Friday is a critical day for Albert.
The trajectory of the moving staircase and some passages in the castle will change today. In order to avoid getting lost on the way to the restaurant, they decided to go to the restaurant with other senior students.
"What classes do we have in the morning?" Lee Jordan put two sugar cubes in his cereal and asked George beside him.
"Two Potions classes in the morning," Albert said after finishing the sausages on his plate, "with the Slytherin students."
"I remember the Potions Professor was Snape." George said suddenly.
"Snape... Oh, the one that Albert wanted to take a picture of last time?" Lee Jordan remembered something. "By the way, is that okay with you?"
"What thing?" Albert looked at Li Jordan puzzledly.
"Didn't Snape say he was going to ask you questions?" Fred reminded.
"Oh, that matter you are talking about. There shouldn't be any problem." Albert flipped through the book last night and remembered most of the contents. As long as it wasn't too tricky, he didn't have to worry at all.
"I remember Snape seemed to be the head of Slytherin House."
"Yes!" George leaned forward and whispered, "Everyone says that he only favors his own students and never gives extra points to students from houses other than Slytherin."
"Be careful, he's watching you!" Albert whispered.
George was shocked by these words. He quickly retracted his head and looked around carefully, but he didn't find Snape. He knew he was deceived and stared at Albert in dissatisfaction, "You guy..."
"Why can you make such a joke so seriously?" Angelina walked over to them tiredly and sat down next to them. She looked at the laughing people and shook her head. "Today is really terrible. I got lost and almost couldn't find the restaurant."
Albert turned his head to Angelina and said, "I heard that you became a substitute player in Quidditch. Congratulations."
"Thank you." Angelina looked at Albert suspiciously. She also learned about Albert from Lee Jordan, and knew that Charlie intended to get Albert into the Quidditch team.
However, the other party didn't seem to care about his position and might be snatched away by him.
"Don't forget to bring the things you need for Potions class later. And we'd better not be late and give Snape a chance to cause trouble for us." After finishing breakfast, Albert took out another book, "One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi", from his backpack and began to read it.
The Potions classroom was located in a basement under the castle. They entered from another door in the hallway and walked down the stairs to the bottom of the castle, which was even colder than the main building above.
They walked into the classroom and found that the Slytherin students had already arrived.
The Potions classroom was not very big, but it could accommodate at least 20 students. The walls around the classroom were filled with glass jars filled with animal specimens, which would make the faint of heart feel creepy.
"It feels a bit like the corpse soaked in formalin in biology class." Albert sat next to Lee Jordan, looked at the glass jars around him, and couldn't help but complain.
As Albert looked around the classroom, he noticed a storage cabinet in the corner, which might contain various raw materials that students might use when making potions, or the book "Advanced Potion Making" belonging to the Half-Blood Prince.
Snape was sitting on the podium, looking down at the students entering the classroom. Behind him was a blackboard filled with information about the ingredients and preparation methods needed for the potion to treat scabies.
Albert looked up and met Snape's gaze. He smiled politely and then looked away. Those were a pair of cold, empty dark eyes that made Albert feel very uncomfortable.
Soon after, the bell for class rang.
Snape picked up the list and paused for a moment after seeing Albert's name, then looked away and continued calling out the names.
"The preparation of potions is a precise and strict process. Many people will not believe that it is actually magic." Snape's voice was cold, like the chilly wind in winter. His indifferent face and emotionless voice made the students in the classroom dare not act naughty in class.
"Every year, I always meet a few idiots who burn through the cauldron." Snape looked around the students in the classroom and said coldly, "I don't expect you to truly understand the beauty of potions. I just hope that those idiots are not among you."
After Snape finished his opening remarks, the class fell silent.
"Anderson!" said Snape suddenly, "What would I get if I added powdered narcissus root to an infusion of wormwood?"
Albert exchanged glances with Lee Jordan, shrugged and stood up. He could feel the whole class looking at him, but he was not nervous at all and answered Snape's question neatly:
"Got a very powerful sleeping pill, it's called the Water of Life and Death."
"If I ask you to find me a bezoar, where would you look?" Snape strode to Albert's side, exerting invisible pressure on him.
"Bezoar is a kind of stone taken from the stomach of a cow. It has a very strong detoxifying effect." Albert said expressionlessly.
"Then what is the difference between Aconitum naviculatum and Aconitum damicornis?"
"Aconitum naviculatum and Aconitum damicornis are the same plant, also collectively known as Aconitum."
"Copied verbatim from a book," said Snape contemptuously, "but essentially correct."
Albert sat down again, and it seemed that he had successfully passed Snape's questioning.
Lee Jordan next to him secretly gave a thumbs up, and Fred and George behind him were trying hard not to laugh.
In fact, they all guessed that Snape's questions would not be difficult for Albert at all.
"What are you waiting for, why don't you write all this down?" Snape returned to the podium and turned to everyone.
The classroom was suddenly filled with the rustling sound of quills and parchment being fumbled with.
"Have you read the whole book?" Sana whispered. She admired Albert for being able to answer Snape's questions.
Anyone with a discerning eye could see that Snape was looking for trouble with Albert.
Albert did not answer, but raised his index finger to his mouth as a gesture of silence, then raised his finger and pointed at Snape.
Snape stared at Shanna unhappily and said coldly: "Don't talk in class, you'll get one point for talking in Gryffindor."
In fact, it was definitely not just Sana who was speaking. The Gryffindor students had already realized that the Potions Professor was targeting their own house.
What just happened is the best example. Albert's answer was perfect. At least in other classes, other professors would at least give Gryffindor five extra points, but Snape did not.
It is said that Snape only favors his own students, and now it seems that this is not false.
Albert didn't care whether he got extra points or not. He was secretly sizing up the Potions Professor in front of him, comparing him to the Severus Snape in his memory:
Thin, hooked nose, gloomy, and greasy hair
Well, the hair may have just been washed!
To sum up in Tom's words: Snape really doesn't look like a good person.
