Chapter 226: Insider

Put yourself in their shoes.

If I were the designer of Ravenclaw's treasure house of knowledge, I would naturally want more students to gain knowledge from it, and there would be nothing in the treasure house that could be easily taken away.

There is no guarantee that all students found here are of good character.

Then, the real treasure must still be in that secret room.

But what about the things

Albert guessed that it must be hidden.

Ravenclaw selects smart students through screening. The first hurdle is the Eagle Ring, and only those who answer the riddle correctly are eligible to enter. So why can't there be a second or even a third hurdle

There should be a secret door in the secret room, or something similar, but what would be the key to open it

Albert ate and thought at the same time, tapping his fork lightly on the plate as he thought carefully about any clues he might have missed.

There are only two things in the secret room, the eternal fire: Gubley fairy fire, and ancient magic runes.

What if the eternal fire was used for lighting

Then the possibility would be in the ancient magic runes.

Professor Broad and Professor Smith probably had such doubts, so they asked me to translate those things.

However, wizards in the past used ancient magic runes.

What have I overlooked

Albert seemed to touch something.

What is so special about ancient magic runes

By the way, runes are a kind of magical writing.

There is also the saying that extraordinary intelligence and talent are mankind's greatest wealth. Perhaps this is the key to opening the secret door.

However, it is not easy to reach that level. Albert once guessed that when his magic skill reaches level three, he might be able to initially reach that level.

If that's the case...

Just as Albert was about to open the skill panel, a voice suddenly sounded in his ears. It was the house-elf Kara, who looked at him anxiously.

"Kara, is there something wrong?" Albert looked up and asked.

"Sir, are these foods not to your liking?" Kara asked a little uneasily.

"No, it's delicious. I'm just thinking about something." Albert's eyes fell on the plate in front of him. He didn't eat much of the food, so it was no wonder that the house-elf said that.

As he spoke, he finished most of the food in just a few bites.

Kara couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief when she heard Albert's answer and smiled at him.

However, being interrupted by the house-elf, Albert did not rush to check his skills. He quickly finished his food and got up to leave the kitchen.

The castle was still empty and the Quidditch game had not yet ended.

It's already half past three in the afternoon.

Albert put away his pocket watch, walked to the window next to him, and looked outside the castle through the glass. The heavy rain had stopped.

"Do you want to go?"

He hesitated for a moment, but still walked towards the Quidditch field alone.

Due to the rain, the road was muddy. As soon as he approached the Quidditch field, Albert could feel a lively atmosphere coming towards him. He pushed open the door and walked in quietly along the stairs, his eyes fell on the several figures intertwining above.

A moment later, Lee Jordan shouted from a distance, "Gryffindor scored a goal. The current score is 140:180. Ravenclaw is temporarily in the lead."

The two sides were actually stuck in a tug of war.

However, the score difference is not big, as long as Charlie can catch the Golden Snitch, Gryffindor will win.

"I thought you weren't going to come to the game."

Albert turned his head and looked in the direction where the sound came from. It was Isobel, who was walking towards him with a pair of binoculars in her hand.

"Um."

Albert responded and turned his gaze back to the top of the court.

"It seems that you have also discovered the secret." Isobel was not angry because of Albert's attitude, but just said something puzzling.

Albert turned his head suddenly and stared at Isobel.

"You used Legilimency on me? No..." Albert didn't think Isobel could break through his brain occlusion. Even if she really used Legilimency on him, he wouldn't be unaware of it.

So, that means... she knew about that

"What secret?" Albert pretended not to understand.

Isobel glanced at Albert and said nothing more.

"Are you referring to the Room of Requirement?" Albert would not let either side fall into silence, because that would mean it would be difficult for him to obtain any other information.

"Yeah." Isobel nodded imperceptibly.

"I didn't find what I wanted." Albert frowned. He felt that Isobel could provide him with some information.

"No, I just found relevant records in the literature."

"Don't tell me you haven't been in there before?" Albert frowned.

"My ancient magic words are not as good as yours!" Isobel glanced at Albert and said lightly. "It's difficult for me to understand the ancient magic words in it."

"Perhaps, Ravenclaw has never thought that runes will eventually become a thing of the past!" Albert suddenly sighed. He felt that the knowledge in the treasure house of knowledge was left to students. After all, only students and professors could be in Hogwarts and discover the secrets there.

"It seems that you haven't gained anything!" Isobel's tone was filled with undisguised disappointment.

"Where did you know that secret?" Albert asked curiously.

"And you?"

Both sides fell silent again.

Finally, the eerie atmosphere was broken by the cheers from the field. The seekers from both teams were fighting for the Golden Snitch. All the spectators in the field stood up, their eyes fixed on this fight. Whoever caught the Golden Snitch would bring victory to his team.

However, there seemed to be some mysterious force that allowed the game to continue. While the two seekers were fighting for the ball, the Golden Snitch slipped away again.

People who were originally ready to cheer for the winner could only turn all their emotions into dissatisfied boos.

"Professor Broad and Professor Smith came to Hogwarts for this?" Albert felt that Isobel should know something. She knew these two professors and had a close relationship with them.

"You don't know?" Isobel put down her binoculars and looked at Albert, with a hint of weirdness in her tone.

"Know what?"

"Nothing." Isobel didn't seem to intend to answer Albert's question.

Albert looked at Isobel deeply and found that he could not see through the guy in front of him.

Is there anything you haven't noticed

"You mean an invitation to join some loosely organized group?" Albert remembered the invitation from last Easter and the circle that Dagworth talked about.

"You'll know later." Isobel didn't answer, or wasn't prepared to answer, she turned and left.

"Guessed it right? At least part of it is right." Albert looked at Isobel's departing back and couldn't help muttering, "She is really a woman full of secrets."
