Daily Life at Hogwarts

Chapter 44: Evening...self-study?

Views:

In the evening, during dinner time, Charlie sat next to Albert and told him some rules about Quidditch games while eating. He also suggested that Albert should read "The Origins of Quidditch" when he has time.

"How long is the longest game at Hogwarts?" Albert asked curiously. If the Quidditch game is over only after the Golden Snitch is caught, what if the Golden Snitch is lost

"It is said that it takes three days." Charlie thought for a moment and said, "In the end, if they really can't find the Golden Snitch, they will end the game early, and the side with more points will win the game."

While a few people were chatting about Quidditch, a sudden female voice interrupted their conversation.

"Albert, Professor McGonagall asked me to give it to you." Angelina handed Albert a folded piece of parchment.

"Thank you, Angelina." Albert took the parchment, opened it and found that it read:

Thursday evening at 7:00, 6th floor of the castle, classroom 21, remember Gamp's basic law of transformation.

"What is this?" Fred, who was eating a potato with its skin on, dropped his fork and leaned forward.

"Professor McGonagall's notice on the time and place of the next Transfiguration Club." Albert didn't intend to hide it and directly handed the parchment to Fred.

The twins and Li Jordan immediately rushed to read the contents of the parchment.

"Transfiguration Club, what is that?" Charlie suddenly stopped talking and looked at Albert in confusion.

"It's a club formed by Professor McGonagall," Albert explained.

"What does it mean to remember Gamp's basic law of transformation?" George asked a little puzzled.

"It's probably the password to enter the classroom." Albert thought for a moment and gave his guess.

"I'm sorry Charlie, if Quidditch practice conflicts with Transfiguration Club schedule, I'm afraid I'll have to put Transfiguration Club first."

"Oh, I almost forgot, this happened this afternoon." Li Qiaodan also remembered it. The twins next to him looked at each other in bewilderment, they also knew about it.

All four of them could see that Charlie wanted to train Albert to be a pursuer or a seeker, but now it was over before it even began.

Little did they know that Albert had no intention of joining the Quidditch team. For him, flying on a broomstick was a kind of enjoyment, and Quidditch games might be interesting, but Albert did not want to undergo rigorous Quidditch training, let alone become a Quidditch player.

As for joining a Quidditch team after graduation, forget it!

Charlie felt a little stunned. Where was the secret weapon

How could it slip away without a sound before I could even warm it up in my hand? Charlie decided to find out what happened first.

"Charlie is determined to win another Quidditch trophy for Gryffindor before he leaves." Fred looked at Charlie's departing back and shook his head.

After finishing their meal, the four returned to the Gryffindor lounge, which was packed with people. The noisy sound made Albert feel like his head was about to explode.

Maybe it's because the school has just started, and the little Gryffindor lions haven't recovered from the summer vacation yet. If they are allowed to make trouble for a few more days and have a lot of homework to do, they will have neither the mind nor the energy to play here.

"Let's go to the auditorium!" Albert thought about it and decided to take a book to the auditorium to read, and practice magic or something while he had time.

There were fewer people in the auditorium, and Albert found a quiet place for himself.

When Shanna, who was sitting at the entrance of the auditorium, noticed Albert, she walked up to him and began to practice the glow spell.

After seeing that the other party had tried several times but failed to cast the Light Spell, Albert reminded him, "You should have confidence in yourself and concentrate. When casting the spell, imagine that your wand will glow."

Shanna's face turned slightly red, but she still failed.

"Your mindset is not right. This will affect the success rate of your spell. If you keep thinking that you are not good enough, your chances of failure will increase by at least three levels." Albert pointed to the small box next to him and said, "Would you like one? Don't worry, these are chocolate beans."

"How did you know that?" Zannah asked as she ate a few chocolate chips. "I mean, how do you know that this will help you cast a spell successfully?"

"Do you believe my guess?" Albert said with a smile.

"No."

"Well, actually, it's a conclusion drawn from too many Transfiguration failures." Albert did not lie. It should be said that half of what he said was true. "The emotions of wizards will affect their spells."

"Let me try again." Shannah felt the chocolate beans in her mouth were a little sweet. She took a deep breath and tried a few more times. Finally, she succeeded in lighting her wand. Her originally tense little face also showed an excited smile.

However, the light on Shanna's wand soon went out again.

"You need to concentrate and practice more, and you will definitely succeed." Albert comforted him.

"I thought you were going to the library." Li Jordan sat down next to Albert, looked at Shanna who was practicing spells suspiciously and asked, "I didn't disturb you, did I?"

"What about the two of them?"

"I don't know." Seeing Sana practicing the Glowing Charm, George also took out his wand to practice. His Glowing Charm was still at a half-baked level.

"What's going on with me?"

"Maybe you're not concentrating enough!"

"What do you mean by 'probably'?" Li Jordan was a little depressed, but he still started to practice attentively. Although there was still time before the next spell class, it was better to master the spell as soon as possible.

"How can this be considered a successful mastery?"

"You are no longer concentrating on your wand, but you can still keep it glowing. I think that should be considered a success!" Albert stopped flipping through the book, thought for a moment, and replied.

Around eight o'clock, Li Jordan's light magic is not easy to extinguish.

Of course, that was when he focused his attention on the wand. Although Shanna's progress was a little slower, the effect was still very good.

It turns out that most spells aren't too difficult to master if you practice hard enough.

"Where have you been?"

At about half past eight, the twins finally appeared in the auditorium, both of them looked unhappy.

"Filch just took most of our dungbombs," said Fred through gritted teeth.

"What's going on?" Albert looked at the two men suspiciously and asked, "You weren't caught while throwing the dung bomb!"

Here's what happened... George, who was relatively calm, recounted what happened in general.

Not long ago, the two were pranked by Peeves, and then they went back to the dormitory to get dung bombs to hit Peeves in the face. However, before they were about to take action, they were caught by Filch and most of the dung bombs were confiscated.

Filch said it was a prohibited item and confiscated the dung bomb they were preparing to use against Peeves.

The twins' noses were almost crooked from anger.

After listening to the two people's stories, Albert was speechless.

What kind of crap is this!
