Chapter 197: What are you planning again?

Views:

Friday, 10:30 pm, in the Gryffindor common room.

Albert was sitting in an armchair by the fireplace, flipping through the manuscript of "Advanced Magic Translation" that Professor Magic gave him a few days ago.

Not far away, Angelina, who had finished her homework, was playing wizard cards with Alia, while Lee Jordan, who kept looking over to the card game next to him, was doing his astronomy homework under the guidance of Sana.

"I win this round." Angelina smiled as she put away the wizard cards. She looked at Lee Jordan who was still doing his homework and asked in confusion, "Why haven't you finished yet?"

"Why not do your homework carefully first and then use the remaining time to play?" Alia couldn't understand Lee Jordan's way of thinking at all.

Angelina covered a yawn and asked, "Sanna, do you want to go back to the dormitory to rest?"

"You guys go back first, I'm almost there." Shanna said, looking at the button in front of her. She wanted to turn the button into a beetle, but turning a non-living thing into a living thing is much more difficult than turning a living thing into a non-living thing.

"Then let's go back and rest." Alia put the wizard card back into her pocket, took her friend's hand and returned to the dormitory together.

"Failed again." Shanna sighed, looked up at Albert and asked, "Any solution or trick?"

"Practice more." Albert said without hesitation.

“Ah, here we go again,” Zannah muttered. “What have you been looking at since just now?”

"It's the manuscript that Professor Babel asked me to help revise." After Albert finished marking it, he stuffed the manuscript back into the bag.

"Professor Babel?" Shanna had never heard of this professor's name.

"Professor Mo Wen." Albert reminded.

"Ancient Magic Rune? I heard that there is this elective course in the third grade. What do you plan to choose?" Shanna suddenly asked.

"Elective courses?" Lee Jordan asked curiously, "What elective courses?"

"Divination, Care of Magical Creatures, Muggle Studies, Ancient Runes, Arithmancy." Albert quickly named five subjects, "I plan to choose all of them."

"Select all, do you have enough time?" Shanna was very surprised.

"Enough, there is a way that can give me enough time." Albert said with a smile.

"I heard from others that ancient magic runes are difficult to learn." Shanna was a little confused about whether to choose ancient magic runes.

"Ancient Rune is like learning a foreign language."

"I remember you are good at foreign languages." Lee Jordan looked at Albert with envy on his face, "I remember you also know French and just went to France for vacation during the summer vacation."

After a moment's hesitation, Shanna said, "If it's not too difficult, I would like to choose all of them."

"What's easier?" Lee Jordan asked.

"Divination and Muggle Studies." Albert said without hesitation, "I heard it's a choice of two out of five."

"Why?" Lee Jordan continued.

"Divination requires talent. Without talent, you're just wasting your time. It doesn't matter if you just do your homework carelessly." Albert picked up the teacup and took a sip of the cold milk tea. "As for Muggle Studies, I feel that wizards don't understand Muggles. They may not even know what batteries, televisions, and light bulbs are?"

"Really?" Shanna asked in surprise.

"Do you know what a light bulb is?" Albert asked Lee Jordan next to him.

"Of course I know." Lee Jordan couldn't help rolling his eyes and said, "My family lives in a Muggle community. However, some pure-blood wizards who are completely isolated from the Muggle world may really not know."

"It's hard to imagine." Shanna was very surprised.

"It's not hard to imagine." Albert joked, "Just like my father didn't know how slugs turned into potions, just like Fred and George's father didn't know what rubber ducks were used for."

"Rubber... duck?" Sana bit her lip to stifle laughter.

"I remember Albert gave Fred and George a rubber duck during the summer vacation." Lee Jordan also remembered this.

"You are such a..." Sana finally couldn't help laughing, which immediately attracted many people's puzzled looks, "... You definitely did it on purpose."

"By the way, where are Fred and George?" Albert looked speechlessly at Sana who was trying not to laugh. He really couldn't understand what made her laugh.

"You mean those two bastards Fred and George? They went to the kitchen." Lee Jordan thought for a moment and said, "They said they were hungry and wanted to go to the kitchen to find something to eat."

"Who are you calling a bastard?"

The two voices came from the entrance of the common room.

Lee Jordan looked in the direction of the sound and saw Fred and George walking towards him. They each had a pie in their hands and were eating as they walked.

"We worked so hard to get you food..." They came over and couldn't help but complain, "Hmph, there's no share for you."

"Ahem, you heard me wrong." Lee Jordan coughed dryly and asked, "What's delicious?"

The people around him tried hard not to laugh out loud.

"Do you think we are deaf? Humph, go away, there is no share of the pie for you." Fred pushed Lee Jordan away with a smile and cursed, while George next to him took out the oil paper bag containing the pie from the pocket of his robe and gave the pie to Sana.

"What pie?" Sana took the oil paper bag and asked curiously.

“Steak and kidney pie,” George said.

She took a piece and handed the oil paper bag to Albert next to her.

Albert looked down at the steak and kidney pie in front of him. To be honest, he had no appetite.

"Give it to Lee Jordan!" Albert handed the oil paper bag to Lee Jordan.

"Don't give it to that bastard." Fred and George couldn't help but complain.

"This is what Albert gave me." Lee Jordan took the oil paper bag and snorted, "It has nothing to do with you now."

"You bastard."

"Aren't you going to eat?" Lee Jordan quickly changed the subject and asked Albert.

"No, I have no appetite." Albert shook his head.

"How about I give you half?" Shanna said with a smile, "It's not advisable to eat too much at night."

As she spoke, she actually cut the steak and kidney pie into two halves and stuffed one half into Albert's mouth.

Albert was speechless for a moment.

Steak and kidney pie is a traditional British delicacy, I guess!

This kind of thing tastes okay when it's freshly made and eaten while hot, but it doesn't taste very good when it gets cold.

It tastes worse than a completely cold meat bun.

Under the gaze of several people, Albert took a bite of steak and kidney pie. It tasted a little salty and had a subtle texture.

"It tastes good, right?" George asked with a smile.

"I prefer to eat it while it's hot," said Albert.

As they chatted, the common room gradually emptied out, the cold wind rattled the windows, and the fire in the fireplace was about to go out.

"I'll be ready later..." Albert made a gesture to the people who were playing wizard chess.

"What if we get caught?" Lee Jordan was a little worried. "Last time, William was caught for a night out, and Professor McGonagall was so angry that he made him clean the chamber pot for several days. I don't want to get a nickname like the Little Prince of Chamber Pot."

"The little prince of the chamber pot?"

"In the Muggle world, there is a prince named William." Albert explained, trying to suppress his smile, "I remember he only brushed it once last year."

"More than once," Fred said with a smile.

"It's not important!" Lee Jordan looked helpless. He was indeed worried about being caught for night wandering.

"Don't worry, we won't be caught." Fred and George looked at each other, blinked, and said in unison, "You have to have faith in Albert."

"What are you going to do on your night out?" Lee Jordan asked in a low voice.

"Go to the restricted section to find books. Remember Snape's ability to see through other people's thoughts?" Albert whispered, "That is indeed a kind of magic called Legilimency. I plan to go to the restricted section of the library to find books that can counter this magic."

"When do we leave?" Lee Jordan asked excitedly.

"Don't you want to go?" Fred couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"I want to learn this kind of magic, too." Lee Jordan said excitedly, "Besides, if we get caught, we'll all be in trouble together. What's there to be afraid of?"

"No one can catch us." George snorted. "But I don't think you can learn Legilimency."

"How will you know if you don't try?"

"Legliminy is indeed difficult." Albert poured cold water on Lee Jordan, causing Fred and George to burst out laughing.
