Chapter 1372: What he wants to do

"What on earth does Anderson want to do?"

If there were students here, they would definitely be surprised that the new headmaster of Hogwarts, the notorious old bat Severus Snape, was actually... actually listening to the daily broadcast of the Wizarding Watchtower, and discussing the content of the broadcast with the portrait of Dumbledore on the wall of the office. This was completely inconsistent with the image of the old bat in their minds.

The portrait of Dumbledore kept its eyes closed and did not answer the new headmaster's questions, as if it were really just a painting.

"The current situation is very bad. The Death Eaters suffered heavy losses in Hogsmeade, and on the same day, Harry Potter and his men kidnapped all the prisoners in Azkaban. This series of events completely angered the Dark Lord. You know that whenever something happens, they will think of Albert Anderson first."

Snape turned off the radio and chattered to the portrait on the wall. He had his own opinions on the situation, but the development of things made him increasingly confused, forcing Snape to take the time to consult Dumbledore and figure out what that guy was trying to do, so as to avoid falling into the same trap himself.

"Anderson is in hiding. The Death Eaters can't find him and can't do anything to him."

Seeing that Dumbledore's portrait did not answer, Snape could only speak to himself, "The Death Eaters are almost going crazy now, and they are frantically looking for Anderson, dreaming of killing him. For this reason, many Death Eaters have begun to capture anyone related to him in the British wizarding world, trying to force him out by despicable means."

"Have their brains been collectively caught in the door?"

The red-nosed old wizard in the portrait next to him muttered.

"How can someone be so stupid? Don't they know the consequences of doing so? Or are the wizards in the British wizarding world now a bunch of cowards who don't even dare to resist?"

Snape also did not agree with the Death Eaters' actions, nor did he think that similar methods could effectively dismantle the Defense Association, but he could not find any excuse to oppose it. Kidnapping children and threatening relatives has always been effective, and now it is just the opposite.

The Dark Lord even gave him the task of killing Albert. If he did not actively complete it, he would become suspicious among the Death Eaters.

Snape's instincts told him that if he showed too much enthusiasm in this matter, he would probably die.

He didn't believe that there were no spies of that guy among the Death Eaters.

Anyone who tried to harm Anderson died a miserable death.

Both Bella and Malfoy paid a heavy price for this.

Without waiting for Dumbledore to speak, Snape continued to talk about the despicable means that the Death Eaters were going to use next, such as arresting the family members of suspected members of the Defense Association to threaten them, or arresting members of Dumbledore's Army hiding in the Room of Requirement in Hogwarts and using Veritaserum to torture them.

In fact, the Death Eaters have done similar things before, but this time it was even more tragic because Yaxley even offered a reward in Galleons. It wouldn't be long before the entire British wizarding world would be in chaos.

All the headmasters of all generations listened to Snape's words and felt extremely angry about Voldemort's chaos.

"I think Anderson wants to take this opportunity to completely eliminate most of the Death Eaters!" Dumbledore, who had been pretending to be asleep, finally opened his eyes.

Get rid of most of the Death Eaters

Snape carefully recalled the recent casualties of the Death Eaters and suddenly fell silent.

If Anderson really wanted to get rid of the Death Eaters, he could do it alone. No one could match him except the mysterious man. Once he started killing people wantonly, all the Death Eaters would probably have to huddle in their holes and tremble like rats.

"Albert actually hates killing people."

Dumbledore did not answer Snape's question, but spoke to himself.

Yes, Anderson hated killing, but that didn't stop him from killing.

In the past year, the number of Death Eaters killed was far greater than in the previous decades, and the second-generation Death Eaters of Snape's class were basically wiped out by him.

"Just like he believes that peace in the British wizarding world should be fought for by British wizards themselves, rather than pinning hopes on children who have just reached adulthood." Dumbledore's words plunged the headmaster's office into silence.

"So, he intends to drag all the wizards in Britain into this."

As soon as he said this, Snape realized something.

If the Death Eaters continue to act recklessly, perhaps that kind of thing will really happen. After all, British wizards are not cowards. When they can no longer tolerate it, they will pick up their wands.

"Yes, he had a similar idea before. If I hadn't died, Scrimgeour would have mobilized the wizards in the British wizarding world to hang all the Death Eaters on the gallows."

"He has done that, and hundreds of Dark wizards have died because of it."

"That's just an appetizer. All wizards in Britain will be dragged into this war, and they will use their wands to defend the peace they desire." Dumbledore looked a little uneasy and murmured, "But I rejected his proposal because doing so would kill many people, a lot of people."

"But war is never a joke, and people will die," Snape said suddenly.

"Yes, so he scoffs at people placing their hopes on a savior, and he hates it instinctively." Dumbledore looked at Snape and said, "You're curious about what Anderson wants to do? He just wants to end the war, in his own way."

"How arrogant," Snape muttered.

"No, it is actually us who are arrogant." Dumbledore murmured, "If I had not backed down, perhaps the situation would be much better than it is now. Those evil wizards would not be able to escape death, the werewolves who were recruited would be hunted down thoroughly, and the giants who came to Britain would be completely wiped out..."

Dumbledore's whispers made Snape's hair stand on end.

How many people will die then

"Is that really possible?" Snape asked in a low voice.

"I don't know, but I backed off." Dumbledore shook his head. "I don't want our decision to lead to that... I know I can't bear the weight of such a life, and I don't want to..."

"You are afraid that he will become a terrifying existence like the Dark Lord." Snape seemed to see through Dumbledore's thoughts and said self-deprecatingly, "In fact, he has become one now. Anderson has basically controlled all the forces that resist the Dark Lord and easily treats us all as fools."

“I think unity is more appropriate.”

"He did a better job than the Dark Lord. I wouldn't be surprised if people called him the White Lord one day," Snape said sarcastically.

"Are you blaming me for retreating? That kind of accusation is too heavy for an old man." Dumbledore sighed, "Not everyone deserves to die. That's terrible."

"What does he want to do now?"

Snape suspected that the guy was plotting some big conspiracy again.

"He just wants the adults to take responsibility for their own actions instead of letting the children who are supposed to be protected take over this war."

"Adults taking responsibility for their own actions?" Snape repeated.

"It's probably what you think it is," said Dumbledore. "It's actually related to a prophecy."

"What prophecy?" Snape asked cautiously. He was very cautious about this because he had been fooled by so-called prophecies before.

"The final battle will break out in Hogwarts, and a large number of students will die in this war. In order to prevent those children from dying, the best way is to get more helpers."

"Really?"

Snape felt that Dumbledore was not telling the truth, or only told a little.

"Isn't it?" Dumbledore asked, "He asked those foreign dark wizards to make knives so that British wizards could see the weak nature of the Death Eaters.

"The 28 wizards killed by the Death Eaters should also make everyone see the consequences of not resisting."

"I thought you would be disgusted that he sacrificed those people directly." Snape was a little surprised by Dumbledore's attitude towards this matter.

"He just respects the fate of others."

"Respect the fate of others?" Snape thought this was really ridiculous.

"Given Anderson's style of doing things, he would probably remind them of the risks they might encounter after leaving the asylum, but how could they allow themselves to be transferred from one cage to another while being imprisoned? So they ignored the advice and left on their own initiative." Dumbledore recalled, "Albert once said that he would never save those who voluntarily sought death."

"He really respects the fate of others." Snape twitched his mouth slightly and said sarcastically, "I think other wizards will listen to his arrangements after experiencing this incident. A large number of them will probably join the team to resist the Dark Lord."

Dumbledore did not answer, but after looking at each other, the other portraits suddenly felt that the title of White Lord might be correct.

“When will this war end?”

Snape asked the question he wanted to know most. This was very important and related to many of his future arrangements.

"I don't know. Severus is already dead. Anderson made all the subsequent plans. Only he knows the details."

"The Death Eaters will move into Hogwarts in two days. They plan to attack Dumbledore's Army." Snape said suddenly.

"Protect the children in the school, Severus, you promised me." The expression on Dumbledore's face became extremely serious.

"I will try my best to convince Yaxley to send the Aurors over, but you should talk to Anderson. I think if he is willing to cooperate, the situation may be much better." Snape didn't believe that Dumbledore didn't know that this was a ruthless man who would plot against the Dark Lord even in his death. He just didn't want to tell himself, which made Snape feel inexplicably irritated.

Ever since the Dark Lord gave him the task of killing Albert Anderson, Snape had a bad feeling that he might not live long.
