Daily Life at Hogwarts

Chapter 2: Anderson's past

No one moved. Everyone just stood there frozen for at least half an hour... well, probably only ten seconds actually.

Albert bent down and picked up the pale yellow envelope. It was an unstamped letter with a line of words written in emerald green ink. He read it softly:

19 Tiber Avenue, door, Mr. Albert Anderson.

When Albert read this text, he found that he had actually triggered a task:

The Wizard's Path.

You have the potential to be a wizard, but you are not qualified yet. Now you have a precious opportunity to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and become a student.

Rewards: 10,000 experience points, 2 skill points, and wizard bloodline +1.

Wizard bloodline

Albert was stunned.

What the hell is this.

Two skill points are very tempting. You have to know that becoming a student of Eton College only gives you one skill point, and Albert has only got three skill points after accumulating them for so many years, and he is reluctant to use them.

However, what’s even more ridiculous is that this is actually a novel world.

The magical world in the Harry Potter novels

Albert turned the envelope over and saw the Hogwarts shield emblem, with a capital "h" surrounded by a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake.

"Mom, do zoos now train owls to be postmen?" Nia stared at the owl that stayed nearby curiously.

"Nia, I don't think anyone would use an owl to send a letter. At least normal people wouldn't. Maybe this is just a prank." Daisy looked at her husband and saw Herb's frown, so she asked, "What's wrong, honey? Should we go out?"

"It's nothing, Albert, let me see the letter." Herb said softly.

"Oh, here." Albert handed the envelope to his father.

"Honey!" Daisy said a little unhappy.

Herb didn't notice the displeasure on his wife's face. He quickly opened the envelope, took out the parchment inside and glanced at it. Then he said, "Children, it seems that our plan will be postponed."

"Dear Herb, what happened? What's in the letter?" Daisy felt that her husband was a little abnormal, and her tone became heavier.

"Dad, what's in the letter?" Nia couldn't help but ask. On the contrary, Albert, who received the letter, didn't react much.

"Let's go back to the living room, Daisy." Herb slammed the car door and returned to the living room with his family.

After the entrance door was closed, the owl that delivered the letter still did not leave.

"Dear Herb, you'd better give me a proper explanation." Daisy looked angry. She couldn't wait to see her son wearing Eton College uniform.

"Dad, what's in the letter? Read it out to everyone. I also want to know who can predict where I will appear." There was no emotional fluctuation on Albert's face. Of course, he knew what the letter was about. If he had not experienced the time travel and panel events, he might have shown a shocked expression after seeing the letter.

But with the previous two shocks as a foundation, it didn't seem too strange to find himself living in a world of a novel. What's more, he had read the best-selling Harry Potter series and even wrote a fan fiction.

At that time, I checked a lot of information and had some understanding of the world view of this novel.

"Then I'll read it." Herber glanced at his son who was as calm as ever, and read out the contents on the parchment:

Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Albus Dumbledore (President of the International Confederation of Magic, President of the Wizarding Association, First-class Magician of the Order of Merlin)

"Hogwarts... School!" Daisy's eyes widened in surprise, because she had already guessed what this was... An admission letter

"Magic, is there really magic in this world?" Nia's face was filled with excitement that could not be concealed. "I also want to learn magic and go to a magic school."

"Hate Albert, let me go!" Nia looked at her brother with dissatisfaction. She was about to go over to read the letter, but was stopped by Albert.

"Nia, let Dad finish reading the letter." Albert motioned for his father to continue reading the letter, and pulled his angry mother to sit down.

"Son, I will never let you go to Hogg..." Daisy was very angry. She felt that her husband might know something.

Herb coughed lightly and continued reading:

Dear Mr. Anderson:

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enclosed is a list of required books and equipment.

The semester starts on September 1st. We will be waiting for your OWL by July 21st.

Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress.

Herb finished reading the letter and handed it to his son.

Albert took a quick glance at it and handed it to his curious sister, while Nia took the letter and ran to her mother Daisy.

Daisy studied the contents of the letter sentence by sentence and then said word by word:

"I absolutely do not agree to let Albert go to this kind of school. No, someone must be playing a trick on us. Maybe we should call the police immediately and catch that annoying troublemaker."

"Mom, does the owl waiting for you on the letter mean that we should write back to them?" Nia suddenly said.

Daisy didn't say anything, but stared at her husband with an oppressive look.

Albert asked, "Dad, do you know something?"

"Not really." Herb put his hand on his head, as if he was lost in a brief memory: "When I was about the same age as you, my father, your grandfather, was disappointed that I didn't receive any letters from Hogwarts."

"I once asked my father what Hogwarts was and he just said it was a school."

"Then, one time, when my father was drunk, I asked him why he wanted me to go to Hogwarts."

"He just said he was a Squib, but I don't know what the word means." Herb's tone was very low. He still remembered that time when his father cried.

"I think now I know what Hogwarts is. Father will be very happy to know that his grandson received a letter from Hogwarts."

Albert certainly knew what a squib meant, but he had never really thought about the fact that he had some connection with wizards.

By the way, there are no similar skills in his skill column, otherwise he would have noticed it long ago.

"Yes, I should write to him, no, call him, he will definitely be very happy!" Herb suddenly said, as if he was planning to call his father.

"Heber Anderson!" Daisy shouted, "Albert should go to Eton College. He will achieve more than we can imagine, instead of going to a school that no one has ever heard of. You know? This is related to his future. I will never allow you to..."

"Mom, we haven't confirmed whether magic exists yet." Albert reached out and grabbed his mother who was about to go berserk, and comforted her softly, "Didn't the letter say to wait for your owl? Maybe we should write a letter to the other party and ask someone from that Hogwarts school to prove whether magic exists. If they can't prove it, then it means they are lying."

"Okay, son, I agree with you. Let that damn school prove the authenticity of this letter." Daisy clenched her fist and waved it vigorously. "Just wait and see. I will call the police to catch those scammers and make them spend a few years in jail."
