Chapter 17: Cross the lake

In fact, children living in the wizarding world are usually very bored. The Weasley family's burrow is located among the hills and trees to the south of Ottery St. Catchpole. However, most Muggles have never even discovered that there is a house there.

There were only four wizarding households in the area, Diggory's being the closest, but still several miles away.

The only way for the two families to visit each other was to ride on broomsticks or use other means. In fact, the children of the four families had little contact with each other.

The Weasley children rarely went to Ottery St. Catchpole, let alone played with ordinary Muggles.

However, the twins said that their brother had a Muggle friend who was a beautiful girl.

"Muggles are generally difficult to get along with. They always think we are weird and usually can't play together. Besides... my home is far away from the town."

Li Qiaodan's situation is even worse. He is the only one in his family, so sometimes he can't even find a playmate.

Albert was much better than them, he had a sister, a pile of books, and occasionally played ball with others. However, he usually didn't play with a group of little brats, after all, it was boring.

Although he didn't have many good friends, Albert was still quite popular in school. After all, he had excellent grades, was very capable in all aspects, was easy to talk to, and knew how to manage interpersonal relationships.

Albert asked the three people and found out that children from the magical world actually do not go to Muggle schools.

It's really hard to imagine that a family like the Malfoys would let their children go to a Muggle school

Obviously not.

Of course, some wizards are exceptions.

However, the twins have never been there, and their initial knowledge was taught by their family.

"By the way, is there a wizard family named Smith?" Albert asked. His grandfather's family was originally from the Smith family. Later, he followed his Muggle relatives and changed his name casually.

It can be seen how much he hated the guy who abandoned him.

"No, how about you, George?" Fred looked at his twin brother.

"I haven't heard of it either." Li Qiaodan shook his head. "What's the matter?"

"Nothing, I just don't know where I've heard this last name." Albert moved his gaze to the window. Visibility was very low and the sky was gradually getting dark.

By the way, he didn't realize that Li Qiaodan was a chatterbox. This guy loved to talk all the time.

The three of them didn't feel bored, as it was boring in the cubicle anyway and listening to him nagging about things was like hypnosis.

Albert opened his eyes again and felt that the train seemed to slow down.

"The train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train and we will take it to the school for you." A voice echoed on the train through the loudspeaker.

"Merlin's beard is finally here." Fred stretched lazily. He was not in good spirits after sitting on the train for too long.

George helped to clean up the snacks on the table and put them into Albert's suitcase.

The train finally stopped, and the four people walked out of the compartment, pushing and shoving with the crowd in the aisle of the train, and rushed to the door.

When they got off the train, it was really a flurry. They got off to a small, dark platform, the cold rain was pouring down, and the chill of the night made Albert shiver.

"I hate rain." Albert muttered, took out his wand and cast a spell on the pointed hat, "Water and fire are invulnerable."

"Freshmen! Freshmen, come over here!" A loud voice shouted on the platform. He raised the oil lamp above everyone's head and shook it to attract the freshmen's attention.

"What are you doing? Hurry up." Fred reached out and pulled him.

"Wait a moment." Albert also cast a spell of invulnerability to water and fire on his robe. He didn't know whether the spell would be effective, but it was better to have it than not.

"Hurry up, Albert," Lee Jordan urged.

"Don't worry, it's coming. Luminescent flashes." Albert raised his wand and walked towards Hagrid. He was a tall man with a long beard, and looked quite scary from a distance.

If you didn't know, you would think he was a dangerous person. He looks really scary.

"Are there any first-year students? Now that you're all here, let's go!" Hagrid led them away from the platform. Without the shelter of the platform, the cold rain hit their bodies, giving the freshmen goose bumps all over their bodies.

"Watch your step," Hagrid shouted, but it was of no use. Because of the rain, the path was muddy and many people fell several times along the way.

Albert pulled his pointed hat and robe to wrap himself up more tightly. Fortunately, the fire and water invulnerability spell worked, so he didn't become a drowned chicken like the others.

Why didn't I learn how to use my magic wand to make an umbrella appear

Albert was a little annoyed, and he decided to take some time to learn this useful magic so that he wouldn't have to worry about not having a fan when it rains.

"Are you okay?" Another unlucky guy fell down in front of him.

"Thank you. It was a tough journey." The girl who was helped up said gratefully.

"Let's go." Albert let go of the other person's hand, used his wand to explore the way, and slowly walked forward.

This was definitely the worst class of freshmen. Many of them fell down and were covered in mud.

He also heard Li Jordan, who was unwilling to leave him, cursing in a low voice. He had just been taken away by the people around him.

Albert suddenly felt that it was a wise decision for him to stay behind. At least he wouldn't be dragged down by others.

"Be careful, we're going downhill." Hagrid shouted in front. After he went down, he waited on the side to prevent students from slipping while walking on this steep slope.

As it turned out, this was indeed a wise decision. Three unlucky guys almost fell down, but fortunately Hagrid pulled them in time.

"Be careful, we'll be at the lake soon."

After everyone went down the hill, Hagrid stepped forward to lead the way. They turned a corner with bumps and bumps, and finally arrived at a black lake.

On the hillside across the lake stands a castle, which is Hogwarts Castle.

There were lights flickering on the windows of the castle, which were particularly conspicuous in the rainy night.

"No more than four people on each boat. Remember, no more than four people!" Hagrid shouted to the newcomers, pointing at the small boat on the shore.

"Albert, over here." One of the twins waved at him. Lee Jordan was also here. They were all covered in mud and looked very disheveled.

"Are you all right?" Albert couldn't help laughing and got on the boat.

"It was bad. I fell once and was knocked down twice."

"Get on board," Hagrid called out. He held a lantern to make sure no one was overloaded, then took a boat by himself. "Very good, then... forward."

The boat moved forward across the lake without any oars.

Albert looked up and gazed at the castle in front of him, feeling a vague sense of inexplicable excitement. Hogwarts, here I come.
