After being reminded by Albert, Fred, George and Lee Jordan gave up the idea of leaking what happened in the dungeon.
However, this interesting adventure still made them very excited.
The four had originally planned to sneak into Hogsmeade to have a good time on Easter Day, but just after breakfast, Wood cruelly announced to them that they would have Quidditch training later.
"Wood doesn't need to review?" Lee Jordan looked at Fred and George who were dragged away by Wood with sympathy and asked in confusion.
The fifth grade students are working hard to review their lessons in preparation for the upcoming exams.
"Wood plans to join the Quidditch team after graduation. It is more important to train his skills than to get good test scores," Albert answered absentmindedly.
He was surprised that he had not received a letter from Hagrid. Logically, Hagrid should have got the dragon egg!
Could it be that something unexpected happened
"I'm going to go look for Hagrid. Wanna come with me?"
Albert asked Lee Jordan if he wanted to go with him to the gamekeeper's cottage to have tea with Hagrid.
After Lee Jordan said that he was going to the library with Sana to do homework, Albert went to find Hagrid by himself.
A few minutes later, Albert raised his hand and knocked on the wooden door of the game guard's cabin. There was a sound of scratching on the door, but there seemed to be no one inside
"Hagrid, are you in there?" Albert knocked on the door again, but Hagrid didn't open it.
He walked around the cabin and found that the windows of the room were closed.
In desperation, Albert could only take out his wand and open the door himself.
Although it was very rude to do so, Albert still opened the door and went in himself in order to make sure whether Hagrid had got the dragon egg.
As soon as the wooden door was opened, Yaya rushed towards Albert, stood up and tried to lick his face. After being stopped by Albert, she circled around him.
Hagrid was still sleeping, probably because he was drunk last night.
No wonder I didn’t write to myself.
The room was filled with a strong sour smell. Albert covered his mouth and nose with his hands, raised his wand and waved it gently, opening all the windows in the room and sweeping away the strange smell.
As Albert walked towards the bed, he noticed that Hagrid was holding a basket with an egg in it.
"It looks like Hagrid has successfully gotten the dragon egg!"
When Albert saw the egg, he couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief and shouted to Hagrid who was still sleeping soundly on the bed: "Hagrid, if you don't get up, the dragon egg will be stolen."
The next moment, Hagrid suddenly woke up from his sleep, checked his basket in panic, and when he saw the dragon eggs were still there, he couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief and looked angrily at the guy who had just scared him.
"Awake?" Albert greeted Hagrid with a smile.
"Why are you here?" Hagrid covered a yawn with his hand and looked at Albert unhappily. He was really scared just now.
"Of course, I came to see if my prediction is accurate." Albert stretched out his hand to scratch Yaya's ear, his eyes fell on the dragon eggs in the basket, a faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, and he said to himself: "It seems that my prediction is still quite accurate."
"Yes, it's really accurate. I played cards with a peddler and won this dragon egg from him." Hagrid excitedly told Albert what happened last night.
"Congratulations, you finally got what you wanted." Albert asked, "What are you going to do next? Are you going to hatch the dragon?"
"Yes, I want to hatch it." Hagrid stroked the dragon egg in his hand gently, as if he were stroking a treasure. "I've even thought of a name for it. I'm going to call it Norbert.
"Well, that's a good name." Albert scratched Yaya's chin, looked up at Hagrid, and kindly reminded him, "You need to hatch it first. Before that, you need to figure out what kind of dragon's egg this is. Then find out what kind of food you need to feed it when it's young. Make sure the little dragon doesn't die from your improper care when it's just born. Newborns are usually very fragile, even a dragon is no exception."
"Albert, help me." Hagrid paused in stroking the dragon eggs and asked Albert for help. He also realized that taking care of a dragon was not easy.
At least, Hagrid had no experience with dragons.
"You need to go to the library to find a way to raise a dragon." Albert glanced at the new task that appeared on the task panel: The Birth of Norbert
Your good friend Hagrid got a dragon egg, but he has no experience in hatching and caring for dragons. Now he asks you for help. As a friend, you may be able to help him hatch the dragon egg.
Reward: 1000 experience points, Hagrid's favorability +10.
Although the mission reward did not give much experience, Albert was quite satisfied with it.
At least, it's much better than the leaker mission not long ago, and it's easier to complete.
After Hagrid finished speaking, Albert took out a piece of parchment that he had prepared long ago from his pocket and handed it to Hagrid. Inside was a book about raising dragons that Albert had found in the library.
"Here you go, go borrow the book from the library. You are an expert in raising these dangerous magical creatures, so the help I can provide you is limited."
Hagrid was also stunned. He took the parchment and looked at it. There were four books written on it:
"European Dragon Species", "From Hatching Eggs to Nirvana", "A Guide to Dragon Keeping", "Dragon Keeping for Fun and Profit".
“Of course, these books may be a little outdated, but the content should still be useful.”
"Thank you, I knew you were the most reliable." Hagrid wanted to go forward and give Albert a hug, but the other party cleverly dodged him.
Albert didn't want to be hugged by the smelly Hagrid.
"But I need to warn you in advance, Hagrid." Albert sat back in his chair, stared into Hagrid's eyes and said, "Don't blame me for speaking harshly."
"What's up?"
"No matter what kind of dragon you raise, it may grow two or three times its size in just a week. Within a month, you will hardly be able to hide it from others." Albert noticed Hagrid's evasive gaze, sighed and said, "I told you this a long time ago. I don't think you want to hear it, but I still need to tell you. The time you take care of Norbert will not be too long. After that, you will need to ask the headmaster for help to send the dragon away."
Hagrid opened his mouth. He knew that Albert was right, but he was unwilling to accept this fact.
"As for how long you take care of Norbert, it all depends on your level of confidentiality. The more people know about this, the harder it will be to keep the dragon-raising secret." Albert reminded again: "The best way is to hatch the dragon eggs quietly and send the raised dragon away. This way you won't cause trouble for the principal. You have to be mentally prepared."
After hearing what Albert said, Hagrid actually cried like a little child.
Albert looked at the sad Hagrid and shook his head. He felt like he had become a bad guy.
Just then, an owl flew in from the window, landed on the table in front of Albert, and handed him a letter.
"Your letter?" Hagrid also noticed the owl.
"Yes, my letter."
Albert discovered that the letter was written by Mr. Broad, asking him to be sure to attend the party tonight, and said that he had contacted Professor McGonagall and could use her fireplace to reach the destination.
