"Where did you get your midnight snack?"
Albert, who had just finished a shower and was wearing gray pajamas, walked into the dormitory and saw several roommates sitting around the table, playing wizard cards and eating freshly baked pies on plates.
"The house-elf sent it."
George's words were slurred from his mouth full of food.
Albert looked at the plate and saw a hand reaching out to take the last piece of pie. He immediately stepped forward and slapped the hand.
A crisp sound echoed in the room.
pain!
Lee Jordan looked up at Albert with a resentful look on his face, rubbing the back of his hand which was swollen and red from being slapped.
"You didn't even leave the last piece for me!" Albert picked up the last pie and took a bite. The meat filling was still warm and tasted good.
"You don't have to be so cruel!"
"I lost control of my strength. Besides, if I don't leave you a single piece, who else should I hit?" Albert ate his pie, turned his head and looked at the Weasley brothers who were laughing beside him, and asked, "How many sets of wizard cards have you got?"
"We can only do it one at a time at the moment, and the progress is very slow. We spent a lot of time and only made one for ourselves." George shrugged helplessly, indicating that he had tried his best.
"How on earth do you get the house-elf to bring you midnight snacks?" Fred brought up another topic that interested him even more.
“Personal charm.”
Albert ate the last bite of pie and took his handkerchief from the side to wipe the corners of his mouth.
The three of them looked at each other, totally unconvinced by Albert's lies.
Albert didn't care whether they believed it or not. He looked around but couldn't see his cat, so he asked, "Where's my Tom?"
"Tom? Oh, you mean the cat!" Fred raised his hand and pointed at the door and said, "It just ran out and should be running around in the Gryffindor common room."
"Really? It's so late and you're still running around." Albert muttered.
"You can't cage a cat."
"I didn't say to shut it down."
Albert took out the compass from his leather bag, checked the direction, and went down the stairs to the common room.
The common room was very dim at this moment, with some embers flickering in the fireplace.
"Tom."
Albert called his cat's name softly, but there was no response. He looked at the compass in his hand, then looked in that direction, preparing to take out his wand and use the Flying Spell to call his cat back, when he saw a furry black shadow in the corner suddenly pounce on him.
"It's time to go back to bed!" Albert bent down and picked up the fat cat. When the light from the tip of the wand inadvertently passed through the common room, Albert's eye fell on the chair closest to the entrance of the common room.
Albert noticed that there was a person sitting over there, so he walked over with the cat in his arms. It was a little girl in a pink nightgown.
"Don't sleep here anymore. You might catch a cold, Miss Granger."
Hermione heard the noise, looked up in confusion, and looked a little flustered at Albert.
Albert looked at the little girl in front of him. This was the first time he took a close look at the legendary Hermione Granger. She was very ordinary, no different from the girl next door.
"You didn't have a fight with your roommate, did you?"
"No!" said Hermione dryly.
"Then go back and rest!" Albert glanced at the oil lamp beside him and said calmly, "Don't hide here and scare people, or are you going out for a night walk?"
"No."
Hermione smelled the faint scent of bath gel on Albert and felt a little embarrassed. Fortunately, the darkness around her concealed the change on the girl's face. She hesitated for a moment, but still told Albert that she had overheard that Harry and Ron were preparing to duel with Malfoy.
"This is very consistent with the character of Gryffindor." Albert pulled a chair and sat down next to Hermione. He put Tom on his knees and stroked his fur. "So, you want to stop them."
"Yes, wandering around the school at night, if they are caught, Gryffindor will lose many points. And I think they will definitely be caught by Filch. I heard that the administrator knows all the secret passages in the school."
"I dare say they will definitely tell you: This matter has nothing to do with you." Albert looked at the change in the girl's expression, nodded, and said, "Don't take it too seriously. Gryffindor students are all like this. They never take school rules seriously."
Hermione opened her mouth and stared blankly at the boy in front of her who was smiling faintly. Finally, she asked in confusion: "Shouldn't we stop them?"
"Stop? It's hard to stop them unless you are Professor McGonagall, but you are obviously not." Albert shook his head and said, "Don't expect to convince anyone with words. It's too difficult, especially when they insist on doing so."
Hermione was about to say something, but was interrupted by Albert raising his hand.
"I know what you want to say." Albert continued, "This so-called duel should be a trap. According to Slytherin's style, they will probably tell Filch about it in advance and let the administrator catch them. Then Gryffindor will be deducted points, and Harry and Ron will be put in detention."
"However, doing things without thinking is the style of Gryffindor. Sometimes, they will never learn their lessons unless they suffer a little loss." Albert said calmly, "Don't pay too much attention to those rules and regulations. No one in Gryffindor really cares about grades, otherwise they will consciously add points for the house, but most students don't think that way."
"Is this the style of Gryffindor House?" Hermione looked up at Albert and asked seriously, "What about you? I heard that you have been giving Gryffindor extra points!"
"That's just a side benefit. If it can add points, that would be great. If not, forget it."
"You don't look like a Gryffindor to me at all," Hermione whispered. "I'm sure the Sorting Hat asked you if you were going to Ravenclaw!"
"Everyone says so. Many people think I should go to Ravenclaw College." Albert didn't care about it at all. "But, for me, Gryffindor is better. I have familiar friends here."
"So what do you think I should do?" Hermione asked hesitantly.
"Go back to sleep, or keep trying to stop Harry and Ron here." Albert stood up and said to Hermione, "To be honest, you may not be suitable for staying in Gryffindor College. If you have time, you can try to join the Wizard Card Club. Maybe you can make some friends. The main purpose of the game is to create happy times."
Hermione opened her mouth, looked at Albert's departing back, and finally said nothing.
Friend
She doesn't have one of her own!
Albert obviously saw it too, so he said that.
