“Finally back!”
On a hot summer day, Albert appeared on Tibe Avenue dragging a suitcase. He looked up at the residents of No. 19 and suddenly felt how good it was to be home.
After returning to England using the portkey, he retrieved his wand and other magical items from Mr. Budd Brod, declined his invitation to dinner, and hurriedly took a ride home.
However, Albert never expected that he would be turned away when he returned home.
No one knew where the other people in the house had gone. Albert, who didn't have a key, was stunned for a while when facing the iron door that blocked him.
Then, he took out a lock picking tool from the deformed lizard skin bag and pried open the lock of his own door.
Prying open your own door is definitely a very novel experience.
Albert threw the suitcase in the corridor, walked straight into the kitchen, took a bottle of soda from the refrigerator, and took a big gulp.
When I returned to the living room to turn on the air conditioner, I found a pressed note under the remote control:
Albert, we are going to visit your grandfather Luke for a few days, and we are also taking Tom and Sheila with us. If you come back from abroad and we are not home yet, remember to eat on time and call us if you have any questions. - Daisy.
“Really!”
Albert turned on the air conditioner, lay on the sofa to enjoy the fresh air, and prepared to take a nap, but he felt as if something was wrong.
The door is locked, what's the point of leaving a note
so…
Albert walked to the yard, turned over a stone, and took out a key from the bottom of the processed stone.
"Forget it, it must be the heat that made me faint." Albert reached out and patted his head. He felt that he needed to lie down and rest for a while.
Using a portkey is not exactly comfortable.
When Albert woke up from the sofa, it was already dark. He rummaged through the refrigerator and finally had to ride his bike to a nearby supermarket to buy spaghetti.
Well, it’s actually what’s called a square noodle.
This thing is not popular in the UK and can only be found gathering dust in the corner of the supermarket.
As for why I don’t eat instant noodles, I can only say that British instant noodles are really unbearable to look at.
Albert made himself a plate of spaghetti with eggs and sausage and toasted some bread crumbs for an after-dinner snack.
After dinner, I called Herb directly and they would not be back until tomorrow.
Nia was on the other end of the phone, asking Albert if he had brought her any local specialties.
American wizard snacks are, well, not that different from Muggle snacks.
Although we may not like to admit it, the life of wizards in America is much closer to that of Muggles.
Of course, American wizards also sell some specialty products, but the Magical Congress of the United States strictly controls this, so their wizard street is not as lively as Diagon Alley in the UK.
In order to bring gifts to his family and girlfriend, he specially asked Catherine to take him to Wizard Street in the United States, which is also called the American Wizard Secret Exchange.
The American Wizarding Secret Exchange is located at an underground entrance deep in a narrow alley in New York. The place has been widened by magic. It is said that there are several secret entrances, all of which are cast with spells to expel No-Maj.
Before entering, you need to get confirmation from the graffiti portrait at the entrance before you are allowed to enter Wizard Street.
It has to be said that American wizards’ defenses against No-Maj are even stricter than prison guards against prisoners escaping.
After simply cleaning up the dishes, Albert sat on the sofa and tried to get in touch with Isobel, whom he hadn't spoken to for several days.
Unfortunately, Isobel did not respond to him immediately.
After waiting for a long time, Albert had no choice but to put away the two-way mirror, take out Catherine's mirror, and try to get in touch with the other party.
Well, he was just bored and wanted to talk to someone.
Before long, Catherine's pretty face appeared in the mirror.
"Good evening!"
Albert was a little surprised. He was just trying it, but he didn't expect that he could actually get in touch.
"night?"
On the other side of the mirror, Catherine looked out the window with a puzzled tone.
"Oh, I almost forgot, Britain is five hours ahead of the United States!" Albert casually found a topic to chat with the other party, such as the possibility of making American mint into an ointment to treat skin rashes.
Catherine on the other side of the two-way mirror was stunned. She probably didn't expect Albert to talk to her about such a topic.
She was actually quite good at potions, and she quickly started mixing potions under Albert's explanation, and obtained an ointment for treating skin rashes.
"Is that it?"
Catherine looked at the finished product in front of her, still a little dazed.
Although she didn't know how effective it would be, the faint fragrance made her feel that this ointment should be effective.
Suddenly, Catherine wanted to collude with Albert and ask him to help her research a beauty potion that could maintain her youthful appearance.
Catherine is also a girl who loves beauty. She knows very well that she is now at the peak of her youth and beauty, but her beauty is destined to be short-lived. Perhaps, with Albert's talent, she may be able to achieve this.
If it succeeds, I believe many girls will go crazy because of it.
Of course, Albert didn’t know what the American girl was thinking, and after quickly ending the conversation, he took out Isobel’s two-way mirror.
"You're back from America. How's it going there?"
The girl, who had just come out of the bathroom and wiped her hair with a towel, sat down at the desk and looked at her boyfriend with a smile.
"Not very good. The magical society in the United States is different from other European countries." Albert gave Isobel a brief introduction to the situation of the American magical world.
"And Miss Catherine?"
"Miss Catherine?" Albert was stunned. He didn't understand why Isobel knew about Catherine.
"Are you talking about Nicholas' granddaughter?" Albert's mind was working quickly, and he asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"
"You don't know?" Isobel's expression became more and more strange.
"Know what?"
"Your gossip and scandal!"
As he spoke, Isobel took out a newspaper with a black and white photo on it. It was a photo taken secretly when he and Catherine went to Wizard Street to buy things. The angle was not very good, but the two people in the photo could be seen clearly.
"This photo! It must have been taken when I asked Catherine to take me to the American Wizard Street to buy souvenirs for my family." Albert showed a look of realization and shook his head with a wry smile. "Speaking of which, American reporters are really disgusting. I just refused their interview, but they really did everything to create topics!"
"I think you'd better deal with the interview with the Daily Prophet." Isobel suddenly reminded, "There are also rumors about you in France."
As she spoke, she took out another newspaper and found that the person on the other side of the two-way mirror was stunned.
Somehow the photo of Louise kissing him when they met had become his gossip.
“That’s not all.”
Isobel pulled out a recent copy of the Daily Prophet, which started talking about his liking for pretty girls older than himself.
“You know, this is just their way of attracting public attention.” Albert suddenly felt very tired.
"I know. I just want to remind you that the newspapers are almost making you look like a playboy who likes to have multiple relationships at the same time." Isobel couldn't help but cover her mouth and chuckle.
"Stop laughing, help me think of a solution." Albert slumped on the sofa and complained to his girlfriend on the other side of the mirror, "You definitely don't want others to say that your boyfriend is a playboy!"
"Who made you famous?" Isobel spread her hands helplessly, indicating that she could do nothing to help.
