"Isobel, can I come in?"
After a brief knock on the door, Katrina's voice sounded from outside the room.
"Hold on."
Isobel raised her finger and lightly touched the two-way mirror, then stood up and walked to the door, opening it to let her sister into the room.
Before Katrina went to Hogwarts School, she often ran to her room and asked her to tell her stories or teach her some simple magic.
However, since going to school, the relationship between the two seems to have become distant.
Katrina has finally grown up and no longer needs to rely on her sister for everything.
Isobel looked at her sister and thought with relief.
"Who were you talking to just now?" Katrina asked confusedly.
"What's the matter?" Isobel changed the subject. "Are you still worried about the results of the divination test?"
Katrina looked around the furnishings in the room, her eyes sweeping across the desk. Several years had passed, and apart from having more books, there was almost no change here.
"Do you think you can get excellent grades in the O.W.Ls divination exams?" Katrina did not delve into the previous question, but directly asked about the divination exam results.
In the divination exam last semester, Katrina only got a good grade in the end.
"You want to ask me if I can tell fortunes?"
Isobel looked her sister in the eye and answered the question calmly, "Unfortunately, I am not good at divination, and I cannot predict the future with a crystal ball. Divination requires talent, and I obviously don't have it."
"But why are you so sure that you can get high scores in the O.W.Ls Divination exams?" Katrina raised her doubts again.
To be honest, she really disliked Professor Trelawney and thought she was a liar. Although she had worked very hard in this area, she gained far less than in other subjects.
"Professor Trelawney is not a liar." Isobel seemed to see through her sister's thoughts and explained kindly,
She is the descendant of the famous fortune teller Cassandra Trelawney. If she didn't have real ability, she probably wouldn't be able to stay as a professor of Divination at Hogwarts for long."
"Moreover, prophecy requires the support of talent."
"I didn't tell Professor Trelawney what she expected to see, and she only gave me a good grade in the end?" Katrina knew very well what the crystal ball divination test was like.
"Katrina, there is one thing you need to understand. In fact, the divination we have learned is only the most basic knowledge. Even the advanced divination class cannot really teach you how to predict the future." Isobel smoothed Katrina's frizzy hair like stroking a kitten. "Crystal ball divination, tea leaf interpretation, palmistry (checking the life line and wisdom line) are the contents of the O.W.Ls divination exam."
"Every year's exam has these three items. Do you know why?"
Katrina shook her head. How could she possibly know the reason
"They never expected to train excellent fortune tellers through divination classes. Prediction requires talent." Isobel repeated this sentence again: "Talented wizards will naturally master the knowledge of divination quickly after taking divination classes, and use it as a basis to learn to master their own prediction abilities. Wizards without the talent for prediction can only figure out the objects they see and give the so-called standard answers based on the knowledge given in the book."
"The result is not important. Even if you can get excellent grades in this course, without the gift of prophecy, you cannot become a good fortune teller. In the end, you will only be regarded as a liar by people."
"What's the point of this course?" Katrina was even more confused.
"It's easier to tell who can tell fortunes." Isobel thought for a moment and added, "It will allow your three years of hard work to have a perfect ending, rather than being completely denied."
Katrina fell into an even longer silence. According to Isobel, talent is very important to become a fortune teller, even more important than hard work.
Well, didn’t Professor Trelawney give her the impression of being a fortune teller with insufficient talent
He is indeed a liar.
"Can Albert really tell fortunes? You should know what I mean!"
In fact, Katrina didn't really want to mention this name in front of Isobel. She always felt embarrassed every time she mentioned it.
"He will." Isobel nodded. "In fact, several of his predictions have come true."
"He told you?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Nothing." Katrina said, "That guy always likes to be mysterious."
"Mysterious boys are more attractive, aren't they?" Isobel said.
"When did you start dating?" Katrina asked dryly.
"It was around the beginning of last semester!" Isobel winked and said playfully, "I confessed to him first."
"This is impossible, you're so good." Katrina was stunned and stuttered a little.
"He's better than me." Isobel didn't tease her sister and said with a smile, "It really doesn't matter who confessed first. As long as you can get the result you want, it's fine."
"Did you really confess first?" Katrina was still struggling with this question.
"I just gave a little hint."
"What does it feel like to be in love?" the girl asked curiously. She had seen her friends fall in love and would occasionally get together with them to discuss those things.
"Feel?"
Isobel seemed to be choosing her words: "Obsession."
"obsessed?"
"I'm afraid you'll need to wait until you have someone you like before you can understand." Isobel said with a smile, "Do you already have someone you like?"
"No." Katrina glanced at Isobel secretly and quickly changed the subject: "I heard from a friend that when people are in love, they always send letters to each other every day."
"This is normal," Isobel joked. "However, it's a bit difficult for Albert. He receives and sends a lot of letters every month. When we were in school, we mostly communicated using communication bookmarks."
Katrina was a little dazed. She felt that Albert might have made the communication bookmark in order to communicate with Isobel smoothly.
“I feel like I’ve fallen out of love.”
Katrina rested her head on Isobel's shoulder and whispered softly.
"You're not in love, so how can you be heartbroken?" Isobel touched her sister's hair and comforted her softly.
"I have never won against you since we were little." Katrina muttered softly, "Just once is enough for the truth to win."
Looking at Katrina who left in a trance, Isobel couldn't help but shook her head, went back to the two-way mirror, and whispered Albert's name in the mirror.
