan.

"You have a good idea. Umbridge will definitely not recognize it. Her magical attainments are very ordinary."
