Chapter 1334: Where is the death stick?

Views:

"What is it, Yaxley? I told you not to come to me unless it's urgent."

The rising green devil flames had just dissipated, and Snape, who was standing by the fireplace, looked at his colleagues with a gloomy face, expressing his dissatisfaction with Yaxley for notifying him to come over again.

"I never meant to order you around, Severus."

Yaxley gestured to Snape to sit down, indicating that his gloomy and emotionless colleague should sit down. "I just want to convey the Dark Lord's words to you."

"What does the Dark Lord need from me?"

Snape looked at his colleague who was sitting in the armchair with high spirits, frowned slightly and asked.

He knew that the Dark Lord had been abroad recently searching for someone, and it didn't seem to be going well.

"The Dark Lord needs you to find Dumbledore's wand." Yaxley told Snape what Voldemort asked him to tell Snape.

"Dumbledore's wand?"

Snape was very confused by Voldemort's orders.

What did Voldemort want with Dumbledore's wand

"Yes, the Dark Lord seems to be dissatisfied with his wand. Perhaps he wants to get a more powerful wand." Yaxley said in a low voice, "In order to deal with that damned mudblood."

"I don't deny that Albert Anderson is indeed worthy of vigilance, but it shouldn't be enough for the Dark Lord to take it so seriously, right?" Snape was very confused.

He knew that the Dark Lord was very afraid of Anderson. That guy's strength was far beyond that of normal wizards and was infinitely close to that of the former Dumbledore.

The Dark Lord certainly didn't want another wizard as powerful as Dumbledore to appear, but it was very strange to pin his hopes of getting rid of Anderson on a powerful wand, because there must be other better ways.

"I heard the Dark Lord was looking for the Deathstick."

Yaxley deliberately revealed some of the information to Snape.

"What is that?" Snape looked stunned.

Yaxley spread his hands towards Snape and said, "I am only following the Dark Lord's orders."

"So, the Dark Lord thought that the wand used by Dumbledore was most likely the so-called Death Stick?" Snape felt that the whole thing was becoming quite funny.

"This possibility is not impossible. Don't forget Severus. The elderly Dumbledore still has great power."

Even Yaxley had to admit that compared to other elderly wizards, Dumbledore was incredibly powerful.

Normally, a wizard's magical power would decline significantly after he reached a certain age, but that old guy who lived for a century was still very powerful before he died.

"I will find the wand, but you should know that I did not stay in Hogwarts after Dumbledore's death. It will take time to figure out where the wand is." Snape planned to discuss this matter with Dumbledore's portrait after returning.

"You just need to find where the wand is, and the Dark Lord will go and get it himself." Yaxley raised his glass towards Snape and reminded him with a smile, "Remember, this is very important."

"You seem to know some secrets?"

Snape, who was about to turn and walk towards the fireplace, suddenly stopped and sat back in the armchair, staring at Yaxley's disgusting face.

"I can tell you, but everything has a price."

Yaxley narrowed his eyes at Snape, waiting for his response.

"what do you want from me?"

Snape naturally heard the hidden meaning of the cunning man in front of him, and guessed why the other party had specially asked him to come here to discuss it in detail in person.

"Hogsmeade has not been peaceful lately. I hope it will become the largest black market exchange in Europe."

A pleased smile appeared on Yaxley's lips, and he knew that it had worked.

Although Snape's power was far less than his, Yaxley knew that only if the two of them joined forces could they suppress the Death Eaters' other little tricks and turn Hogsmeade village into what he wanted.

"Yes, but the Dark Lord..."

"The Dark Lord has no time for that little thing, and I'm sure he'll be pleased with it." Yaxley took a sip of his wine confidently.

Snape hesitated for a moment, then nodded in agreement.

He didn't care what Yaxley wanted to do in Hogsmeade, he was more curious about what Voldemort wanted to do.

"Can you tell me now?" asked Snape.

"I asked Ollivander, and he told me that there have been legends of various powerful wands in history, such as the Elder Wand, the Death Wand, the Wand of Destiny..." Yaxley poured Snape a glass of red wine. "If the Dark Lord could possess the legendary Death Wand, he would become invincible. I must admit... this is enough to awe everyone."

"That's just a legend, or maybe a few powerful dark wizards in history have used their power and lives to prove the wand's reputation." Snape was unwilling to believe that there would be such a powerful wand. The reason was very simple. Albert Anderson was the best example. His power did not come from his wand, but he himself possessed extraordinary power. He believed that the Dark Lord had figured this out after he captured Ollivander.

"Ollivander knows who has the Elder Wand," said Yaxley suddenly.

"What?" Snape was stunned.

"Olivander said that the Elder Wand is with Gregorovitch." Yaxley put down his glass and said, "So the Dark Lord has been looking for Gregorovitch recently, but the old guy seems to have heard the news in advance and hid himself."

"So you want to tell me that that ridiculous rumor is true?"

Snape's expression became extremely strange. "If that wand is really that powerful, why did Gregorovitch hide? And if you heard that there is such a wand, wouldn't you be tempted to grab the wand?"

"I don't know." Yaxley shook his head. "Even Ollivander couldn't tell if he was real. Many people just took them as stories, but they couldn't be sure that those powerful wands never existed. At least Dumbledore's wand was quite suspicious. Don't forget that he has lived for a century. It is definitely not normal for him to still have such powerful magical powers."

"I will try my best to find Dumbledore's wand before the Dark Lord returns to England." Snape stood up and walked towards the fireplace, ready to use the Floo network to return directly to the headmaster's office at Hogwarts.

"As reliable as ever!" Yaxley raised the glass bottle, looked at Snape who disappeared by the fireplace through the red wine, and murmured, "Good luck, old friend. You'd better hope that Dumbledore's wand is not a death stick."

If Dumbledore really used the legendary Death Stick, then Snape, who killed him, would be in big trouble.

Rumor has it that only by seizing the wand from its previous owner can one become its true master, and Snape killed Dumbledore, which means that if the Dark Lord wants the wand, it will also require bloody killing.

Based on Yaxley's understanding of the Dark Lord, even if Snape was his most capable assistant, he would be ruthlessly sacrificed.

This means that he will be the Dark Lord's only right-hand man, and he may become very busy because of this, but that is undoubtedly a very wonderful thing.

"Oh, you mean Voldemort is looking for a powerful wand?"

Snape, who had just returned to the headmaster's office, immediately told Dumbledore's portrait what he had heard from Yaxley.

However, the long-dead old man didn't seem to care.

"You don't seem surprised." Snape was a little surprised by the old man's reaction.

"Perhaps Mr. Anderson has put too much pressure on Voldemort." Dumbledore chuckled.

"You can actually laugh." Snape felt unwell.

"Don't worry Severus, this shows that Mr. Anderson is indeed terrible in some way."

Dumbledore witnessed Albert's growth with his own eyes, and he knew the horror of the young wizard better than Voldemort. The only consolation was that Albert was a person of good character, and there was no need to worry that he would become a terrible person like Voldemort.

As for Albert's methods of dealing with the mysterious man and the Death Eaters, Dumbledore didn't think there was anything wrong with it.

This is a wizarding war, and in war people die.

Dumbledore also did not think that Scrimgeour's decisions would be seriously influenced by Albert.

After all, Scrimgeour was an adult, the British Minister of Magic, and an Auror himself. In such a dangerous situation, it was normal for him to make the decision to directly reduce the number of Death Eaters to weaken Voldemort's power, because that did allow them to quickly reverse the disadvantage.

"The Dark Lord sent me to find your wand."

Snape looked up at Dumbledore's portrait and asked his doubts, "He seems to think that your wand is very likely the legendary Deathstick."

"My wand is indeed more powerful than ordinary wands. At least it works better in my hand, but it may not be the case for others." Dumbledore did not deny it. He frowned and recalled, "As for where the wand is? Maybe Minerva will put my wand into the coffin. You can open my coffin and look for it."

"You know what I'm going to say!"

Snape ignored Dumbledore's suggestion that he open his coffin to look for his wand. Instead, he said angrily, "Is your wand the Death Stick? If it is really the legendary wand, it must not fall into the hands of the Dark Lord. If the Dark Lord has the Death Stick, he will become invulnerable. Even Anderson will not be his opponent."

"Voldemort is actually testing you," Dumbledore said suddenly, "otherwise he would never let you get such important information."

Snape looked at the portrait of the old man behind the desk, and after a slight twitch on his face, he asked, "Do you think I should hand over your wand to the Dark Lord?"

"Should say tell Voldemort that my wand was placed in my coffin," Dumbledore corrected.

"Aren't you afraid..."

"I'm already dead," Dumbledore kindly reminded, "and I don't see the point in Voldemort having my wand."

"So, that wand is not the so-called death stick?" After confirming it again and again, Snape couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"At least the wand in my coffin is definitely not the wand Voldemort is looking for." Dumbledore played a language trap, tapped his head with his index finger and said: "A powerful wizard never relies on a powerful wand, but on his own brain. Isn't Mr. Anderson the best case?"

"Olivander said that Gregorovitch once obtained a powerful wand. Now the Dark Lord is looking for Gregorovitch all over Europe, but he just can't find Gregorovitch no matter what." Snape said this, as if he thought of something. He suddenly raised his head and looked at the portrait in front of him, looking at Dumbledore with an incredulous look: "Could it be that you hid him?"

This is really possible, after all, someone predicted what would happen today a long time ago.

"It wasn't me. It was Mr. Anderson." Dumbledore admitted it directly. "He hid Gregorovitch. After all, whoever heard that Voldemort might go looking for him would carefully consider his own safety."

"So, the Death Stick is actually with Anderson?" Snape looked at Dumbledore in shock.

Dumbledore smiled but said nothing.

No wonder Albert was Dumbledore's ultimate trump card.

Snape simply couldn't imagine how terrifying Albert Anderson would be with a death stick.

There was no way the Dark Lord could be his match.

What's even more terrifying is that Mr. Anderson has been hiding his true strength, quietly waiting for the Dark Lord to take the bait, without revealing the fact that he owns the Death Stick.

When the Dark Lord faced Albert holding the Death Stick, Snape could not help but observe three seconds of silence for the Dark Lord in his heart.

What's even more tragic is that the Dark Lord had been in a trap designed by Dumbledore from beginning to end.

But no one could have imagined it.

When Snape thought about it, it didn't seem strange.

After all, Dumbledore was willing to sacrifice his own life to plot against the Dark Lord. Moreover, there was also Albert Anderson who could accurately predict the future, if the two of them worked together to plot against the Dark Lord.

That's really scary.

"What should I do next?"

After Snape discovered that his worries were completely unnecessary, he was too lazy to think about too many issues.

"Complete Voldemort's mission and protect the students of Hogwarts. I don't think they will cause you any trouble in the short term." Dumbledore said calmly.

"I'll go and confirm whether the wand is in your coffin." Snape decided to complete the task first. Voldemort's suspicion and temptation made him a little uneasy.

Looking at Snape's departing back, Dumbledore sighed softly and disappeared from the portrait frame.

He planned to meet with Albert and talk to him about this matter.

Although Dumbledore did have great confidence in the young wizard, there were still some things he needed to let him know, because the current progress seemed a bit too fast to Dumbledore.
