Chapter 648: See the unknown again

“There really is a secret room.”

Hermione looked at the hidden room and turned to look at Albert. "Can you understand the words on the wall?"

Albert tried his best not to pay attention to the latest panel task, looked at the words on the wall, and said uncertainly: "It's probably Old English."

"Old English?"

Everyone looked at Albert in confusion, then looked at the strange words on the wall. In any case, they had no idea what was going on.

"Does it make any difference?" Harry asked.

"Old English has been basically lost, and few people can understand it." Albert reached out and touched the carvings on the wall. "Perhaps, there are still a few Old English scholars on the Muggle side who can read a small part of the content."

"Is Old English different from modern English?" Ron was completely confused. In his opinion, aren't they both English

"They are basically different things, otherwise how could they be lost instead of evolving into the English we use today?" In fact, Albert could understand some of the text on the wall. It was not Old English but Latin, but it was still somewhat different from the Latin system he mastered.

"Oh, I thought there would be some good stuff hidden in Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets, but it turns out there's just a bunch of nonsense garbage." Fred walked to the pile of weathered scrolls, reached out and flipped through them, and complained with regret.

"It's been a thousand years."

George picked up the scroll, watched it break in his hands, shrugged helplessly, and when he stood up he saw Albert looking around.

"What are you looking for? Are there other secret rooms here?"

"Maybe, maybe... yes!"

Albert walked to a certain wall and stared at the snake symbol on it for a long time. Suddenly he turned around and said to everyone, "It should be here."

"A secret room within a secret room within a secret room?"

Everyone gathered around to watch Harry use Parseltongue to open the entrance, and what came into view was a row of stone steps leading upwards.

“Follow me!”

The stairs were very narrow, only enough for one person to walk through, so Albert walked at the front of the team.

After walking up the stone steps for a few minutes, Albert saw a blue light on the steps in front of him. He quickened his pace and walked to the end of the stairs. His eyes fell on the silver-inlaid torch placed on the side of the wall. The flame was burning fiercely, emitting a blue glow.

"There are torches." Everyone found it incredible.

"What's this?"

"Eternal fire: Gubler's fairy fire." Albert picked up the torch. "It should be a magical item made by Slytherin. It has a history of thousands of years."

"Is it worth money?" Ron couldn't help asking.

"It's valuable, but you need connections, otherwise you'll just be taken advantage of." Albert glanced at Ron and felt that there was something wrong with Ron's style. Why did he look like a poor guy

Well, he was poor.

Well, no wonder you always ask this.

"Harry, come here!"

After Harry opened the entrance, they found that the stone steps led to a room.

"This is..." Everyone immediately guessed where this place was.

Slytherin room

No, it should be Snape's room.

Albert had been here before. On a dark and windy night, he secretly knocked Snape down and took away some raw materials for potions.

"Go back quickly." Albert urged in a low voice, "Don't touch anything here, this is Snape's bedroom."

"Snape's bedroom?"

Everyone became even more curious and looked at the furnishings in the room again. They had never been to Snape's room and wanted to see what the room of that annoying guy looked like.

"Don't be stupid. Do you want Snape to know that someone broke into his room?" Albert stared at the people who were ready to make a move. As he turned back, he reminded them, "There are only a few students left in school during Easter. If Snape really wants to investigate, he can find you out quickly. He is an expert in Legilimency. You can't lie to him."

Everyone was startled and quickly followed Albert back to the secret room. Finally, they cast a spell to clean up all traces of their presence.

"Didn't Snape discover the secret of the secret passage?"

"He doesn't speak Parseltongue, so he definitely doesn't know. Even if he did, he wouldn't be able to open the secret passage."

After Harry closed the secret door again, everyone returned to the original chamber of secrets.

Albert took out his camera, intending to take some pictures and try to translate the documents on the wall.

"Snape knows who's lying?" Harry asked suddenly.

"Yes, he knows. Snape is an expert in Legilimency, and it's easy for him to figure out if someone is lying." Albert stopped taking pictures and said to Harry, Ron and Hermione, "Of course, as long as you don't look into Snape's eyes, you can avoid being easily seen through by him."

Harry suddenly felt bad. He realized that some of his previous actions were stupid. His unyielding gaze gave Snape the opportunity to see through him.

"Is there any way..." Before Harry could finish his sentence, Albert spoke first.

"Yes, as long as you learn the technique of Occlumency, you won't be easily seen through by others."

"Can you teach us?" Hermione looked at Albert expectantly.

"If Legilimency and Occlumency were so easy to learn, we would have mastered them long ago," Lee Jordan said grumpily, "and Fred and George wouldn't have to memorize the key points in their textbooks."

"Shut up." Fred and George glared at Lee Jordan, "You talk as if your grades are good.

"Is there any other solution?"

"If you don't want Snape to see through you, then tell the truth." Albert continued to take pictures, "Since it's the truth, Snape won't think you're lying.

Everyone was speechless.

"Dumbledore also knows Legilimency?" Harry asked again.

"Yes, he can, and he is very good at it." Albert said, "Although Professor Dumbledore is not the best."

"Who's the most powerful, Snape?"

"No, you know that person too." Albert began to check the contents of the photos, then marked them in order and put them away. "Okay, let's go back. I don't think there's anything good here."

Is my guess wrong

At first, Albert thought that Voldemort learned the dark magic from the Chamber of Secrets, but it seems that the situation is not quite what he imagined.

"Just throw this thing here?" Ron pointed at the Gubli Fairy Fire in his hand.

"If you want to take it back to decorate your dormitory, then take it back." Albert said nonchalantly, "Just don't say you found it in the secret room."

"No, you won't be able to sleep well at night if you have this thing." Harry didn't want Ron to really take the Gublerite back.

They took a few more photos with the basilisk, which was a perfect end to their trip to the secret room. Then, they came out of the pipe through magic.

Albert immediately returned to the common room to change his dirty clothes, and took advantage of the free time when everyone was chatting to check the information on the task panel.

Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets.

The task panel shows that it has been completed, but the problem is that the reward for the task is unknown

Well, another mission with unknown rewards.

Albert felt that the real reward was probably the documents left in the secret room and the carvings on the walls, but unfortunately most of them had been destroyed.

I almost forgot, there is also the corpse and shed skin of the basilisk, which may also be part of the mission reward.

The house-elves should be asked to pack them up and take them away when they have time.

Well, there is also the Gublei fairy fire.

Anyway, all that’s left is to find Hufflepuff’s Chamber of Secrets, and then the chambers of secrets of the Big Four will be complete.

Once you have collected all the items, you might be able to trigger a task with rich rewards.
