Chapter 40: Transfiguration

Views:

In the afternoon, Gryffindor freshmen still have Transfiguration classes with Ravenclaw.

Before the first class, Professor McGonagall gave everyone a stern look:

Transfiguration is the most complex and dangerous spell you will learn at Hogwarts. If anyone dares to misbehave in my class, I will ask him to leave and never allow him to come to class again.

This threatening speech, coupled with Professor McGonagall's stern expression, immediately intimidated the group of eleven-year-old students, and the classroom instantly became dead silent.

In fact, Professor McGonagall's teaching method is similar to Professor Flitwick's. She turns the desk into a pig and then changes it back again.

This scene quickly attracted everyone's attention, and they all wanted to start learning Transfiguration right away.

Gryffindor students who had just taken the Charms class understood that it would take a long time to turn furniture into animals.

Sure enough, after class, Professor McGonagall began to explain the theory of transfiguration, and they quickly wrote down a lot of complicated notes.

Albert opened his skill list and found Transformation Theory in it. He spent 98 experience points to upgrade Transformation Theory to level 1.

From the very beginning, he had been staring at the contents of the "Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration", pretending that he was reading the book carefully, but in fact he was looking up the extra knowledge of transformation theory in his head.

After the theoretical explanation, Professor McGonagall began to give each of them a match and asked them to try to turn the match into a needle.

"Mr. Anderson?" Professor McGonagall stared at the boy in a daze and frowned slightly. She still remembered the boy. After all, anyone who saw someone tear down the door of their office would remember it vividly, not to mention that it had only been a short time.

"Um. Professor, is there something wrong?" Albert came back to his senses immediately, looked at Professor McGonagall with a confused look on his face and asked.

"Everyone is practicing Transfiguration, why don't you give it a try?" Professor McGonagall looked past Albert and looked at Fred next to her. "Mr. Weasley, if I were you, I would concentrate before chanting the spell."

Fred looked innocent, and Professor McGonagall standing next to him put a lot of pressure on him.

Albert glanced at Fred and began to lie with his eyes open, "I just think there are some important things I should remember before waving my wand."

However, Professor McGonagall did not intend to leave immediately. Instead, she retracted her gaze and continued to stare at Albert, ready to watch him cast the spell.

"Ahem!" Albert coughed lightly, raised his wand and pointed it at the match on the table, chanting the spell: "vera verto."

The match quickly changed and turned into a thin silver needle.

"Very good, everyone look, Mr. Anderson succeeded," Professor McGonagall showed the whole class the match turning into a silver needle, and gave Albert a rare smile. Before leaving, she did not forget to give Gryffindor five points.

"I knew this wouldn't be a problem for you." Fred took the silver needle, looked at it, and asked, "How did you do it? Do you have any tricks?"

Several students nearby pricked up their ears and eavesdropped, as if they wanted to know the secret of Albert's immediate success.

Albert whispered, "Didn't Professor McGonagall ask us to take notes before? That's the trick."

A group of people immediately began to flip through the books, looking for the notes they had just written down.

"Do you think I will believe it?" Fred stared at Albert with contempt, obviously not believing these nonsense.

However, he did not ask any more questions because Professor McGonagall looked over here again.

A few minutes later, Professor McGonagall announced again: "Look, Miss MacDougal's matches have changed, too."

"Transfiguration is so difficult, how did you succeed in one go?" Katrina couldn't help asking. For some reason, she sat next to Albert again.

"Successful on the first sexual intercourse? Ahem, actually I had practiced before, so I succeeded." Albert coughed lightly. He didn't have his own secret to success. It was better for him not to be regarded as a genius or something.

"It's normal to fail. I can't even remember how many times I failed before I successfully turned the match into a needle."

"However, the precautions that Professor McGonagall asked us to remember are also the key to success." The last sentence was said to the people who were eavesdropping nearby.

Katrina could naturally guess it. After all, no one can succeed in one go. Her matches could change, so naturally she had practiced transfiguration before.

The rest of the Transfiguration class was spent practicing how to turn matches into needles, while Professor McGonagall walked around the classroom, instructing other students.

However, for Albert, who had successfully turned the match into a needle, the remaining time was really boring, so he found something to do so as not to be caught by Professor McGonagall for slacking off.

"Return to original form!"

The silver needle turns back into a match. Professor McGonagall has already taught this spell, and it is also recorded in the book. Incomplete transformations are difficult to correct, and saying "Restore original form!" will restore the object or creature to its original state.

Albert supported his chin with one hand and held the magic wand in the other, and began to transform the matches on the table into all kinds of strange things. The spell was actually vera verto, but the closer the object was to the shape of the original object, the easier it was to transform.

After the transformation, it is restored again to increase the experience of returning to the original form.

"How did you do that?" Fred next to him was stunned.

This guy's transformation skills are far better than theirs.

"How did you do it? That's it!" Albert raised his wand and the button turned into a toy mouse.

"Like Professor McGonagall said, be clean and precise when waving your wand, think clearly about what you want to transform into before you Transfiguration, and be clear and accurate when you chant the spell."

The twins looked at each other. Although Albert said so, they also tried it, but before the end of get out of class, they still failed to make the match change.

In fact, except for Albert's success with Katrina, the others' matches remained the same.

This was a matter of course in Albert's eyes.

After all, as someone who has experienced it, he knows the difficulty of transfiguration very well. If he doesn't practice hard for a few days, he wants to complete the transformation successfully. Do he think his talent for transfiguration is sky-high

The first time you make an object change is the most difficult, but as long as you succeed the first time, subsequent practice will become much easier.

The homework for Transfiguration is similar to that for Charms, which is to practice turning matches into needles.

But it is unknown how many students will have the patience to practice.

But judging from the content of the "Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration", the only kind of transformation magic that first-year students learn is Transfiguration, and the only difference is the size and type of the objects to be transformed.
