Daily Life at Hogwarts

Chapter 22: House of Requests

When Albert woke up, the dormitory was pitch black and the sound of rain could be faintly heard outside the window. The rain from last night had not stopped yet.

Albert sat up from the bed and put his hand to cover a yawn. It was all because of the strange dream last night. He felt very tired when he woke up.

Moreover, he woke up too early, and the three roommates in the same dormitory were still sleeping.

Albert reached for the head of the bed, picked up the wand in the corner, and whispered: "Luminescent flashes."

The tip of the wand emitted a pale light. He put the glowing wand close to the mechanical pocket watch and glanced at the time: 5:40.

Sure enough, I woke up too early.

Albert extinguished the light on his wand and lay back on the bed. The mechanical pocket watch slipped from his hand and fell onto the sheets.

This was a gift Luke bought for himself to celebrate his invitation to Hogwarts.

Now that he was awake, Albert did not plan to continue taking a nap. He sat up on the bed again, stretched his body, pushed aside the sheets, got out of bed and walked to the window. He opened the wooden bolt, opened the wooden window and looked out of the tower.

A gust of cold wind blew in his face, and Albert couldn't help but shiver, and his head suddenly became clear.

The rain was not heavy and it was still pitch dark outside. The whole castle was shrouded in a hazy curtain of rain.

"A great adventure." Albert patted his cheek and muttered softly.

After closing the window, Albert returned to his bed, took out his robe from the suitcase and put it on. He then picked up the pocket watch and wand beside the bed and put them in his pocket. Before he walked out of the dormitory, he stopped and threw the clothes he had just changed into the basket in the bathroom. The house elf would use magic to wash the clothes and then put them back on his bed.

Having said that, students at Hogwarts actually have a pretty good life. They don't have to worry about many things and just need to focus on studying magic.

The common room was very quiet, with only a female ghost sitting on the sofa reading a book. She heard footsteps, raised her head to glance at Albert, and then continued to read her book.

Albert did not disturb the ghost lady, although he wanted to chat with her, but finally gave up, because he hated being disturbed when he was reading.

Albert did not stay in the lounge. He planned to wander around the castle before everyone got up, and to look for the legendary Room of Requirement.

Pushing open the door of the lounge, Albert bent down and stepped out of the round door. The Fat Lady was still wearing her pajamas and looked at the students leaving with sleepy eyes.

She asked, "Where are you going?"

"Take a walk." Albert looked at the dim corridor, raised his wand and continued to move forward. This time, he did not plan to take the same route he came last night, but to walk somewhere else.

Perhaps, because it was raining outside, the corridor was cold and damp, much like the eerie castle in a horror movie, where ghosts might emerge from the walls at any time and scare people half to death.

In fact, there are indeed ghosts in Hogwarts Castle, and there are quite a few of them. Even if a ghost comes out of the wall now, it is not a strange thing.

As soon as he turned the corner, Albert saw the stone steps he had come up last night. This time, he did not go down, but continued forward.

Turning another corridor, Albert found a large vase in front of him. He turned his head and looked around, and surprisingly he found the tapestry of the giant wearing a ballet skirt.

"It seems that I am lucky."

Albert quickened his pace, walked to the tapestry, raised his wand, and used the light from it to look at the strange tapestry in front of him. It could only be described as unbearable to look at.

In the tapestry, a group of trolls dressed in ballet costumes, holding wooden or bone sticks, are posing in various seductive postures. A ballet teacher is trying to teach the trolls to dance, but is beaten by a troll with a bone stick.

While Albert was observing the tapestry, the troll stopped beating the ballet teacher and turned his head to look at him, as if asking, "What are you looking at?"

If Albert had brought a camera, he would have definitely taken a picture of this funny scene.

But the main thing now is the Room of Requirement, which is located in the white wall opposite the tapestry.

Albert made way, turned around and looked at the white wall, then turned his head and looked at the tapestry, raised his right hand, and made a knocking gesture towards the troll.

The giant monster with rotten teeth actually imitated him and raised the bone stick to hit the poor ballet teacher.

This scene is so sad that it makes people cry.

Albert laughed happily, walked towards the white wall, and reached out to touch the white wall. It was a very hard stone wall, and there was no so-called Room of Requirement.

The condition for entering the Room of Requirement is to pass through this wall three times and concentrate on thinking about what you need.

"Go through?" Albert raised his wand, and the pale light illuminated one end of the white wall where there was a window. He turned around and saw a person-high vase.

So, I walked there three times

"A place to practice magic, a place to practice magic..." Albert concentrated his attention, walked to the window at one end of the white wall, turned back, and then went to the vase at the other end and returned.

He muttered something to himself, and when he turned around for the third time, changes appeared on the wall.

Countless patterns appeared on the white wall, and a smooth door gradually emerged.

Albert was in a good mood because he knew he had succeeded. He grasped the brass handle, opened the door and walked in. Inside was a spacious room with torches lit around the walls, a bit like a classroom.

There were many wooden bookshelves on the wall, with hundreds of books on them. Albert suspected that these books were moved from the library. On the other side, there were some dolls used to practice magic.

"Great." Albert said softly. With these books, he didn't need to go to the library to find books.

However, when using this place, you still need to be careful not to be discovered. After all, a door suddenly appearing on the wall can easily attract other people's attention.

Albert did not stay any longer and turned to leave the Room of Requirement. He was ready to consider how to use this place secretly.

If he doesn't want anyone to know, he needs to make sure he doesn't meet anyone when he comes in, and doesn't meet anyone else when he goes out, so that he can keep the secret here.

He needed a Disillusionment Charm and a Marauder's Map.

The Disillusionment Charm should be found in the pile of books just now, but the Marauder's Map is not easy to get from Filch.

Make one yourself

He doesn't have that ability now.

Forget it, take your time! I still have to stay here for seven years anyway.

After Albert turned and left, the door of the Room of Requirement slowly disappeared again and turned into an ordinary white wall again. Few people in the school knew that there was a magical room here.
