Chapter 273: Where is Lu Wei?

Views:

The Forbidden Forest is huge, but dogs are hard to find.

Albert and Hagrid had been walking in the Forbidden Forest for more than ten minutes, but still hadn't found any clues. To put it bluntly, they were just wandering around in the Forbidden Forest.

"Hagrid, do you have any plans?" Albert felt that Hagrid, the person involved, was probably so anxious that he had no time to think and ignored many things, so he reminded him.

Albert didn't want to wander around the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid. Although he felt that he was lucky, he always felt that relying on luck to do things was unreliable.

"Well..." Hagrid pulled out several strands of his long beard when he heard that. He was still unable to regain his composure. "I don't have time to think about these things. Besides, I'm not good at using my brain. I'm just going to look in the Forbidden Forest first. Maybe I can find some traces left by Fluffy."

As expected, I have no plan. I am just going to look around and try my luck

Albert couldn't help but sigh in his heart, stopped and looked at Hagrid helplessly and said, "Looking like this is completely a matter of luck. If you're lucky, you'll find it soon. If you're unlucky, you may not be able to find it in ten days or half a month."

Hagrid was silent, and said to Albert: "My mind is a mess now. I know you are smart. Tell me what to do now?"

"Well..." Albert asked tentatively, "How did you find things before?"

"Wandering around in the Forbidden Forest." Hagrid looked a little embarrassed. "I'm familiar with the periphery of the Forbidden Forest, but... this will take a lot of time, and I'm worried that Fluffy will run around and hurt Hogwarts students."

"Care leads to confusion." Albert sighed and raised two fingers. "There are two ways. First, ask the residents here. You should know the residents in the Forbidden Forest, right?"

"Residents?" Hagrid asked Albert a little confused. "Do you mean the centaurs?"

"Not just centaurs, other magical animals are the same." Albert reminded Hagrid, "The three-headed dog is a very dangerous magical animal. Without your feeding, it needs to hunt to fill its stomach. It is definitely a top predator outside the Forbidden Forest. Most animals have specific activity ranges. Of course, it would be even better if the centaurs could provide useful intelligence."

Hagrid understood immediately that the three-headed dog was running around in the Forbidden Forest, but it always needed to fill its stomach, which meant that Fluffy would be attracted to hunting grounds with abundant prey.

This was also one of the problems that Hagrid was originally worried about. What if Fluffy attacked the students when he was hungry

There aren't many animals in the Forbidden Forest in winter.

"Let's go to some places nearby where there are dense animals to look for Fluffy first." Hagrid led the way. He was very familiar with the Forbidden Forest and knew where to find animals in winter.

"The second method is the Felicis." Albert saw Hagrid react, so he followed behind him and spoke.

"What's that?" Hagrid had never heard of Felicis Felicis, and the magical knowledge he had learned was not necessarily as rich as Albert's.

"It's a lucky potion, the kind of magical potion that improves your luck after drinking it. I still have some lucky potions. If you really can't find Lu Wei, you can try your luck with it." Albert explained casually, "Of course, it may not work."

Hagrid heaved a sigh of relief, thinking it was great to have a reliable helper. At least, he was not alone in worrying.

At first, Hagrid left food at the place where Fluffy was originally kept, and went to check it every day. Although there were signs of being bitten on the food, it was not done by Fluffy.

The two walked on the snow for a while, and Hagrid pointed to the traces on the ground and said, "There is an animal trail here. Occasionally, a deer or other animal will pass by. However, most animals drink water in the nearby river in winter. There is a spring there, so it will not freeze completely in winter."

When we arrived at the river, we did find many signs of animal activities, but we still couldn't find any footprints left by Lu Wei.

"Let's continue going up. The location of the spring is near the centaurs' activity range. Let's go and see if the centaurs have seen Fluffy. It's hard to hide what happened in the Forbidden Forest from the centaurs." After getting Albert's reminder, Hagrid began to get into the state quickly.

Although this was also unreliable, Albert couldn't think of a better way.

"Wait, Hagrid, let me try the Flying Charm." Albert suddenly thought of something, so he raised the wand in his hand and chanted a spell towards the surrounding forest.

"Lu Wei is flying here."

The flying spell is also effective on living things. Albert thinks that his magic power is very strong. Maybe if he is lucky enough, the three-headed dog will fly back by itself.

This is the ideal situation.

Of course, the reality is quite cruel.

Failed.

However, think about it, a magical creature like the three-headed dog is probably very resistant to magic. Unless Albert uses the Elder Wand to cast a spell, he doesn't expect it to succeed. He just wants to try to see if he can make some noise. If he's lucky enough, maybe he can really succeed.

Hagrid looked at Albert who was casting the spell, then looked at the surrounding woods, feeling a little disappointed.

"Hagrid, can you use the Summoning Charm? Why don't you try to use it to summon something on Fluffy's body?" Albert thought for a moment and said, "I mean something like a dog pen."

"No, you know, Lu Wei grows too fast, and I didn't bring a dog collar for him." Hegelian was a little embarrassed.

Albert found himself speechless. The three-headed dog did grow very fast during its growth period.

The two continued to walk upstream along the river and entered the range of the centaurs' activities.

Before he could walk far, he heard some noises coming from his side. He raised his bow and aimed at the direction where the sound came from, and asked, "Who's there? Come out."

"It's me, Hagrid." The brown-red centaur walked out of the woods, his eyes swept from Hagrid to Albert, then looked back at Hagrid and said, "You shouldn't have brought a foal here."

"Ronan, have you ever seen a three-headed dog?" Hagrid asked his centaur friend expectantly.

The brown-red centaur did not reply, but looked at Albert again and asked softly: "Have we met before?"

"Yes, last night, thank you for your help."

"Ronan," Hagrid repeated, with a hint of dissatisfaction in his voice. No one likes to be ignored, and Hagrid is no exception.

"I've seen it, Hagrid. It's a three-headed dog. It's not very friendly and seems hungry. The patrolling centaurs drove it away with arrows. You can try your luck over there." Ronan raised his hand and pointed in a direction. That was the direction Albert and Hagrid had just come from.

Hagrid glanced in the direction of Ronan's raised finger and fell into a brief silence.

"You are half the owners here. Can you help Hagrid find his pet? I don't think you should...!" Albert tried to seek help from the centaur.

Before Albert could finish his words, Hagrid pushed him and signaled that it was time to leave.

Albert looked at Hagrid with a strange expression, but quickly shut up.

"Goodbye Ronan, thank you for the information!" Hagrid said goodbye to the centaur.

"The centaurs won't help." Hagrid waited until he had walked Albert far enough before he spoke: "Centaurs are all like that. Don't expect them to be of much help. Let's go and keep looking. I have a feeling that we might be able to find Fluffy today."

It's no use having a hunch.

Albert couldn't help but complain. He felt that if Hagrid had told Dumbledore the truth, he might have found his little pet.

"By the way, Hagrid. Do the centaurs have a wide range of activities?" Albert remembered something and asked curiously.

"Yes, it covers a wide range." Hagrid reminded, "You need to be especially careful when dealing with them. Most centaurs don't like wizards very much."
