Daily Life at Hogwarts

Chapter 625: Be prepared

Views:

After learning that Hermione had revealed the Riddle diary to Albert, Harry initially expected Albert to bring them some good news. However, more than half a month had passed, and Albert still had no movement, as if nothing had happened.

To say I'm not disappointed would be a lie.

However, Harry also knew that it was a bit foolish to pin his hopes on others.

The annual Wizard Card Game finals were about to begin, and several of Harry's roommates couldn't stand the temptation of the championship prize and signed up for the Wizard Card Game. However, they were not lucky and were eliminated in the knockout round.

As the organizer, Albert is probably still busy with the competition.

Harry, who had just finished his homework and was about to return to the Gryffindor common room, saw a translucent figure floating across the end of the corridor. He quickly quickened his pace and ran over, calling out to Nick before he completely left.

"Hey, Nick!"

"Good afternoon, Harry."

Nick heard someone calling him, stepped out from the wall, and greeted Harry with a smile. While he was talking, he also pulled the rest of his body out of the solid stone wall, waiting for Harry's next words.

"Nick, I want to ask you something, okay?"

"Oh, all right then," Nearly Headless Nick agreed, "if I knew."

After hesitating for a moment, Harry asked, "Do you know Tom Riddle?"

In fact, Harry wanted to ask Nick who opened Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets fifty years ago, but he felt that he should not be in a hurry.

"Tom Riddle?" Nick repeated the name.

"That was the name of a student from fifty years ago." Harry stated the information he knew.

"A name from fifty years ago?"

Nick frowned, then shook his head in confusion and said, "I'm sorry Harry, I don't know who he is, but I think the name Tom is very common. As far as I know, there is a Gryffindor student who has a fat cat named Tom."

Harry opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.

"Anything else?"

"How much do you know about the legend of Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets? It is said that Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets was opened fifty years ago, and the culprit was expelled from the school." Although Harry no longer had high expectations for this, he still tried hard.

"That really happened," Nick nodded after trying to recall, "It seems a student died at the time, and the principal resigned in the end."

"Do you know who opened Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets?" Harry demanded.

"I don't know, Harry," Nick shook his head.

"Wasn't the heir of Slytherin caught?" said Harry.

"I'm sorry, but I don't remember much. It's been so long. Most ghosts don't remember much unless they have a very deep impression of something." Nick thought for a long time, but in the end he couldn't come up with an idea. "Our minds are usually filled with memories from our lifetime. However, if you want to know, you can ask Headmaster Dumbledore. Maybe he still remembers what happened fifty years ago."

"Sorry to bother you," said Harry.

"Don't worry about it."

Nick left, leaving Harry alone, staring blankly at the spot on the wall where Nick had disappeared.

Just as Harry turned around and was about to leave, he saw Ginny Weasley with a slightly pale face.

"Are you okay?" Harry asked worriedly.

"fine."

Ginny Weasley's mouth trembled slightly, and she turned and walked away quickly.

"You don't look okay," Harry muttered as he watched Ginny disappear.

"Harry, what did you do to Ginny? I just saw her..." Hermione and Albert appeared at the corner of the corridor and asked Harry who was standing there.

"I don't know what's going on." Harry was also confused.

"You didn't reject Weasley's confession?" Albert joked.

"I have something else to do, so I'll leave first." Harry walked away awkwardly.

Hermione couldn't help but roll her eyes at Albert, thinking that his joke was a bit too much.

"Ginny is only a few years old now, how could she possibly..."

"Ginny wrote a Valentine's Day card to Harry." Albert said seriously, "I think it's not difficult for you to see that Ginny Weasley actually admires Potter!"

"How do you know she wrote a Valentine's Day card to Harry? I remember you seemed to..." Hermione was interrupted by Albert before she could finish her words.

"His eyes are as green as a freshly pickled toad..." Albert began to recall the songs that Fred and George had sung in the dormitory, "He is as black and handsome as a blackboard... I hope he is mine, he is really handsome... He is a warrior who conquers the dark devil."

There was a moment of surprise on Hermione's face, and then she looked at Albert with a strange expression, as if she wanted to say something but hesitated.

"Do you think anyone other than Ginny Weasley, who adores Harry Potter, would write him a Valentine's Day card like this?"

Even Hermione had to admit that what Albert said made sense. Although Harry was the so-called savior, he was not as popular among girls in school as Albert was now.

Well, it seems that I have also written a greeting card to Albert. When Hermione thought of this, she suddenly felt a little uncomfortable. She quickly changed the subject and asked, "How is your investigation of Tom Riddle's case going?"

“The situation may be a little complicated.”

"What do you mean it's a bit complicated?" Hermione also realized that Albert had already found out the results of his investigation.

"Since your confidentiality is so poor, it's not appropriate to tell you now." Albert had no intention of telling Hermione about Hagrid for the time being, because Hermione would soon learn about it from Harry.

Well, Albert did do something to Harry.

It should be said that a little bit of memory was changed in Harry's mind, which helped him discover the secret of the diary.

"What exactly did you find out?" Hermione was so excited by Albert's words that she couldn't help but ask.

"The Chamber of Secrets incident fifty years ago." Albert lowered his voice and said, "Tom Riddle captured the heir of Slytherin. The school gave him a so-called special contribution award in order to shut him up."

"Do you know who opened the Chamber of Secrets fifty years ago?" Hermione couldn't help but widen her eyes. It was hard to believe that Albert could find out so much information in such a short time.

He is so awesome!

"That unfortunate guy who was fired is just a scapegoat." Albert noticed Hermione's gaze on him and shook his head. "I can't tell you his name now. I promised to keep it a secret for the time being. I think you will know it soon. So, don't ask anything now. Just wait quietly."

Hermione suddenly felt like hitting Albert.

"By the way, this is for you." Albert suddenly took out a small mirror from his pocket and handed it to Hermione.

"What are you giving me this for?" Hermione asked puzzledly after taking the mirror and looking it up and down.

"If you hear any strange noises when you turn a corner, use a mirror to check the corner of the corridor first." Albert reminded Hermione cryptically to be careful of the basilisk.

"You mean the heir of Slytherin will continue to launch attacks." Hermione quickly realized what Albert meant.

"It's better to be prepared." Albert shrugged and said, "After all, we are all Muggle wizards, so we always need to take precautions."
