It's finally over!
Albert excitedly checked the completion level of the panel tasks. After confirming that Tom Riddle and his "little snake" were completely defeated, he felt relaxed all over.
The attack did put a lot of pressure on Albert.
Since he was a famous Muggle wizard in the school, he was at the top of the attack list and was the most suitable target for Tom Riddle to kill.
God knows when the basilisk will appear and attack him.
If you were petrified, you would be lucky to have escaped. But if you lost your life inexplicably like Myrtle, you would have no place to cry.
Fortunately, it’s all over!
When Albert walked out of Professor McGonagall's office, he saw Fred and George waiting for him in the corridor. Both of them looked at him with ill intent, obviously still brooding over the fact that he had knocked them down with a Stunning Curse.
"It's best to keep this a secret."
Albert didn't wait for the twins to cause trouble for him, so he spoke first: "You don't want Ginny to get into trouble, so it's best to keep this matter secret. Announce to the public that Harry entered the Chamber of Secrets, killed the basilisk, and rescued Ginny who was abducted by the monster."
The twins were stunned, but soon figured out what Albert meant.
That's right, if other students knew that the attack was related to Ginny, her life in school would probably become very difficult.
"Remember to tell Harry, especially Ron." Albert reminded, "Don't let them talk nonsense. It's easy to let something slip if they talk too much."
"By the way, how could Lockhart have overheard your private conversation with Hermione?"
"It was an accident."
"Yes, an accident."
Fred and George echoed in unison. They thought that the unfortunate Lockhart was probably thrown out by Albert as bait, but the mysterious man just didn't take the bait.
"Where are you going?"
The two men saw Albert still moving forward and asked in confusion.
"Go to the school hospital." Albert said without hesitation.
Before Fred and George left, they turned around and teased, "You'd better hurry up, or else all the delicious food will be eaten up. Don't complain then."
"See you later."
When Albert turned into the school hospital, Madam Pomfrey was handing Ginny a glass of sleeping potion, and then talking about Ginny's condition to the Weasleys next to her.
"Mr. Anderson, what's the matter?" Madam Pomfrey asked in surprise.
"I heard something happened to Mr. Lockhart? I came to visit him and Hermione." Albert nodded slightly at the Weasleys and asked, "Is Ginny okay?"
"Ginny was just a little frightened," said Mrs. Weasley. "Thanks to you, if it weren't for you..."
"This is all thanks to Harry," Albert said modestly.
"Anyway, you can come to my house when you have time during the summer vacation." Mr. and Mrs. Weasley gave Albert a hug each and left Hogwarts School together.
"I heard that you found the real culprit of the attack." Madam Pomfrey winked at Albert and said, "Everyone will thank you for your contribution to the school. Minerva told me not long ago that the school might be closed because of this."
Albert looked at Lockhart who was sleeping soundly on the hospital bed and changed the subject.
"The situation is very bad. Someone used a very powerful Forgetfulness Charm on him. Not only did it cause permanent damage to Professor Lockhart's brain, it also made him forget everything." Madam Pomfrey shook her head and said, "He even forgot how to speak and how to walk. He is just like a newborn baby. Oh my God! I have never seen such bad symptoms. I am afraid he will have to spend the rest of his life in St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries."
"The curse of the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor is really terrible." Albert bluntly put the blame on the curse. "Now that I think about it, Professor Broad was so wise that he resigned early and escaped from the curse unscathed. Maybe Professor Lockhart should have resigned earlier as well."
Madam Pomfrey said nothing, but she agreed with Albert's opinion.
There is no way. The fates of the last three Defense Against the Dark Arts professors have been more miserable than the last.
Ronald Smith is missing and there has been no news of him since.
Professor Quirrell was instantly reduced to ashes.
Lockhart was the worst off. He was completely reduced to nothing by the curse and even lost the ability to speak. He was unable to take care of himself. I'm afraid he will be an idiot for the rest of his life.
"By the way, this is a powerful restorative agent made from mandrake roots. It was originally prepared for myself, but I guess it won't be needed now. It should be able to restore the petrified people to normal ahead of time." Albert took out a bottle of potion from his pocket and handed it to Madam Pomfrey.
"You prepared this for yourself?" Madam Pomfrey was a little stunned and felt it was incredible, but she still reached out to take the potion handed over by Albert and opened it to confirm the effect of the potion.
If we want to wait for the mandrake roots to mature and then make a powerful recovery agent that can remove petrification, we will have to wait until at least mid-June.
It is naturally a good thing to be able to restore the people who were petrified by the basilisk.
"Where did you get the potion?" Madam Pomfrey found that the bottle of powerful restorative potion was of high quality.
"I know Mr. Hertog Dagworth, he is a famous potion master." Albert explained: "I asked him to help make a strong recovery potion, just in case."
"However, this bottle of potion may only be enough to wake up one person." Madam Pomfrey probably understood who Albert wanted to lift the petrification curse from.
"I still have some here."
Albert did not embarrass Madam Pomfrey and took out two bottles of powerful recovery potion from his pocket.
Madam Pomfrey looked a little strange. She didn't expect Albert to be so well prepared.
"How can I get her to drink the potion?" Albert came to Hermione's bedside, ready to complete the task of waking Hermione up.
Looking at Hermione's face, I suddenly felt like I was waking up Sleeping Beauty.
Should I... give her a kiss
If there was no one here, Albert wouldn't mind trying to wake up Sleeping Beauty.
"Just drip the potion slowly onto your lips," said Madam Pomfrey, who was doing just that.
Albert imitated Madam Pomfrey and dripped the powerful restorative potion on Hermione's lips.
However, the effect is not obvious.
Albert poked Hermione's cheek with his finger, still stiff.
"It will take some time for the powerful restorative potion to take full effect," Madam Pomfrey explained.
A few minutes later, Hermione blinked and recovered from the petrification. When she woke up, she was startled by the face so close to her.
"Albert!" Hermione almost bumped her head into Albert's face. Just as she was about to scream, a handcuff gently pressed against her lips, making her swallow the words.
"Madame Pomfrey will kick me out of the hospital wing if you continue like this." Albert sat back in the chair beside the bed and said to Hermione, who sat up with a blushing face, with a smile, "The powerful restorative potion is working well."
"I saw..." Hermione recalled what she saw before she was petrified. She couldn't help but put her hands on her chest and trembled all over. "I saw the basilisk. I thought I was going to be killed by the basilisk's eyes."
"Nick saved you, and he was petrified too." Albert said lightly. "Now you don't have to worry, the basilisk has been killed by Harry, and the culprit has been found by me. Hogwarts will soon return to its former peace, and the danger is over."
Albert's voice seemed to have some kind of magic that calmed Hermione down again.
Harry and Ron will definitely be happy that you have recovered. They are preparing to hold a small party. "Albert turned his head and asked Mrs. Pomfrey, "Can Miss Granger go?"
"Wait a few minutes over there while I give her a thorough checkup."
"I know you have a lot of questions, don't worry, I will tell you everything you want to know."
