Chapter 1247: Kill a lot

Views:

After the mysterious man and his minions reluctantly retreated, the entire Azkaban prison erupted in deafening cheers.

Few people present were really willing to fight the mysterious man. Even though they had made sufficient preparations in Azkaban prison, they might still suffer heavy losses without Dumbledore present to restrain the mysterious man.

No one wants to joke with their own life.

With the exception of Scrimgeour, the Minister of Magic showed no sign of being pleased at Voldemort's retreat.

"Minister, is there any problem?"

Gadwin Robards, the head of the Auror Office, noticed the boss's gloomy expression, quickly put away the smile on his face, and asked in a low voice.

"We will have to face You-Know-Who sooner or later." Scrimgeour looked at the delighted crowd and sighed heavily. "Maybe today is not the best time, but when is the best time? I have a feeling that I will never have such a good opportunity as tonight again."

As he spoke, he glanced at Gadwin and said, "It was already difficult for us to stop the You-Know-Who from breaking into the prison. Even if he retreats tonight, he may come back tomorrow."

"This... No way!"

Gadwin spoke uncertainly with his mouth slightly open.

"Our target is the You-Know-Who?" Scrimgeour frowned and reminded, "The most vicious Dark Lord in history is not some small-time character in the black market. Don't hold on to those unrealistic fantasies."

Gadwin froze as Scrimgeour abruptly revealed this cruel truth. He suddenly felt how harsh the laughter around him was, as if a group of idiots were celebrating their self-proclaimed victory, and he was just one of these idiots.

"Gadwin, when you have time, cooperate with Pierce to screen the prisoners in Azkaban. If the crime is minor, fine them a few Galleons and release them. This is to prevent Azkaban from being breached by the You-Know-Who one day. The prisoners here will be forced to become the You-Know-Who's minions whether they like it or not."

Gadwin Robards opened his mouth. He really wanted to tell Scrimgeour that his worries were unnecessary, but when he thought about the fact that the Minister of Magic had received private help from the master of prophecy Albert Anderson, he realized that the mysterious man's prison break in Azkaban was probably inevitable.

Gadwin had never doubted Albert's ability to predict the future. As long as he had a normal brain, he would realize that the Ministry of Magic was able to accurately strike dark wizards many times because of the help provided by the other party.

It was probably the same tonight, otherwise Scrimgeour would not have made such a decision.

"The You-Know-Who claimed that he was planning a prison break. This was a trap from the beginning. He just wanted to use it to delay us. Their target is actually Hogwarts. You can send someone over there to see what's going on. You should be able to get some good results." Scrimgeour was one of the few people who knew the "truth" of tonight. The only thing that disappointed him was that the Ministry of Magic failed to take advantage of this opportunity to severely damage the You-Know-Who's minions.

"Hogwarts?" Gadwin asked in confusion, "What does the You-Know-Who plan to do with Hogwarts?"

"His goal should be to assassinate Dumbledore."

Anyway, everything has passed, and Scrimgeour has no intention of hiding it any longer. He told the whole thing to his right-hand man.

"Are they crazy?" Gadwin really couldn't understand the Death Eaters' thoughts.

"I actually think so, but the You-Know-Who does intend to do that. Many Death Eaters have gone to Hogwarts. I think you will see them later."

"Wait, this was a trap from the beginning to the end?" Gadwin suddenly realized something. No wonder Scrimgeour looked so unhappy.

"Yes, it's a trap. If we succeed, the You-Know-Who will suffer heavy losses, and our lives will be much better in the next few years. Unfortunately, the You-Know-Who didn't attack Azkaban, and we missed this opportunity." Scrimgeour seemed to have noticed something and reached out to pull out a silver metal card from his robe pocket. A passage was emerging on the card, and it was obvious that someone was passing a message to Scrimgeour.

Gadwin suddenly found that their minister's face had become darker, as if a relative had just died, and his whole body exuded an aura of "I want to kill someone".

"Minister, are you okay?" he called softly.

"I'm fine, but Dumbledore is not fine, he's dead."

Speaking of this, Scrimgeour actually gritted his teeth, and several high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Magic around him were so shocked by the news that their eyes widened.

Finally, a trembling voice could not help but ask: "Dumbledore is dead?"

"This is impossible, how could Dumbledore die!" Kingsley was trembling slightly all over, and he suspected that the minister was joking.

"How did Dumbledore die!"

Mad-Eye Moody's voice was cold, and his hand holding the cane was shaking slightly.

"Snape betrayed and attacked Dumbledore."

Scrimgeour's face was dark. He turned his head and said to Percy beside him, "Go back and inform the Ministry of Magic. Ask them to prepare to issue a bounty for Snape and hold a press conference."

"Isn't Snape one of ours?" Tonks murmured. "Dumbledore swore he was on our side."

Not only Tonks, but other members of the Order of the Phoenix couldn't accept it.

"Gadwin, you take the Aurors to stay in Azkaban to prevent the You-Know-Who from suddenly coming back to break into the prison. You don't have to worry too much, because the You-Know-Who doesn't have many people around him. It is said that many Death Eaters participated in the assassination of Dumbledore and died in Hogwarts."

After Scrimgeour finished speaking, he turned his head and looked at Pierce, the Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, who was standing beside him. "I hope you can cooperate with Gadwin to sort out the prisoners in Azkaban as soon as possible, and allow those with lighter crimes to be released on bail after paying a fine. If Dumbledore is unfortunately killed, the You-Know-Who will come to jail one day."

"Kings, Dawlish, take your Auror team and come with me to Hogwarts." Scrimgeour continued to make arrangements. "It is said that when the Death Eaters attacked Hogwarts, they released a large number of Inferi. Hogwarts needs someone to help clean up the mess."

During this time, Scrimgeour had become thoroughly familiar with his role as Minister and made arrangements in an orderly manner. Then, he led the Auror team and members of the Order of the Phoenix to Hogwarts.

When everyone Apparated and appeared at the gate of Hogwarts, they found the surprise gift package that Albert had left for them: a dozen guys who were obviously not good people were lying on the ground.

"It seems that many people will be buried with Dumbledore tonight." Scrimgeour turned to ask Kings, "Did you bring the truth serum?"

"I brought it." Jins nodded.

“Very good, we will give it to them later. Once it is confirmed that they are dark wizards and have committed unforgivable crimes, they will be executed on the spot. There is no need to bother the Wizengamot Court.” Scrimgeour said murderously: “Anyway, the You-Know-Who will break into the prison sooner or later. Rather than giving them the opportunity to continue to harm others, it is better to make them harmless forever and avoid more victims because of them in the future.”

It was no wonder that Scrimgeour was so angry. Albert had told him that once Dumbledore died, the You-Know-Who's next assassination target would be him, and he would basically have no way of escaping it unless he was willing to play dead and give up the position of Minister of Magic. But how could Scrimgeour be willing to accept such an outcome!

"yes!"

Kings was surprised, but did not object to Scrimgeour's impromptu decision.

In the past year, the Ministry of Magic has dealt with too many dark wizards, and now only a few dozen more will die.

"Dawlish, take your team to help deal with the Inferi on campus. The rest of you, follow me into the castle to deal with the captured Death Eaters." Scrimgeour made a gesture, indicating that the others should follow.

They easily dealt with the Inferi that blocked their way and headed straight for Hogwarts Castle.

Scrimgeour did not prioritize asking Professor McGonagall about what happened tonight. Instead, he went to confirm the subdued Death Eaters. There were more than a dozen of them in total, and many of them were Death Eaters.

"Are you really going to..."

Mad-Eye Moody looked at the Minister, as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.

"When did you become indecisive?" Scrimgeour sneered. "Did Dumbledore catch your infection? Avada Kedavra!"

A green light suddenly lit up in the room, making people's eyes hurt.

"Avada Kedavra, Avada Kedavra..."

Scrimgeour, like a madman, sent Avada Kedavra to all the subdued Death Eaters...

Everyone around couldn't help but shiver, looking at Scrimgeour with awe as he slaughtered Death Eaters and dark wizards.

"I never thought I would use the Killing Curse so often in my life." Scrimgeour looked at the bodies scattered all over the ground without paying attention to the looks of the people around him. He said self-deprecatingly, "What do you think those reporters will say about me, the minister who kills people like crazy?"

"Minister, are you okay?" Tonks looked at Scrimgeour anxiously.

"I'm fine. Very good. It's a pity that You-Know-Who didn't send more Death Eaters here. Otherwise, they could have all been killed and the entire Ministry of Magic would have been at peace for a long time. However, with so many Death Eaters dying tonight, You-Know-Who will probably be mad!" Scrimgeour turned his head to look at the frightened dark wizard and asked directly, "How did the interrogation go?"

Kingsley shook his head and said, "They are all dark wizards, many of them have Muggle blood..."

"Then get rid of them all." Scrimgeour raised his wand and pointed it at the dark wizard, then cruelly cast the killing curse: "Avada Kedavra!"

I don’t know if it was because the killing was too easy, but the green light hit the black wizard, causing him to fall with his head tilted back.

"There's no need to interrogate the rest. Just get rid of them all and save some truth serum." Scrimgeour raised his wand again, ready to kill all the remaining dark wizards, but his wand was suddenly grabbed by Kingslay.

"Minister, calm down."

"Calm down. How can you expect me to calm down?" Scrimgeour glared at Kingslai. "With your clever brain, you should know very well that Voldemort's next goal is to kill me and then control the Ministry of Magic by controlling the next Minister of Magic. Every Death Eater and every dark wizard now will become a scourge under Voldemort's control in the future. It is the most correct thing to do to kill them now. Maybe we can save many innocent people in this way."

"To be kind to your enemies is to be cruel to yourself. Look at Dumbledore. If he wasn't so naive, how could he have lost his life for no apparent reason? I don't believe that Albert Anderson didn't remind him that there was something wrong with Snape."

Albert did not convince Scrimgeour based on the prophecy. He made a complete plan and cooperated with Scrimgeour to gradually weaken the forces around Voldemort. Eventually, they would use the power of the entire British wizarding community to completely strangle Voldemort.

Albert's plan had been going smoothly, but Dumbledore inexplicably lost his life tonight, causing the originally good situation to collapse directly and completely breaking Scrimgeour's defense.

He was supposed to defeat the mysterious man and become the greatest Minister of Magic in British history, but he was about to be assassinated by Voldemort and died in the line of duty. How could Scrimgeour not be angry!
