Chapter 663: French trip

A few days later, Albert visited the McDougals and took Isobel away.

"Where are we going next?" Isobel asked after watching Albert stuff the suitcase into the bag.

"Diagon Alley." Albert said without hesitation: "We have to meet up with Mr. Budd first. He has a private transnational Floo network that can secretly lead us to France."

"International Floo Network?" Isobel walked forward and took Albert's arm.

"It's almost ten o'clock. We should go." Albert put the pocket watch into his pocket and used Apparition to leave Isobel's door.

The two appeared in Diagon Alley and soon found Professor Budd chatting with Tom at the bar counter of the Leaky Cauldron.

"I hope we didn't keep you waiting too long."

Albert went forward to greet Professor Budd.

"No, I just got here too."

Bud finished his drink, paid the bill, and left the Leaky Cauldron with Albert and Isobel. They walked along the street and came to an old apartment.

"Wizards usually don't focus on the Muggle world. As long as they don't cause trouble, they won't even notice these problems." Professor Bard led the two into the house, greeted an elderly administrator, and took them into a room. The room was full of dust, as if no one had cleaned it for a long time, but there were a lot of bookshelves.

"What if the apartment is demolished?" Albert asked with a smile.

"No, this apartment is currently hanging under my door. No one will demolish it without my consent." Professor Budd pulled open the bookshelf with pulleys and asked with a smile, "Can you see the hidden secret room?"

"Well, I see, those bookshelves are used to hide traces of magic?" Albert immediately guessed the reason.

"Where's Isobel?"

The girl stared at the wall carefully and touched it with her hand, but she didn't find anything unusual.

"You're making progress faster than I thought." Professor Budd sighed, and then consoled him, "It's normal not to notice any traces of magic. Usually only a very small number of highly skilled wizards will notice these details."

"That doesn't sound like comforting words," Isobel muttered.

Bard raised his wand, tapped the wall three times rhythmically, and whispered something.

A door similar to the one leading to Diagon Alley appeared out of nowhere in front of them. When the three of them pushed the door open and walked in, they found themselves in a room filled with blue firelight. There were seven fireplaces on the wall of the room, with the countries they led to marked in English.

"When we were building the international Floo network for the Ministry of Magic, we secretly built a place like this for ourselves." Professor Budd said calmly. "Some secrets of the Wildsmith family will gradually be revealed to you, but they all need to be kept secret from the outside world."

"Is it okay for me to know?"

"You are the heir candidate, so it's okay to know, but others can't, and they can't tell anyone. Of course, you need a password to open this place, and I will tell you later." As he said that, Bud took out a Muggle matchbox from his pocket and threw it to Albert, "You should be able to use this!"

"Oh, by the way, Albert is not yet an adult." The girl was stunned for a moment, and seemed to have thought of something, and muttered softly, "It's really troublesome that I can't use magic."

Albert took a lot of effort to light the firewood in the fireplace.

"Your destination is: 93 Wizard Street." Professor Budd reminded, "Give my regards to Mr. Kenner."

"Let me go first."

As Albert spoke, he grabbed a handful of Floo powder and threw it into the fireplace, then stepped into the rising green flames.

After a long spin, Albert felt himself fall heavily into the fireplace.

“I hate this feeling!”

The long rotation made him dizzy and nauseous.

After Albert got up from the ground in a panic, he quickly moved to the empty seat next to him to make room for Isobel.

The cross-border Flying Network is indeed very convenient, but it does have some side effects.

Isobel soon fell into the fireplace. Although she had passed the Apparition test, she still couldn't adapt to the dizziness caused by the long journey.

"Are you okay?" Albert reached out and helped Isobel up, while looking around. They came to a slightly dim room, perhaps Wildsmith's base in France.

At this time, the door of the room was opened, and an old bald wizard walked in. He looked at the young couple in front of him and said in fluent English: "Welcome to France."

"Mr. Kenna?" Albert asked tentatively.

"Yes, I received news that someone will use the international Floo network to come here." The elderly Kenner wizard pointed to the sofa next to him and suggested: "You can sit over there and rest for a while. Using the international Floo network is not a pleasant thing."

"I couldn't agree more."

"By the way, no one has used this place for a long time." The old bald wizard looked Albert up and down and asked suspiciously, "Are you Bard's grandson?"

"I am his student." Albert thought for a moment and added, "He is my relative."

"Oh, I remember now. You are Albert Anderson." The bald wizard muttered, "I didn't expect you two were actually relatives. The newspaper also said that you are a Muggle wizard. Damn it, I knew the newspaper was unreliable."

After the two of them recovered from their trip on the Floo Network, Kenner led them out of the secret room. The entrance to the secret room was a cabinet. When they walked out, the wall returned to its original state and the cabinet was moved back to its original position.

"You can use the Floo network here to travel to various places in France. Excuse me, where are you planning to go?" Kenna handed the box of Floo powder to Albert.

"Nicholas Village!" Albert handed the box of Floo powder to Isobel and said teasingly with a smile, "Don't call the wrong name. If you disappear, I don't know where to find you."

Isobel couldn't help rolling her eyes, walked to the fireplace, and threw the Floo powder into the flames. After the green flames rolled up in the fireplace, she walked straight into the fire, shouted "Nicholas Village" and disappeared.

"I have to go now. Sorry to bother you!" Albert nodded slightly at the old man, grabbed some flying powder and threw it into the fireplace. He disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"What a polite little guy." Kenner put away the flying powder, took out a two-way mirror from his pocket and contacted Bud.

When Isobel walked out of the fireplace, her attention was immediately drawn to the town in front of her.

Not far in front of them was a square with statues of the Flamel couple in their youth.

"Welcome to Nicola Village!" Albert said to Isobel with a smile, "This is a famous wizard town in France."

"It's quite nice here." Isobel said, looking around.

"Let's go."

Albert pulled out a silver card from his pocket, glanced at the address on it, and swept his eyes across the street. Then he took Isobel's hand and walked towards the location of Nico's house in his memory.

When the two appeared on the street, some people cast curious glances at them. What made Albert feel incredible was that a young man and woman actually ran up to him to shake hands, saying that they were Albert's fans, which made him feel a little embarrassed.

Albert looked at Isobel who was laughing beside him and said unhappily: "Stop laughing and keep up!"

The two came to a house. Albert went forward and knocked on the door. After a house-elf opened the door, he handed a silver card covered with patterns to the house-elf.

"You two, please come in!"

The house elf took the card and opened the hidden door for the two of them.

"No matter how many times you see it, it's still magical." Albert took Isobel's hand and walked into the door.

Behind this hidden door is the real residence of the Flamel couple.

Albert decided to learn from Mr. Nico how to set up a safe house.

"Long time no see, Albert. And this one, I think she must be Miss Isobel you mentioned!" Nico appeared in front of Albert without warning, and led the two into the entrance with a smile.

"Those two pairs of glasses really helped me a lot last time!" Albert introduced Isobel with a smile, "This is Mr. Nicolas Flamel, the greatest alchemist in history."

"It's an honor to meet you." Isobel nodded slightly to Nicolas Flamel.

"Oh, don't be so unfamiliar. Perenelle is making you your favorite black tea." Nico asked again: "You should have brought your luggage, right?"

"I have it," said Albert.

"That's good." Nico nodded in satisfaction. "Then stay here for a while and chat with us two old men. It's been a while since we have had any guests."
