Daily Life at Hogwarts

Chapter 167: What he wants to do

Views:

In recent days, Hertok felt that his luck was particularly bad. He lost his gold membership card inexplicably while watching an opera in France. His potion research, which had been going smoothly, suddenly encountered a lot of problems and was stuck at a bottleneck.

Even taking the elixir he had stored before did not make his luck better.

Hetok had not yet reported the loss of the gold membership card to the Extraordinary Pharmacist Association, and he did not dare to tell anyone else about it.

Sometimes, if too many people know something, it will bring you into a lot of trouble.

Hetok never expected that placing a lost and found ad in the Daily Prophet would help him get his gold membership card back.

Through his connections, Hertok found someone to help him predict that the gold membership card would be brought to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

At present, he should go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, consult with Dumbledore, and identify the students one by one until he finds the boy who picked up the gold membership card.

However, this is undoubtedly not a good idea.

While Hertok was still struggling with this matter, someone sent him a letter via owl, which read: You seem to be in some minor trouble, and I can help you.

PS: At 8pm, I like to have evening tea on the terrace.

The sender's name is: Bad Brod.

Hetok knew Badblood, and both were members of the Wizengamot, but they didn't really talk that often.

After all, the two people are good at completely different fields and their communication scope is also different.

There is a reason why different trades are like different mountains.

However, Hertok still planned to visit Badbrod. Since the other party wrote to him, it must be for a purpose.

A quarter to seven.

Hetok arrived at the lake early. The wind blowing in his face was very cool, temporarily dispelling the summer heat.

"He's really a guy who enjoys himself." Hetok raised his head and looked into the distance, squinting his eyes slightly, and muttered: "Is Apparition prohibited here?"

Hetok lit the tip of his wand, walked along the shore of the lake, and finally stopped at a dilapidated pier. He looked at the only small broken boat on the pier and fell into a brief silence.

Hetok walked up, and the boat sailed towards the island in the lake against the night wind under the cover of darkness.

The boat sailed for a while and arrived at the dock of a small island in the lake before sinking. There was a house-elf on the dock, welcoming Hetok's arrival.

"The master asked me to wait for you here, Mr. Hertok Dagworth. Please follow me." The house-elf bowed to Hertok, then led the way with an oil lamp in hand.

They walked on the gravel path and passed through several defensive magics before entering the manor.

"Good evening, Hertok, you're here earlier than I expected." Brod greeted the guests while sitting at the round table on the terrace.

"I'm here. Tell me if you have any good news." Hetok suppressed his inner anxiety and asked.

"Oh, it seems the rumors are true. You lost something valuable." Brod smiled and gestured to Hetok to sit down.

Hetok sat down and continued to listen patiently to the other party's nonsense. As long as Brod could provide him with some useful information, he didn't mind waiting a little longer.

"I have a little friend who wrote to me a while ago and told me that he encountered some strange things." Brod poured some red wine into the glass in front of Hertog and continued, "He said that he had just returned from a vacation in France, but inexplicably received a letter from the Ministry of Magic because he used the Sling Charm in France. However, in fact, he had just finished the first year and had not yet mastered how to use the Sling Charm."

Hetok opened his mouth, but in the end he said nothing.

"This is a gift he brought back for me from his vacation in France. It's Muggle red wine, and it tastes very good." After Broad said this, he looked at Hertok with a smile.

No matter how stupid you are, you can understand what Broad means. The kid he is talking about is most likely the boy who picked up your gold membership card.

"What's his name?" Hetok took a deep breath and asked in a low voice.

Brod did not answer immediately, but looked at Hetok calmly and asked, "How are you going to deal with this? Go directly to him to ask for the things, or?"

"It doesn't seem to have anything to do with you?" Hetok couldn't help but blurt out, but regretted it the next moment.

"Of course it does." Brod looked Hertok up and down and shook his head. "It seems that you need a glass of red wine on ice to calm down."

Hetok was silent for a long time before he said, "I'm sorry, I was rude. I've been having a lot of bad luck lately and I'm quite mad."

"I understand." Brod did not blame the other party for his rudeness and gave Hertok the letter Albert wrote to him.

After reading the letter, Hetok looked up and asked, "What do you want me to do?"

"I don't expect that," Brod corrected. "You seem to be causing trouble for my little friend."

"I'll make it up to him," Hetok said quickly.

"Oh, you don't seem to understand what I said." Brod intertwined his hands, looked at Hetok, and kindly reminded him: "He doesn't need any compensation from you, you just need to clean up the mess you made."

"Mess?" Hetok repeated softly.

"Isn't it?" Brod asked back.

"It's a mess, to some extent," Hetok said, without denying it. "But it's not a big deal."

"That could be a big deal for him," Brode said.

Hetok was silent, then nodded again to show that he understood.

"Thank you, Mr. Broad." After standing up and thanking the other party, Hetok prepared to leave.

"Why don't you stay for a cup of tea?" Brod asked with a smile, "We can sit down and chat..."

"No," Hetok refused bluntly, "Thank you for your kindness, but I'm very busy and have a lot of things to do. I don't have much time to enjoy a leisurely time."

"I think you'll be willing to sit down and talk with me soon." Brod didn't care and said to Hertok with a smile, "Next time we meet, it won't be here."

Hetok left the cabin on the lake and took the small broken boat back to the lakeshore. He already knew the boy's name, and the next step was to negotiate with him and get his gold membership card back.

"He's gone!"

As soon as Hertok left, McDougal smiled and sat in Hertok's place. He picked up the wine glass that Hertok had not touched, took a sip of red wine, blinked and said, "It tastes good. But Anderson didn't send me a bottle."

"Because I am his professor!" Brod touched his beard and smiled happily.

"Do you think Hetok will succeed?".

"If he cleans up the mess he made, he'll get his stuff back," Brod said with a smile.

"By the way, why are you meeting Hertog here with me?" McDougal asked again.

That’s right, the cabin on the lake is actually one of McDougal’s homes. Although it is called a cabin, it is actually a small manor.

"That guy will definitely not be able to get the gold membership card back. When he comes here to find me, he will definitely not be able to find me." Broad said happily.

"How did you guess it was a gold membership card?" McDougal asked back.

"Otherwise, what do you think would make Hertok take the trouble to find it?" Brod said happily.

"Then why ..."

"Why did it fail?" Brod asked back.

"Um."

"Anderson is different from other kids," Brode said softly. "If Hertock wants to use compensation to solve this matter, he will definitely fail."

"Well, I heard that Rowena is planning to go to Hogwarts to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor." McDougal suddenly changed the subject.

"Well..." Brod took a sip of red wine and frowned.

McDougal's tone became very serious, his brows slightly furrowed, "What is he doing at Hogwarts?"

"Does Gerber know about this?" Brod suddenly asked.

"Not sure yet." McDougal shook his head and said, "Go find him and ask him what's going on!"

"Gerber will definitely not tell Rowena about the inheritance rights just because they are relatives." Brode shook his head and directly rejected the most likely scenario: "As Smith's direct descendant, he must have seen some relevant records. Rowena is very smart, and he probably guessed something from these records."

"He's very smart, but his personality isn't suitable." McDougal said softly, "And... never mind. Now there are two more suitable candidates. I can just pick one from them when the time comes."

"Well, until then, keep an eye on them."

"I will." McDougal shook his goblet with a smile. "This wine is good. By the way, I won the bet last time!"

"I remember that most of your books were given away!" Brod shook his head helplessly and said, "How many copies have you sold in total?"

"I think it should be half." McDougal thought for a moment and said with a smile, "I'll admit defeat."

"Well, he's yours." Brod pointed to the opened bottle of red wine. Then he picked up the bottle and poured himself a small glass.

"Let's go find Gerber and get to the bottom of this." McDougal tapped the cork with his magic wand, and it automatically jumped back onto the bottle and re-corked it.

McDougal picked up the half-full bottle of red wine and walked towards the fireplace. Brod followed McDougal and disappeared into the fireplace, which was filled with green flames.
