Chapter 523: Knight Bus

"Where is Albert going?"

Early in the morning, after breakfast, Nia stood at the door holding the fat Tom cat, watching Albert disappear at the door.

Putting down her waving arms, Nia turned her head to look at her parents. She always felt that her family seemed to be hiding something from her.

"Someone invited him to be a guest. You know, your brother is a very capable person, and building some connections will be very helpful for his future." Daisy said gently.

Herb looked at his wife and nodded, this was indeed true.

However, this time Albert was not going to attend an academic gathering, but to have dinner at his girlfriend's house.

The night before, Albert finally confessed to them that he had a girlfriend.

At that time, Herb and Daisy both showed expressions of "as expected". In fact, they never worried that Albert couldn't find a girlfriend. After all, he was so outstanding and he even won the International Wizard Chess Championship. How could he not find a girlfriend

The two were more worried that they had nothing in common.

However, when they heard that the beautiful red-haired girl named Isobel was also a genius, the couple couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Geniuses must have something to talk about.

Sure enough, their son still reassures them as always.

But Nia seemed to be somewhat disgusted with these things, so the couple could only help to keep the matter secret for the time being.

It was all their fault that they had not fulfilled their responsibilities as parents in the past and had always let Albert take care of his sister, which led to Nia's strong dependence and admiration for Albert.

This situation will only gradually disappear when Nia grows up.

Albert walked to a remote street, took out his pocket watch from his pocket and checked the time. He raised his head and looked around, and soon saw a bus coming towards him.

He quickly raised his wand and waved it forward.

A few seconds later, a bright purple triple-decker bus stopped in front of him, narrowly missing a pedestrian on the roadside.

If it weren't for magic, the Knight Bus would have killed a lot of Muggles.

A young man in his twenties wearing a purple uniform stood at the door of the bus. He took out a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket and read out the following words in a fluent voice: "Welcome aboard the bus. This is an emergency bus for witches or wizards in distress. Just hold out your wand and get on the bus, and we can take you anywhere you want to go. My name is James Joyce, and I'm your conductor."

After that, he paused, looked up and down at Albert's clothes and face, and suddenly said, "You are Albert Anderson, right?"

"Can't Muggles see this Knight Bus?" Albert changed the subject. There were other Muggles nearby, but no one noticed the bus.

"If they don't listen and look carefully, they won't notice anything." Joyce looked at Albert's face with interest and suddenly said, "Mr. Anderson, the youngest international wizard chess champion, right? It's an honor to meet you."

"To be honest, it's been a long time since anyone in the UK has won the International Wizard Chess Championship!" After saying that, he even wanted to shake hands with Albert. "You must be the most important wizard I have ever received during my time as a ticket seller."

"You will definitely be able to receive wizards more important than me next summer." Albert began to take out Galleons from his pocket. "How much does it cost to go to Dingworth Village in Cornwall?"

"Nine Sickles," said Joyce. "Next summer I shall be done with it."

"Nine silver Sickles." Albert paid the money quickly and got into the car. Various chairs were randomly placed around the windows. Several unlucky wizards seemed to have been thrown to the ground as if the car had stopped suddenly. They were trying to get up while grumbling.

With a loud bang, the wizard who was just about to get up fell down again due to inertia.

"What a terrible feeling." If Albert hadn't grabbed the railing next to him in time, he would probably be no better off than them.

"Ern, this is Anderson. I didn't expect the champion to ride on our Knight Bus." Joyce knocked on the window and said to the driver with a smile, "This is our driver, Ern Plan."

"Oh, is that Anderson?" The driver turned his head and looked at Albert, paying no attention to the front at all.

"Be careful, we're about to get into a collision!" Albert warned loudly. Although he knew that a car accident was unlikely, he still felt that having a magic wand in his hand would give him a sense of security.

When the Knight Bus was about to hit the car in front, the car parked on the side of the road seemed to have grown a pair of legs and jumped away by itself. It felt a little incredible.

"Come with me." Joyce took him to an empty bed on the second floor, then gave him the ticket. "You'll need to take a detour to get to Dingworth Village, so I suggest you sit down and rest for a while. Of course, if you want to get off first, you'll need to give a tip."

"I hope there's no detour."

As he spoke, Albert took out a Galleon from his pocket.

"Oh, you are so generous, of course no problem." Joyce was a little surprised to see the Galleons that Albert stuffed into his hand, and said in surprise.

"But we have to get Mrs. Marsh down first."

Just then, there were sounds of vomiting and terrible splashing coming from the lower level, "She's very uncomfortable. It will probably take you ten minutes at most to reach your destination."

After he finished speaking, he heard another bang and almost fell to the ground. The scenery outside the window changed again.

"We've got Abergavenny. Next stop, the village of Dingworth in Cornwall."

The car rumbled along a narrow country road, and the trees on both sides jumped out of the way to make way for the two unlicensed buses, fearing that they would be ruthlessly crushed.

A witch got out of the car with the help of Joyce, she looked a little terrible.

Soon, the Knight Bus continued to move forward for a distance, and then there was another loud bang, and the scenery outside the window changed again.

"It was a terrible experience. I'd better not take this thing next time."

It's not a good experience to ride on a bus that keeps banging and jumping forward hundreds of miles at a time. Albert almost fell down five times and felt like vomiting. Riding the Knight Bus was worse than using a portkey.

The car suddenly drove onto a main road in the downtown area and then appeared on a bridge. Then he finally heard the shouting from Dingworth Village.

It's finally here.

Albert couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief and hurried out of the car. He didn't want to stay in the car any longer.

Soon, he heard a bang next to his ear, and the Knight Bus disappeared again.

"Something like Apparition?" Albert muttered. "No wonder, I hear bang bang sounds every time, but the distance it moves doesn't seem to be very long."

He was a little curious about how the wizards could make two cars Apparate together.

Albert withdrew his thoughts and looked around. This was a small town by the sea and there were no other Muggles around.

How can I find Isobel's home

Albert sent a message to Isobel and walked along the street. He soon found that his worries were unnecessary. He saw Isobel waving at him not far away.

But what's going on with the person next to her

Albert walked over quickly and saw a young man looking at him unkindly.

"Isobel, this is..." the man asked first.

"Albert Anderson, his boyfriend, who are you?" Albert looked at the other person with an oppressive gaze, and soon figured out what was going on. He muttered, "What a poor guy."

"You're a little quicker than I expected."

"This is the effect of money power." Albert smiled and took Isobel's hand and walked forward, leaving the Muggle youth staring blankly at the two of them leaving.

"You are really charming." Albert couldn't help but teased, "It's a pity that he is not the protagonist in the novel and can't pursue a beautiful heroine like you."
