Chapter 1407: Percy's choice of congee

"So, Percy is really a spy you secretly planted in the Ministry of Magic?"

Ever since they began to suspect Percy's affairs, the Weiss twins took the time to ask Albert about it.

"I guess so. It's mutually beneficial for everyone!"

Albert glanced at Fred and George and could roughly guess why they came to see him.

"Percy is a very ambitious man. He is eager to succeed, as you all know. He wants to climb up and change his destiny. This is a very realistic problem."

"When he was still in college, he came to see me. I gave him some career advice and provided him with help. In turn, he helped me find out some news about the Ministry of Magic. It was a mutually beneficial relationship."

Albert made a hushing gesture to the Weisley brothers, who looked very complicated. "Of course, this kind of thing cannot be disclosed to the outside world. After all, it concerns the safety of Percy's life."

"No wonder that guy didn't join the Death Eaters." Fred couldn't help but complain, "Then again, he had a falling out with his family, maybe that was also..."

"It's half true and half false!" Albert shook his head. "I'm not sure about the details."

"That's exactly what he would do, taking all the benefits!" George said self-deprecatingly, "No matter who wins in the end, he can handle it calmly."

"No, he should still prefer that we finally defeat the mysterious man. No one wants to live in such a bad environment." Albert paused and looked up at the door. Penelope was standing there with her arms folded, as if she had something to say to Albert.

"Were you able to contact him?"

After Fred and George left the office one after another, Penelope suddenly asked.

"It seems you can't let him go yet!" Albert said softly.

"I'm not as ruthless as that guy who dismissed me with just a letter!" Penelope said self-deprecatingly, "I just want a result. No matter what the result is, I can accept it calmly."

"I don't know what's going on with Percy, but... I can help you with divination!"

Albert waved his magic wand and summoned a crystal ball out of thin air, and began to tell fortunes for Penelope. He got the answer they wanted with almost no effort.

In the divination crystal ball, Percy was having dinner with a beautiful girl.

"Oh, it's Audrey!"

Penelope stared at the image in the crystal ball and murmured, "They are quite a good match. They are both pure blood and work in the Ministry of Magic... How enviable."

After getting the answer, Penelope turned and left.

Looking at Penelope's lonely figure, Albert couldn't help but shake his head. Even though he had changed the fate of many people, some things remained unchanged.

Not long after Penelope left, Sana came in to report to Albert the news that had just been delivered from the Order of the Phoenix.

"They found Mundungus Fletch, and he's still alive."

"Well, how's that guy?" Albert asked.

"It's not good. He is in a daze. The mysterious man forced his memory to look through it, which messed up Mundungus's mind." Sana still remembered why Albert reminded her to pay special attention to Mundungus.

"That guy really would..."

"Don't contact Mundungus yet." Albert interrupted, "Have you used the Marauder's Map to confirm the identity of that guy?"

"You mean someone might use a compound potion to disguise themselves as him." Sana was a little confused. She knew what Albert had predicted recently, that a mysterious person would attack the headquarters of the Defense Association. The question was how did the mysterious person find this place

Albert apparently thought that Mundungus's deal with Fred and George was a breakthrough.

Anyway, it's always a good idea to keep an eye on that guy for now.

Compared with Mundungus's news, the news that "Percy Weiss's coming is actually one of ours" somehow leaked out and quickly reached the Order of the Phoenix.

"So, Percy is actually a spy planted by Albert in the Ministry of Magic?"

Harry, Hermione and Ron, who were the first to learn the news, had expressions of shock on their faces. The news really scared them, but Hermione, who was the first to realize that something was wrong, quickly reminded them that something had happened.

Once the secret news that Percy was a spy spread, Percy, who was still working as the Minister's Assistant in the Ministry of Magic, would definitely be finished. And how such a thing, which should have been kept strictly confidential, spread was really confusing.

The most distressed person was Mrs. Wesley. She was extremely happy when she heard the news, but she soon became unhappy because if a lot of people knew the secret, it would no longer be a secret.

For this reason, the Order of the Phoenix held an emergency meeting, and they all agreed that Percy should temporarily give up his job as Assistant to the Minister of Magic and immediately find a place to hide to avoid the disaster that might be caused by the leakage of the news.

When Percy first received the news from his father's patronus, he was stunned. He really couldn't understand how this matter spread.

If word of this really reached the Ministry, he would be doomed.

After confirming this with Albert, Percy immediately chose to run away to ensure his own safety.

So when Walton MacNeill and the Aurors went to catch him, Percy had already run away.

This incident really made the new Minister of Magic, Pius Thicknesse, furious. No one would be in a good mood if they found out that their assistant was actually a spy.

After leaving the Ministry, Percy quickly reintegrated into the Order of the Phoenix and was welcomed by the Weisleys, because he was indeed Albert's spy in the Ministry and brought back a lot of useful intelligence to the Order of the Phoenix.

As for the reason for not joining the Defense Society, Albert once said that Kingsley would most likely become the next Minister of Magic, which led Percy to believe that it would be important for him to get a good education with Kingsley first so that he could return to the Ministry of Magic in the future, or even take up an important position.

After meeting Albert again, Percy's first words were: "Did Penelope leak the news?"

"Who told you to dump her!" Albert reminded, "Besides, you only sent her a letter."

Percy suddenly fell silent.

"So, you should give me an explanation."

Penelope appeared out of nowhere, staring at Percy.

"I'm sorry Penelope, but love is not everything in life, especially after work. I really need a wife who can help me in my career. I need the support of other pure-blood families to help me make further progress in my career."

Percy's words were cruel, but they were indeed his truest thoughts, and for this he was slapped by Penelope.

"I can understand your choice Audrey, but you shouldn't have perfunctorily dealt with me with a letter." Penelope turned and bowed to Albert: "I'm sorry for causing you trouble."

Having said that, she left with a blank expression.

"Oh! I know this is not good, but I don't regret it." Percy touched his cheek and said, "If I hadn't joined the Ministry of Magic, I would probably choose to marry Penelope, but... I won't stop."

"What are your plans next?" Albert asked.

"Let's build a good relationship with Kings first. Do you think he will let me continue to serve as assistant minister after he becomes the new minister?" Percy hoped to get the answer he wanted from Albert.

"Maybe... maybe. After all, you are his best choice."
