Daily Life at Hogwarts

Chapter 316: The Bronze Book

Views:

After the holiday, the weather became clearer and warmer. Finally, everyone could not bear the temptation, put down their heavy homework, left the library and strolled on the lawn to relieve the pressure of study.

Albert had just returned from Hagrid's hut. There was no movement in the Forbidden Forest. Hagrid told him three times how he shot the werewolf Yorman in the knee with an arrow and successfully captured him.

Unfortunately, the Ministry of Magic was unwilling to pay a bounty for the unfortunate werewolf, on the grounds that the werewolf Yorman had not been offered a bounty by the Ministry of Magic. Hagrid himself did not mind, but Albert looked down on the Ministry of Magic's actions, thinking that it was no big deal to just walk away.

Albert returned to the hall and saw Fred and George sitting there playing Wizard Cards, with several spectators around them. After two rounds of eliminations, the number of Wizard Card enthusiasts increased.

Of course, this had something to do with the twins using brand new wizard cards, and the crowd watching wanted to borrow them for a game.

Lee Jordan was flipping through today's Prophet newspaper nearby. When he saw Albert coming, he put down the newspaper and greeted him.

"How about it?"

"Everyone is still looking for Professor Smith all over the world." Lee Jordan couldn't help but sigh, "Now no one knows where he has gone. The reward in the newspaper has increased again. Anyone who can help the Smith family find him or provide useful information will be rewarded with 1,000 Galleons. I really want this money!"

"There is nothing missing in dreams."

Albert took the Daily Prophet from Lee Jordan and read the front-page news carefully. He couldn't help but shake his head. "Rita Skeeter actually thinks this is Hogwarts' problem. That woman even blamed it on Headmaster Dumbledore. Is she crazy about becoming famous?"

"Dad said that reporter likes to fabricate news." Fred suddenly interrupted.

"Originally, I thought I would find Professor Smith soon." George threw down the card and muttered, "In the end, there is no news at all. Professor Smith seems to have disappeared out of thin air."

"What do you think?" Angelina took George's wizard deck and prepared to play a game with Shanna.

"Some people say that Professor Smith might have been killed or kidnapped, which is why he disappeared inexplicably." Albert hesitated, "I think this possibility is more likely."

"Hey, hey, you don't have to curse Professor Smith like that!" Fred was speechless. Albert's mouth that kept saying all sorts of nonsense was really annoying.

Could it be that Professor Smith is really dead

"I'm just stating the most likely scenario!" Albert shook his head. "A wizard as powerful as Professor Smith can't just disappear without warning, and there's no reason for him to do so. The most likely scenario is that he was kidnapped, or is already dead. Otherwise, why do you think he's hiding?"

Everyone around was silent, because what Albert said made sense. This matter was still strange. No one knew why Professor Smith left Hogwarts in a hurry and where he went.

"I thought you had a good relationship with Professor Smith."

"The relationship is good, and I have been paying attention to this matter."

"Where are you going?" Lee Jordan asked when he saw Albert put down the newspaper and prepare to leave.

"Go find Professor Broad and see if he has any new information." Albert stood up and prepared to go to the Defense Against the Dark Arts Office.

Of course, what I just said was just an excuse.

A few minutes later, Albert knocked on the wooden door of the Defense Against the Dark Arts office.

Professor Broad opened the door and motioned Albert to go inside and talk.

"You're here! You're more patient than I thought. What would you like to drink, milk tea?" Professor Broad motioned for Albert to sit down. The Defense Against the Dark Arts office had changed a lot.

"Mr. Mog said someone will explain it to us." Albert sat down opposite Professor Broad, stirred the milk tea with a spoon, and said to Professor Broad with his eyes.

"Yes. But it's not appropriate here." Professor Broad made a hushing gesture and took out a bag of Galleons from his pocket and placed it in front of Albert.

"Your trophy."

"More."

"The extra 100 Galleons are given to you by Gerber. Of course, Isobel also has one. He is very sorry about that." Professor Broad pushed the Galleons in front of Albert, "Take them!"

"Did you know this from the beginning?" Albert did not refuse and put the purse into the deformed lizard's bag.

"I have a feeling!" Professor Brod said, "Mogg has been staying in Hogsmeade temporarily."

"Mr. Mog is late." Albert reminded.

"He just went there to make sure you were alive." Professor Brode said calmly, "You know, there's something called a time converter. If necessary, Gerber will go back in time and solve the source of the problem directly. So, nothing will happen to you."

"How rude." Albert raised his eyebrows and said, "I thought that some things would be difficult to completely reverse even with a time converter, and would drive people crazy instead."

"Of course not one person, but a group of people can." Professor Brod interrupted: "Well, we'd better not continue this topic. I brought you something that you will definitely be interested in."

As he spoke, Professor Brod placed a wooden box on the table, which contained a heavy rusty metal book.

"Book of Bronze?" Albert asked curiously.

"Yes, this is the Bronze Book in Ravenclaw's Chamber of Secrets." Professor Broad nodded in acknowledgement.

"You want me to put it back?"

"right."

"Why don't you let Mr. Mogg put it back?" Albert asked, running his hand over the lines on the book. "I think he has the ability to do that."

"Who knows?" Professor Broad obviously didn't want to say.

"Can I look through it?" Albert asked again.

"Of course you can." Professor Brod said, "It records the use of ancient rune magic. Mog has already read it, and maybe you can understand it. However, I suggest you put it back to its original place and read it slowly."

"This thing is so bulky." Albert's eyes fell on the wooden box.

"I know you still have a lot of doubts, but now is not a good time to talk about them. After the holiday, you can stay at my place for a few days, and I will slowly tell you about these things."

"Can I give up? I'll give the chance to Isobel." Albert suddenly said.

"Don't jump to conclusions. Besides, you are still in the investigation stage." Professor Broad winked at Albert and said, "We will find a way to make you agree. I promise."

"Wildsmith's legacy?"

"You will know when the time comes, and you will definitely be surprised." Professor Broad showed a meaningful smile, "I was also shocked at the time."

"Do you think I will be qualified?" Albert raised his eyebrows.

Professor Broad just smiled and didn't prepare to answer Albert's question.
