Chapter 174: Not easy

"Thank you, bad luck."

Rufus stopped and looked down at the drink that had been spilled on him. He then looked up at the figure that had bumped into him and was gradually moving away. He felt quite annoyed. He had not expected to encounter such bad luck so early in the morning.

Rufus picked up the wand, removed the stains on his body, looked at Hopkirk nearby, frowned and asked: "What's going on? Why is Hetok Dagworth here, and so angry so early in the morning?"

"They just had a quarrel." Hopkirk pointed to the door of the director's office and reminded: "Don't ask too many questions."

"Had a fight?" Rufus didn't understand what Hopkirk meant. It was already a rare event to see Dagworth at the Ministry of Magic.

"There's a problem with Trace again." Hopkirk hesitated for a moment and lowered his voice and said, "It seems that this matter is related to Dagworth, so he came to the Ministry of Magic so early in the morning. However, it seems that the talks broke down, so they parted unhappily."

"It's not a big deal." Rufus was even more puzzled. When it comes to traces, most of them are related to underage wizards. However, it is rare enough for Dagworth, the potion master, to make a personal trip.

And it feels a bit unbelievable that the talks actually fell through.

Hertog Dagworth holds a high position in potions, and he is also a member of the Wizengamot. The Ministry of Magic would certainly give him some face in such a small matter, but how come the talks fell through

No matter how he thought about it, this seemed incredible to Rufus.

Hertog Dagworth was in a bad mood. In fact, he had known for a long time that the talks would fail, which was why he would rather spend some money to solve the problem than negotiate with the Ministry of Magic.

Although Hurtock paid little attention to the Ministry's affairs, he had heard something about the current Director, who was said to have a reputation for expressing shockingly cruel and ruthless opinions whenever she drank too much sherry.

It's impossible to reach an agreement with such a person.

The other party directly refused to write a letter of apology.

Even though Hetok had explained the matter clearly and expressed his willingness to pay the other party a sum of money privately as a token of gratitude after getting the gold membership card back.

However, it was rejected.

In her words, there had been no problems with the Ministry of Magic's traces, and she had not received any letter of explanation from them.

So, the deal fell through immediately.

Hetok stood at the door of his house, took a deep breath, and prepared to meet Brod again to hear if the other party could give him some damn advice.

Ever since losing his gold membership card, Hertok has been in a bad mood and his temper has become increasingly bad.

When Hertok went to the lake cabin again, he found that he could not find the exact location.

"Everything is really going wrong." Hertok muttered as he looked at the lake. He found that he could not find Brod, and even an owl could not deliver the letter.

"What on earth is going on? What on earth is Brod doing?"

Hetok looked at the lake in annoyance. There was no island in the lake, let alone a manor. It was as if all traces had been wiped out out of thin air.

The other party used advanced magic to completely hide the cabin in the lake.

Hector considered himself a skilled potion master, but was not particularly skilled in spells.

He tried to find the dilapidated pier and the boat, but after walking around the lake, he found nothing, as if all the memories in his mind were false.

Just as the Potions Master turned around and was about to leave, he suddenly found a house-elf appearing silently behind him.

"Please follow me," the house-elf walked forward, bowed slightly to Hetok, and then stretched out his hand. The latter had already understood what the other party meant, and the moment he stretched out his hand, he was Apparated by the house-elf.

When Hetok came to his senses, he found himself standing in front of a house, and the person he was looking for was sitting at a table in the yard, greeting him with a smile.

"What the hell are you doing!" Hertok was in a bad mood. He quickly walked up to the armchair opposite Broad, poured himself a cup of black tea, and drank it in one breath.

"Failed?" Although Badbold was asking, his tone confirmed that the other party had failed.

"That guy didn't want to, damn it, I explained everything clearly to him." Hetok poured himself another glass and drank it in one breath, trying to suppress his anger. He also knew that his tone was very bad.

"I'm not talking about this, I mean did you go to see Albert?"

"Well, that little guy is quite clever." Hetok frowned when talking about Albert, and stared at Brod with a reproachful look, "He seemed to have known that I would ask him for the gold membership card, and he had already hidden the gold membership card."

"Smart ass?" Brod ignored Hetok's gaze and didn't quite agree with his evaluation.

"Isn't it?" Hetok curled his lips.

"I've warned you before, don't use those petty tricks that are not worthy of being mentioned in public." Brod looked at Hertok and reminded him again: "Don't expect him to treat you well next time you see him."

"What else can I do?" Hetok drank another cup and put it heavily on the table. "I just talked to the old woman and she directly refused. I should say she directly denied it."

"You think it's easy for me to be stuck in the middle?" Hetok couldn't help but complain, "I just want to get my membership card back."

"What did he say he would do with the gold card?"

"Who, that boy?" Hetok frowned deeply, and after thinking for a while, he said, "I think he said he would melt the gold membership card and sell it in the Muggle world."

"It's pretty much what I expected." Brod nodded and warned, "Don't try to make him surrender. You won't succeed, and you'll get into trouble."

"I'm curious, why do you value that boy so much, talent, ability, or other reasons?" Hetok looked at Broad with confusion and asked puzzledly.

"This matter has nothing to do with you." Brod didn't want to talk about it anymore.

"I'm curious," Hertok asked.

"Maybe my vision is better than yours." Brod said with a cold joke, "So, I am optimistic about him."

Hetok remained silent. He naturally didn't believe such nonsense.

"If you want to get your gold membership card back, I'm afraid you can only start from the Ministry of Magic." Brod reminded, "Please don't ignore my reminder, otherwise you will definitely be in trouble."

Ever since Broad discovered that Albert dared to break into the Forbidden Forest in the middle of the night, and was able to knock down a large group of spiders while being surrounded by a group of eight-eyed giant spiders, and rescue Fred and George, he knew that Albert was not as simple as he imagined.

It is said that a wand matches the personality of its owner, and Albert's wand is made of red fir, which means that Albert may already have the ability to turn danger into safety.

In other words, Albert was not like the Gryffindor students who entered the Forbidden Forest simply because of recklessness, but he had already prepared a way to escape unscathed. Even if Broad did not show up, he had his own way.

You know, Albert is only twelve years old!

Ever since that incident, Brod has had a very high opinion of Albert.

If Hetok really ran into it head-on, he would probably hit a piece of iron plate and get his head broken and bleeding.

However, Hertok was in a very bad mood and had no mood to listen to these things. After he calmed down, he decided to write a letter to Dumbledore and ask the headmaster of Hogwarts to help him, at least not to make the second meeting between the two parties worse.
