Chapter 1270: The old trick repeats itself

Views:

In the dark night, several strange black shadows passed through the sky and suddenly landed in a remote wizard town. Before the black smoke around them had dispersed, they raised their wands without hesitation, blasted open the wooden door of the target house, and rushed in violently. The huge explosion instantly awakened the dead silent town.

"What are you going to do?"

A man's roar was heard in the middle of the night.

A green light symbolizing death lit up from the window of the room, followed by a shrill scream.

“Determine the target.”

The leading Death Eater knocked down the screaming woman and looked at a person beside him.

"Yes, it's him." The man nodded, "This guy showed off to others in the bar."

"Very good, take the person away."

Two Death Eaters nearby immediately stepped forward, grabbed the woman's arms, pulled her up from the ground, and walked straight out so that they could leave here before other wizards could react.

The last Death Eater who was about to Apparate raised his wand and shot the Dark Mark towards the sky above the house. He glanced at the wizards who had hurriedly gathered and raised his mouth with a hint of disdain, and then Apparated and disappeared.

Everyone was stunned when they saw the skull image floating above the house.

On that day, the news that the Dark Mark appeared in France quickly spread through newspapers in the French wizarding world. The next day at noon, Scrimgeour, who had just received the intelligence, looked at the photo of the Dark Mark on the headline of the Sun King Daily and fell into a brief silence.

Of course he guessed what was going on.

But, that guy is hiding in France

"Minister, they're here," Percy reminded softly.

"Send them over."

Scrimgeour looked up at Percy and said, "If you want to take a day off to attend the wedding, I can understand."

"Forget it." Percy shook his head and walked outside. After a while, he came back with two people.

Scrimgeour handed the newspaper to his Auror Office Chief. "Take a look at this newspaper. Those guys have caused trouble again recently. Unfortunately, they chose the wrong target."

"With such a big commotion, will France... "

Robards looked at the minister expectantly. If the French Ministry of Magic could also join in the fight against the mysterious man, their pressure would be greatly reduced.

"You'd better not count on those cowards. They won't get involved. Unless the You-Know-Who tries to invade and control the French Ministry of Magic and mess up the French wizarding world, no one will be willing to get involved in this war."

Scrimgeour knew those people too well, because he would have done the same thing. It would only kill a few people, but if the French Ministry of Magic was really involved in this wizarding war, more people would die.

As for the reaction of the masses, it was the least important from the beginning.

Unless the French Minister of Magic becomes as hated as Fudge, there will be no embarrassing situation of the Minister being ousted.

Kings, who had been silent all along, took the newspaper and turned over another page that showed a burned-down house. He suddenly asked, "Are those Death Eaters looking for Anderson?"

"Obviously. But the guy was prepared." Scrimgeour never thought that the Death Eaters could find Albert.

"So what are we going to do next?" Robards asked with a frown. He actually didn't care about these trivial matters, but only about the current situation of the Ministry of Magic. His old friend Scrimgeour only told him that there would be a big operation next, requiring the Aurors to be ready for battle at any time.

"Carry out the operation as planned. This operation should take place in the next few days. Go and make preparations." Scrimgeour called out to his Auror Office Director before he was about to leave: "You can spread rumors first, saying that the French Ministry of Magic has been angered by the You-Know-Who and is discussing with us to send Aurors to deal with the You-Know-Who."

Scrimgeour pointed to the newspaper on the table and indicated to his Head of Auror Office that he could take it away.

"We must first reassure people and send false information to those Death Eaters' spies."

"No problem, leave it to me!" Robards picked up the newspaper and glanced at Kings before leaving.

After Gadwin left, Scrimgeour said to Kings, "I accepted your previous proposal. When will Bill Weiss come to the wedding?"

"Two days later."

Kings was very surprised. He never expected Scrimgeour to agree so readily.

"Will Anderson go to the wedding?"

"It should be." Kings said.

"Remember to ask Arthur to send me some invitations. You know, the Ministry of Magic can't blatantly mobilize Aurors to protect a wedding, but I never mind finding some benefits for the Aurors. They have had a lot of work in the past year."

"Are you going to do it again?"

Kings opened his eyes wide and immediately guessed Scrimgeour's intention. Just like when they used Albert's wedding to set a trap and directly killed a large number of Death Eaters, the Ministry of Magic now planned to use Bill and Fleur's wedding as a bait to lure the Death Eaters into the trap.

Whether the Death Eaters were fooled or not, the Ministry of Magic would not lose out.

No, Kingsley believed that the Death Eaters would never miss this good opportunity.

After all, Harry was likely to attend the wedding, as were the Weisley brothers and even Albert, and there was no reason for the Death Eaters to miss this opportunity to catch them.

But if this really happens!

Kingslai couldn't imagine that Bill's festive wedding would turn into a battlefield.

“Things always happen, don’t they?”

Scrimgeour looked Kings up and down, shook his head in disappointment and said, "Anderson said that after the You-Know-Who is completely finished, you have a high chance of becoming the next Minister of Magic, but in my opinion, you are still a long way from taking this position."

Kings opened his mouth. He never thought Scrimgeour would say it directly.

"I don't deny that you are excellent, but you still lack something if you want to be the Minister of Magic." Scrimgeour only realized this after becoming the Minister for nearly a year.

"If I die, remember to stay close to Anderson. The Order of the Phoenix is completely unreliable after losing Dumbledore. When facing a dangerous guy like the You-Know-Who, without the help of an extraordinary wizard, I would end up like this."

"When the Ministry of Magic collapses, you will be the one to take over the remaining power. I don't think I can count on Anderson. And remember to kill more Death Eaters to avenge me. You let them go easily last time, which laid the seeds for this disaster. Especially without Dumbledore's help, those guys will not be content." Scrimgeour looked at Kings's stunned expression and suddenly smiled strangely.

"Are you surprised?"

“Somewhat.”

Kingslai was more than just surprised, his heart was not at peace at all.

"Anderson's predictions are always accurate. It's a pity that he hasn't grown up yet to replace Dumbledore, otherwise I would definitely be able to... Never mind." Scrimgeour said self-deprecatingly, "The Ministry of Magic probably has a lot of Death Eaters' spies right now. Even Gadwin may not be reliable, and you are now my last choice."

"Why?" Kingsley asked doubtfully.

"Because I believe that as a member of the Order of the Phoenix, you won't betray so easily. Also, I trust that guy's vision."

Scrimgeour's words were not actually a lie, but they were more to paint a rosy picture for Kings and win him over completely.

The Ministry of Magic was being gradually infiltrated, and there were not many people Scrimgeour could really rely on. Therefore, he planned to win over the Order of the Phoenix through Kings, to see if he could take this opportunity to completely inflict heavy damage on the Death Eaters and buy himself enough time.

If Scrimgeour ultimately fails and dies at the hands of a mysterious person, I believe that Kingsley, who has integrated the remaining resistance forces in the Ministry of Magic, will definitely continue to cause trouble for the Death Eaters.

Even if he died, they would not have an easy life.

What's more, Scrimgeour believed that Albert had a way to help him get revenge.
