Chapter 1248: Death of a traitor

Views:

Late at night, one dark shadow after another swept in from the horizon, passed through the translucent defensive barrier outside the old manor, and appeared directly in the manor hall.

Looking at Voldemort and his Death Eaters surrounded by darkness, Malfoy shrank his neck in awe. If Snape hadn't held him down, who knows what kind of embarrassment would have happened to him in front of the Dark Lord.

"Severus, it seems you have brought me good news."

Voldemort, who was summoned back from Azkaban, narrowed his eyes slightly and looked at the four people present.

"Yes, master, I have completed the task and successfully killed Albus Dumbledore!" After Snape looked up at Voldemort's emotionless scarlet eyes, he immediately stated the reason for using the Dark Mark to summon the Dark Lord.

As soon as he finished speaking, whispers broke out in the living room. Everyone looked at Snape in disbelief, unable to believe that he could actually kill Dumbledore.

That's Dumbledore!

The Dark Lord and the Death Eaters' greatest enemy ever.

“You did a great job.”

Voldemort was in a good mood. As long as Dumbledore was dead, no one could stop him.

Noticing Snape's hesitant expression, Voldemort asked directly, "Is there anything else?"

"We were ambushed by Albert Anderson when we were evacuating Hogwarts, and everyone except the four of us..." Snape lowered his head even more.

A terrifying murderous aura suddenly emanated from Voldemort's scarlet eyes, causing the Death Eaters around him to lower their heads.

"Master, we are no match for that Mudblood. He knocked down most of us easily as soon as he showed up. We managed to escape thanks to the cover of others." Avery noticed Voldemort's gaze on him and spoke quickly, "It seems that the Mudblood knew where we would retreat from the beginning."

There was a suffocating atmosphere in the hall, and all the Death Eaters held their breath, fearing that they would be affected by the Dark Lord's wrath.

There's nothing we can do, it's just too tragic.

Except for the Death Eaters who followed the Dark Lord to Azkaban to break out of the prison, the other Death Eaters followed Bella to Hogwarts to assassinate Dumbledore. As a result, except for Snape and the other four, all of them died in Hogwarts.

Fell at the hands of the Mudbloods.

"Master, Bella led people to try to surround and kill the Mudblood..." Avery was hit by the Cruciatus Curse before he finished speaking, and fell to the ground struggling in pain. "Master, you must be wary of the Mudblood. He is already at the level of Dumbledore."

"Alecto, you speak."

Voldemort looked at the people he had placed next to Snape.

Alecto Caro began to tell the story:

They relied on Mr. Malfoy's Vanishing Cabinet to sneak into Hogwarts, then released the Dark Mark on the Astronomy Tower to attract Dumbledore, and Bella led the team to successfully besiege Dumbledore, but Dumbledore seemed to know they were coming, because Snape betrayed everyone and told Dumbledore in advance that Death Eaters would come to Hogwarts to assassinate him.

Having said that, all the Death Eaters couldn't help but look at Snape.

"We besieged Dumbledore together using the Felicia Rinpoche, but we were still no match for him. Finally, I escaped by jumping off the tower with three of us and waited for Snape in the Forbidden Forest, because Snape once said that he planned to use us as bait, so we needed to make sure whether he would betray his master."

"Master, Dumbledore knew about this from Albert Anderson a long time ago." Snape explained: "After Dumbledore mentioned this to me, I had to cooperate with him in order to gain his trust and kill him when Dumbledore subdued the others and was most relaxed. In fact, this plan worked very well."

Through a brief conversation, the Death Eaters figured out what had happened, which was that a large group of Death Eaters, after taking Felix Felicis, went to surround and kill Dumbledore, but were still defeated head-on by the old guy.

Later, it was thanks to Snape's despicable backstab that the old immortal was killed. Even they had to admit Snape's foresight in not cooperating with Bella to surround and kill Dumbledore, otherwise all of them would have been killed.

Except for a few unlucky ones, most of the Death Eaters who participated in the siege of Dumbledore were still alive, but when they were about to retreat from Hogwarts, they were blocked by Albert Anderson.

What happened next was just as Avery had said, they had the advantage in numbers, but were still easily defeated by the other side. In the end, only the four of them managed to escape by escaping the forbidden area of Apparition.

"There are always people who think they can deceive me?"

After listening to the three people's stories, Voldemort suddenly showed a cruel smile on his face.

Snape's heart skipped a beat and he suddenly had a bad feeling. He knew that Albert's lame lie was particularly unreliable.

However, when he thought the whole thing had been seen through by the Dark Lord, he heard a cold voice in his ears.

"Avery, what gave you the guts to betray me?"

Snape opened his mouth slightly, and for a moment he couldn't figure out what was going on.

"Master, how dare I betray you!" Avery crawled to Voldemort's feet and tried to kiss his robes. "I have always been loyal to you."

“Do you really think you can hide this from me?” Voldemort raised his wand and pointed it at the trembling man lying on the ground. “Now, let me see what that mudblood used to make you betray me willingly. Legilimency!”

Voldemort showed no mercy to traitors and directly interrogated Avery through forced Legilimency.

This scene made the Death Eaters around him breathe a sigh of relief. With Avery as the unlucky guy, at least others wouldn't suffer from this anymore.

"I see. The Imperius Curse?"

Voldemort quickly figured out what was going on. Although he did not see who used the Imperius Curse on Avery, there were only a few people who could do that.

Dumbledore, or Albert Anderson.

Based on Voldemort's understanding of Dumbledore, that hypocritical guy probably wouldn't bother using this method.

That leaves Albert Anderson.

No wonder that guy knew their plan, what a bullshit prophecy. It turns out there was a traitor among them from the beginning.

"What a waste! What's the point of keeping you here!"

Voldemort looked at Avery with disgust, raised his wand and cast the Killing Curse at Avery.

"That damned mudblood, he's going to pay for this."

Snape's eyes twitched slightly when he saw this scene, and he suddenly understood what the whole thing was going on.

Perhaps Albert had anticipated this from the beginning, so his old friend Avery was ruthlessly sacrificed in exchange for the Dark Lord's trust in him and Alecto and to expose the matter.

Even the Dark Lord would never have thought that even Alecto was also controlled by Albert using the Imperius Curse.

The Death Eaters also figured out the details of the situation. No one sympathized with Avery who had fallen under the Avada Kedavra curse, and some even wanted to spit on his corpse.

If they weren't trash, maybe they wouldn't have so many failures.

Bullshit divination.

That hypocritical Mudblood must die.

"Yaxley."

"I am here, Master," Yaxley said immediately. "What do you want me to do?"

"I need you to inquire about the circumstances of the capture, and find out the time of Dumbledore's funeral as soon as possible. I want to release all the prisoners in Azkaban on that day," Voldemort said, sweeping his eyes across the people present and looking at his own right-hand left hand.

“We must get rid of Scrimgeour as soon as possible and take control of the British Ministry of Magic.” Voldemort’s scarlet eyes flashed dangerously. “As for that Mudblood, I don’t believe he can hide in his rat hole forever.”
