Chapter 53: Astronomy class

Views:

The Astronomy Tower is the tallest tower in Hogwarts, and astronomy classes are held on top of this tower.

By the way, astronomy class is a rather strange type. There is no unified textbook for this class. Students only need to bring a telescope, a quill and parchment to class.

This astronomy tower is really tall, and the group of people who went to the top of the astronomy tower for class had a deep understanding of this.

Everyone was climbing up the spiral staircase, and no one knew which floor they were reaching. Everyone felt an inexplicable dizziness, and their breathing became a little rapid due to the exercise.

"Which floor are we on?" Alia asked, gasping for breath.

"The eighth floor." George raised his hand and pointed to a portrait of a drunken knight beside him, and introduced it to everyone with a smile, "Last time, when Fred and I came here, we saw this guy fall into the river after getting drunk and almost drowned."

"How could the person in the portrait be drowned?" Angelina couldn't help but complain.

"Who said no? Look carefully!" Fred winked at everyone mischievously, put his hands together to make a trumpet shape, and shouted at the portrait of the Drunken Knight: "Ah!"

Then, something that stunned everyone happened right in front of them. The drunken knight in the portrait seemed to be startled by the shout. He suddenly became panicked, began to run wildly, and finally fell into a river across the portrait.

The drunken knight splashed twice in the water and then sank into the river. The woman in the portrait next door hurriedly called for help and tried to pull him out of the river.

Everyone stared at this scene in amazement, their mouths wide open in shock.

Soon, everyone had to speed up and climb up, because Fred's strange cry annoyed several paintings nearby, and they all glared at Albert and his group with dissatisfaction.

"Almost there," George panted. After walking for an unknown amount of time, they finally reached the top of the tower.

"It's really a long journey, luckily we have enough time." Albert glanced at his pocket watch and it was almost time for class.

"By the way, if it rains tonight, we can't have the astronomy class today." George suddenly remembered that he couldn't see the sky when it rained.

"Who knows? I guess I'll leave everyone with a lot of homework!" Angelina reached out and pushed open the wooden door of the astronomy tower.

Professor Sinistra was already waiting for everyone at the top of the tower. She had just finished a class.

After nightfall, the wind was strong on the top of the Astronomy Tower, and everyone huddled in a corner to chat. The Hufflepuff students hadn't arrived yet, and they were going to be late.

"Maybe he got lost." George was a little gloating and hoped that Professor Sinistra would deduct points from the Hufflepuff students.

However, George was destined to be disappointed, as Cedric and other Hufflepuff students arrived at the top of the Astronomy Tower before class.

"This place is really hard to find. I almost got late." Cedric Diggory breathed quickly and greeted the people here with a smile.

"Okay, come here, class is about to start." Professor Sinistra attracted all the freshmen over. Next to her was an object covered with canvas.

"I know you are unfamiliar with astronomy. Astronomy is to teach you this knowledge." As she said this, she pulled open the canvas next to her, revealing what was hidden underneath.

“This…” Albert saw what was under the canvas. It was a small solar system model housed in a round glass cover.

This model of the solar system is very beautiful. In the center is the burning sun, and around it are nine planets and their satellites, all suspended in a round glass ball, shining brightly in their respective positions.

"This is the solar system. We live here." Professor Sinistra pointed to the Earth and continued, "Your course this semester is to learn how to use a telescope to observe the starry sky and find the specific locations of the nine planets in the starry sky above our heads."

The students from wizarding families were obviously unfamiliar with celestial bodies, and Albert doubted whether they knew that the planet they lived on was called Earth.

Professor Sinistra held up his magic wand, pointed at the moving celestial bodies, and briefly introduced the movement of celestial bodies, the solar system they were in, and other simple astronomical knowledge. He also taught everyone how to draw star maps and mark the names and positions of the nine planets on the star maps.

To Albert, it was nothing.

However, for others, it is difficult to remember it in a short time.

"Wrong, this position is Mars, not Jupiter." Albert corrected Fred's mistake helplessly, and George next to him was not much better.

After everyone finished drawing the star map of the solar system, Professor Sinistra began to teach everyone how to find the location of the planet they needed in the galaxy above their heads.

The wizard's telescope is actually very effective, which may be related to magic. What you can see is clearer than that of an ordinary Muggle's astronomical telescope.

"Have you found the location of Mars?" Shanna squinted one eye and looked through Albert's telescope.

They had no idea which one was Mars, and for a freshman who had never used a telescope, adjusting the focus took a lot of time.

"I didn't find it." Albert was also quite helpless. In fact, he had already looked in the direction of Professor Sinistra's finger, but it was not easy to find the brightest star in the sea of stars.

Professor Sinistra, who was walking around, would occasionally look into the students' telescopes and correct some of their mistakes.

"If we rely solely on magic, is it really possible to travel into the universe?" This strange thought suddenly emerged in Albert's mind.

There probably is no way!

After all, the number of wizards in the Harry Potter world is very small, and a small number means that there are also few geniuses...

Perhaps the Department of Mysteries in the Ministry of Magic has some research on this, but it is just research after all...

After shaking off the thoughts in his head, Albert refocused his attention on the telescope and began to appreciate the starry sky through the telescope.

In the past, he had hardly ever seen the starry sky.

By the end of the get out of class, Albert had not found the nine planets in the solar system, but he did not care. The more important thing about this class was to let everyone understand some astronomical knowledge and become familiar with how to use a telescope. Professor Sinistra's homework was also very simple, which was to remember the approximate positions and names of the nine planets.

"It's almost curfew, go back quickly." Li Jordan reminded.

"I'm a little hungry, so I'm going to the kitchen to get something to eat." Albert took out his pocket watch and looked at the time. There were still more than twenty minutes left, which was enough time.

"Wait, we'll go with you." The twins quickly handed their backpacks to Li Jordan, "Don't worry, we will remember to bring you food back."

“You…” Li Qiaodan looked at the three people’s backs as they walked away, his whole body shaking with anger, “You three… bastards, wait for me, don’t leave me alone!”
