Chapter 123: Protective bracelet

"Do you know what's in here?" Li Qiaodan pointed to a square box on the table. "When I first came in, I smelled the aroma of food."

"I don't know. But it smells so good. Do you want to open it and take a look?" George immediately came over and stared at the box in front of them that exuded the aroma of food together with Lee Jordan.

"What do you think... could this be the midnight snack that Albert brought for us from the kitchen?" Fred stared at the box in front of him and speculated.

"Where is he?" George said, "Just ask him."

"Take a hot shower in the bathroom." Li Jordan reminded.

"How about, let's open it and take a look!" The three of them looked at each other and said in unison.

The next second, the three of them couldn't help laughing.

George moved the fastest and immediately reached out to open the box, and a rich fragrance wafted out.

The three of them immediately leaned forward to see clearly what was inside.

A dish of... food

That’s right, a dish, a very strange one, a dish I’ve never seen before

But it smells really good.

"Let me try it for everyone first." George picked up a piece and put it directly into his mouth, chewing it for a few times. "It seems to be eggs, and... those green things seem to be... garlic?"

"Asshole, don't use your hands, there's a fork next to you." Fred shouted dissatisfiedly: "Let me try, it seems that Albert has made something weird again."

"So, he did this himself?" Li Qiaodan asked curiously.

"It was probably done by the house-elf in the kitchen," the twins said in unison.

"It tastes good." Li Qiaodan just put the food on the fork into his mouth and suddenly said, "What do you think, should we leave some for him?"

As they were talking, the food on the three people's plates was empty.

"It seems... it's too late." George muttered softly.

As they were talking, the dormitory door opened. The three of them looked towards the door and put down their forks at the same time.

"What's wrong with you?" Albert looked at the three people in confusion, his eyes moved down to the open box, his face twitching slightly, "Have you finished eating?"

"I couldn't help it," said Fred awkwardly.

"What's the name of this dish? It tastes really good." Li Jordan tried to change the subject, but George covered his mouth with his hand.

"Sorry." The three said in unison.

"Garlic scrambled eggs," Albert said calmly.

"garlic… "

“… scrambled eggs?”

Speaking of garlic, Fred couldn't help but look at the pot of garlic on the window, and then the expression on his face froze.

Why is my garlic bald

"Garlic...could that be it?" Fred pointed to the plate of garlic with the leaves cut off.

"Um."

"You made it... into a dish?" George looked at the bare flowerpot, not knowing what to say for a moment.

"I see you guys are enjoying the food." Albert said unhappily, "Don't worry, spring is here, the garlic will sprout again soon."

The three were speechless.

By the way, this dish... is really good!

Li Qiaodan coughed lightly and asked curiously, "Did you do it yourself?"

"I asked the house elves to help fry it." Albert said with emotion, "Those little guys are quite good at cooking. I wonder if I can bring one back from Hogwarts to help with the housework after I graduate."

"Mom has always wanted an elf to help us cook, wash clothes and do housework." George muttered, "Unfortunately, there is no elf in my family."

"Don't even think about it," Fred explained. "Only old wizarding families, and wealthy ones, have house-elves."

"I don't have any at home either." Li Qiaodan shook his head.

"Maybe, if we pay enough Galleons, we can get it? The house-elf must have a source. Well, let me write this down first." Albert took out his little notebook and wrote this down.

"You wouldn't..." The three of them looked at Albert suspiciously.

"Most problems can be solved as long as we have Galleons." Albert explained, "Okay, let's not talk about this anymore. Help me do an experiment."

"What experiment?" George asked.

"Throw a pillow at me." Albert raised his wrist with the wooden bracelet.

"Are you sure?" The three of them grabbed their pillows and threw them at Albert, but the pillows seemed to hit a layer of strange stuff and actually spread out.

"How did you do it?" The three of them gathered around and curiously asked Albert how he blocked the pillow out of thin air.

"This..." Albert took off the wooden bracelet and said, "I made this a unique amulet. It has an armor charm that can resist evil spells and objects, and it can also effectively drive away dark magic creatures."

"I always feel like you're fooling me again." Fred took the wooden bracelet and looked at it carefully and asked, "But it's undeniable that it's really a magical thing. Could it be the effect of the strange symbols on the wooden bracelet?"

"I'm not sure yet." Albert shook his head. "This thing needs many attempts."

"It's my turn this time." Fred said, "How to use it."

"Wear it on your hand, or hold it in your hand," Albert said uncertainly, "it should work."

"I threw it." George threw the pillow at Fred, and the effect was triggered again, and the pillow bounced back.

"That's so cool, you made something really amazing." Lee Jordan was very surprised. "I think a lot of people will want this thing. You want... when someone is about to cast a spell on you, you can just raise your hand and block the curse. It's so cool."

"It's my turn now. I'll try the evil spell and see if it can really be deflected." George shouted to Albert excitedly, "Use the barrier spell."

"There are many obstacles." Albert motioned for several people to move aside, then picked up his wand and waved it. Before the spell hit George, it seemed to be blocked by something, and the spell bounced back. Lee Jordan, who was next to him, was affected and knocked out, hitting his head on the bed.

"Damn it, it hurts." Li Qiaodan covered his back and complained, "You must have done this on purpose."

Li Jordan just saw that bastard George reach out and cast the spell towards him.

"That's really cool. That's awesome."

“It’s unbelievable.”

The twins looked at each other and said in unison, "This thing will surely sell for several Galleons."

"You bunch of bastards, come and pull me up." Li Jordan complained.

"Sorry, I was too excited." George said apologetically, "Are you okay? I really didn't mean it just now."

"Now, it's my turn to take the test." Li Jordan took the wooden bracelet, got up from the ground, and shouted excitedly to Albert.

"Fainted." Albert also wanted to test the limit of the Iron Armor Spell on the wooden bracelet, so he did not refuse Li Jordan.

However, Li Qiaodan's luck seemed to be really bad. He was hit directly by the stun spell, and the wooden bracelet had no effect at all.

He held the wooden bracelet and fainted.

"The bracelet's protection has failed?" Fred asked curiously.

"Maybe it has reached its limit." Albert walked to Li Jordan and squatted down, guessing. "After all, this is just a test product, and it's normal to encounter such things."

"I think... Li Jordan's luck is not very good today." Fred looked at his unconscious roommate with a gloating look on his face.

"Now, what to do?" George asked. "Can you wake him up?"

"I think it's better to let him sleep like this until dawn." Albert said.

"I think so, too."
