Before the end of the Duelling Club, Lee Jordan was unable to realize his wish of beating Lockhart.
The Defense Against the Dark Arts professor seemed to have seen through Lee Jordan's sinister intentions. Every time he asked for guidance, Lockhart pretended not to hear him and ignored him.
On the way back to the Gryffindor common room, Lee Jordan complained about this a lot, but no one wanted to listen to him. Everyone was talking about Harry Potter being a Parseltongue, and even when they returned to the common room, they would look around for Harry Potter first.
"Is it true that Harry Potter is not the heir of Slytherin?"
Lee Jordan, who had just sat down, started talking about what happened in the Dueling Club.
There's no way around it. Parseltongue is one of the symbols of Slytherin, so it's not surprising that everyone has this idea.
“Shut up!”
Fred stuffed the cookie into Lee Jordan's mouth, trying to quiet him.
“Everyone is very curious.”
Lee Jordan took a bite of his cookie and muttered indistinctly.
The next moment, this guy turned into a canary.
"It's the damn canary biscuits again." Lee Jordan couldn't help complaining: "Don't give me that stuff again."
"What do you think?" George threw the question directly to Albert.
"The heir of Slytherin should be a Parseltongue." Albert drank the hot cocoa in the cup and analyzed calmly: "The Harry Potter incident gave me an inspiration."
"What inspiration?" the three asked in unison.
"The symbol of Slytherin is a snake. Anything related to the heir of Slytherin is very likely to be related to snakes. Parseltongue is one of them. Perhaps Parseltongue is needed to open the Chamber of Secrets. The monster in the Chamber of Secrets is also likely to be related to snakes. Monsters related to snakes are rare."
"You make a lot of sense." Fred nodded. As expected of Albert, he has a sharp mind.
"It feels like we are one step closer to the truth of the matter." Lee Jordan gave Albert a thumbs up.
"Do you have a suspected target?" George suddenly asked.
"Yes, we do have a suspect." Albert nodded in acknowledgment, "But if we can't find the secret room, it's useless even if we have a suspect."
"What is it?"
The three of them were very curious about this.
"A terrible monster called a basilisk." Albert raised his hand and pointed to a book on the bedside table. "The basilisk is very dangerous, but the heir of Slytherin should be able to control the basilisk using Parseltongue."
“Oh my God!”
The three of them turned to the page with the bookmark and couldn't help but exclaim.
"I know what you want to say, but..." Albert made a hushing gesture, "Remember not to talk nonsense about this matter. The principal and professors should have been investigating this matter. At present, Harry Potter is indeed a big suspect, but I still think it was not him who did it."
"Besides, as long as the petrified students return to normal, we can identify the culprit." After drinking the hot cocoa, Albert soaked his feet in hot water, reapplied the ointment, wrapped the bandage on them, and went to bed.
However, several of his roommates were destined to suffer from insomnia tonight.
Of course they believed in Albert's judgment, but after knowing that there was a snake hiding in the castle, they felt inexplicably uneasy.
Several people gathered together and whispered for a long time. Finally, they remembered that the heir of Slytherin seemed to only attack Muggle wizards, and they couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
The three of them were pure-blood wizards. Albert, who was born in a Muggle family, was obviously in a more dangerous situation than them. He could remain so calm now, so what was he afraid of
Then, unable to sleep, they began to discuss whether they should raise a rooster in the dormitory for Albert's safety.
What they didn't know was that Albert had actually asked the house-elves to raise several roosters.
…
Ever since Harry Potter revealed himself to be a Parseltongue at the Duelling Club, his reputation has become very bad.
There was no way. The Parseltongues in history were too notorious. Everyone almost instinctively avoided him, as if Harry was carrying some terrible and deadly bacteria, or that he would bar his fangs and spit out venom when he spoke.
"What's wrong with your foot?" Hermione noticed that Albert walked in a strange way.
"Someone stepped on him." Albert said casually, and then changed the subject: "Is Harry Potter really a Parseltongue?"
Hermione didn't want to talk about this topic here, and they all noticed that other people around them were listening to the conversation.
"I'm not doubting that Harry is the heir of Slytherin," Albert said to Hermione, "I just doubt that only a Parseltongue can open Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets."
Ron, who was playing wizard chess next to him, couldn't help but secretly complain: Aren't you suspecting that Harry is the heir of Slytherin
"You probably didn't understand what I meant." Albert looked at Hermione, who looked stunned, and reminded her, "Why didn't anyone find Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets before?"
Before Hermione could answer, Albert continued, "Because they are not Parseltongues, they cannot find the Chamber of Secrets, but Harry Potter is different. He may be able to find Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets and use Parseltongue to open it."
Hermione and Ron stared at Albert blankly, and for a moment they were unable to recover from the meaning of Albert's words.
"However, if you find the secret room, do not enter without permission. Be sure to ask the professors for help." Albert turned around and left, adding, "I know you are not planning to go back during the Christmas holiday."
"What does he mean?"
Ron asked after he checkmated Hermione's king with his knight.
"He probably means that Parseltongue is the key to opening the Chamber of Secrets." Hermione thought for a moment and said, "Perhaps we should take action."
In fact, Hermione had guessed it a long time ago, but she didn't expect Harry to be a Parseltongue.
"What's the meaning?"
"Try to find the location of the Chamber of Secrets." Hermione lowered her voice and said, "This is probably the hint Albert gave us just now!"
"But do you know the location of the Chamber of Secrets?" Ron asked unhappily.
Hogwarts Castle is not small. It takes an indefinite amount of time to find the castle. Besides, there is a scary monster hidden in the chamber of secrets.
To be honest, Ron didn't want to provoke the monster in the secret room at all. It was not a terrifying existence that they could fight against.
Not long after, Harry came back, looking very grumpy.
He had just had a huge argument with Justin Finch-Fletchley, who thought he had ordered the snake to attack him at the Duelling Club.
"It's pointless to argue with him." Hermione said after listening to Harry's complaints: "Justin Finch-Fletchley has already determined that you are the heir of Slytherin. No matter how you explain, you can't change his opinion. It will only make both parties more unhappy."
"But… "
"Don't waste your breath," Hermione comforted. "When the truth comes out, you can ask Justin Finch-Fletchley to apologize to you. If he has the courage to apologize to you."
"That's not something you would say!" Ron was a little surprised by Hermione's words.
"I learned it from Albert. He never argued with me about Professor Lockhart." Hermione's expression was very strange. "Every time I talked to Albert about Lockhart, he just smiled and never expressed his opinion.
Hermione actually knew that Albert believed that the contents of Lockhart's book were all fabricated, not Lockhart's personal experiences.
He is not as great in person as he is in the books.
Although she was reluctant to admit it, Hermione's intuition told her that Albert's guess was most likely correct, especially after seeing Lockhart's poor performance in the Dueling Club.
"I think Albert is quite sensible," said Ron dryly. He and Harry both knew that Hermione admired Lockhart, and there had been several times when both sides had been unhappy because of that guy.
"We'd better see if we can get any useful information from Malfoy first. If not, let's try to find Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets." Harry didn't like the method of using Parseltongue to find the Chamber of Secrets. He suspected that if someone saw him looking for the Chamber of Secrets, things might get worse.
