Chapter 23: The Secret Passage and Filch

By the way, his panel couldn't be a deleted version, without a map function. Albert was still in the mood to make fun of his panel function. After finding the Room of Requirement, he was in a good mood.

There is no way. In the online novels I read before, the protagonist’s built-in system is usually very powerful. After turning on the scanning function, nothing can be hidden.

Now, thinking about it carefully, the functions of my panel are really pitiful.

In fact, Albert was very happy to have this golden finger of the panel.

"I remember the principal's office is also on the eighth floor, but I don't know which eighth floor it is." Albert murmured.

Of course, he had no intention of sneaking into the principal's office. If he was noticed by that old man Dumbledore, his life in school would be difficult.

After all, there were portraits all over Hogwarts Castle, and it would have been easy for Dumbledore to find out what a student was doing.

Albert turned two more corners and found a staircase leading down.

I walked down the stairs and started wandering around the castle, only to find myself lost.

Okay, maybe it wasn't called being lost, it was just that he had never been here before.

Albert stopped in front of a wall, the light of his wand flashed across the carvings on the wall. He reached out and tapped it lightly. It was solid.

However, Albert suspected that there was a secret passage here, but there was no way, the carvings of griffons on the wall were too suspicious. Usually such places would have hidden doors and secret passages.

"Kid, what are you doing here?" Nick came out from the wall next to him and looked at Albert in surprise as he was examining the carvings.

Albert was startled by the sudden sound and felt like his heart was about to jump out of his chest.

Albert took a few deep breaths to calm his over-rapid heartbeat, and couldn't help complaining to Nick: "Don't be so elusive, you'll scare people to death."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Nick raised his eyebrows and asked again, "What are you doing here?"

"A walk," Albert answered honestly.

"Walking at this time?" Nick looked at the corridor in confusion. It was still very early.

"Yes, taking a walk. Sir Nicholas, I wonder if you have time to introduce Hogwarts to me. It's like a maze here. I accidentally got lost while taking a walk." Albert looked at Nick with a smile. If the other party was willing to help, he could save a lot of time.

"Oh, I think exploring the castle is one of the great pleasures of being a freshman," Nick politely declined.

"You're right." Albert didn't care that Nick rejected him. After greeting him with a smile, he continued to study the sculpture of a griffon in front of him.

Nick looked at Albert's back, shook his head and reminded him, "If you want to open that door, the switch is on the claws of the Griffin."

"Thank you." Upon hearing this, Albert reached out to the claws of the griffon and knocked gently a few times. The stone door slowly opened, revealing a narrow secret passage inside.

"See you later, Sir Nicholas." Albert nodded slightly to the ghost to express his gratitude, raised his wand and walked into the secret passage.

It is very narrow inside and only allows one person to pass through. It is definitely not a good place for people with claustrophobia.

Albert could feel himself walking downwards, and he didn't know where the secret passage led to, but being able to discover its existence was good news for Albert.

Sure enough, the ghosts and portraits that lived in the castle knew more about Hogwarts.

The exit was hidden behind a portrait. After Albert moved the portrait away, the old man in pajamas glared at him unhappily, complaining that Albert had disturbed his rest.

"Sorry to bother you!" Albert apologized to the old man in the portrait and continued walking forward. He felt that he might get lost again.

However, this time Albert found the movable staircase.

No matter how many times he watched it, he always thought the moving staircase was a spectacular sight.

It is said that the Moving Stairs and the Room of Requirement were both designed by Rowena Ravenclaw. I wonder if I can reach this level in the future

By the way, will Rowena Ravenclaw hide any secrets in the Room of Requirement

After all, didn’t Slytherin keep a basilisk in his Chamber of Secrets

Come to think of it, it does make sense. Next time I go there, I can definitely give it a try. Who knows, I might be able to unearth some secrets.

It took Albert ten minutes to walk down the stairs. On the way, he encountered a change in the stairs, so he had to stay where he was and wait for the stairs to return to their original state. Fortunately, he didn't have to wait too long. Thank God, no, now he should thank Merlin.

As soon as he entered the hallway, Albert's attention was attracted by a cat. The cat was a little thin, with dark gray fur, and was completely different from his own Tom.

He bent down to shake it, but the cat ran away so fast that it disappeared in a flash.

Albert knew that it was probably the cat of the administrator Filch, whose name was Mrs. Although he had read the book and watched the movie Harry Potter, after a long time, he could not remember some unimportant things, especially the names of the extras.

If I hadn't written fan fiction before and looked up a lot of information, I would probably have forgotten it even faster.

The cat ran away, probably to call for help. Albert was not worried that Filch would come to cause trouble for him.

After all, it was already past six o'clock and the sky was not yet completely bright, all because it was raining outside.

Just as Albert was about to enter the auditorium, a grunting sound was heard, and the somewhat elderly Filch walked towards them holding an oil lamp.

Albert noticed that Filch was still drowsy, wearing only a cloak, with a happy smile on the corner of his mouth, the smile of catching prey.

"Good morning, Mr. Filch." Albert raised his hand and greeted the other party, as if he had met a familiar friend.

"Good morning?" Filch reached out to grab Albert, but he easily dodged it by stepping back.

"Of course, it's already 6:15, Mr. Filch." Albert took out his pocket watch from his pocket, checked the time, handed it to Filch and asked, "When will meals be served in the hall?"

Filch was also startled because Albert deliberately moved his wand towards the pocket watch so that he could see the time better.

Filch, who originally thought he had caught a student wandering around at night, suddenly looked like a child who heard that the Halloween party was cancelled.

In fact, it was already morning, although it was still dark and no other students were awake yet.

"7 o'clock." Filch turned away unhappily, leaving a message before leaving: "It's better not to let me see..."

Albert didn't hear the last few words clearly, but they weren't important anyway.

But does Filch really hate students

I wish I could arrest them all and put them in solitary confinement.

I pushed the door open and walked into the auditorium. It was very dark here, and the suspended candles were all extinguished. The lively scene from last night was no longer there.

Albert turned and left, ready to continue exploring the castle's kitchen.
