Chapter 675: got engaged

"So... we're engaged?"

Isobel lay quietly on the bed, slowly raised her left hand, spread out her five fingers in front of her eyes, stared at the silver ring on her ring finger, still feeling a sense of unreality.

A simple engagement ceremony.

Neither the family nor friends of either party were present.

The Nicols were the only witnesses to the engagement, and they held a very small party in the hall of the Flamel house.

Now that I think about it, it seems incredible.

"What are you thinking about?" Albert pushed open the door and asked with a smile as he looked at the girl lying on the bed staring at the ring in a daze.

"It's nothing, I just find it unbelievable. Mom would be furious if she knew that I was secretly engaged to you." Isobel withdrew her arms and sighed softly, still worrying about how to solve the problem.

"Don't worry, Mrs. McDougal won't be angry." Albert comforted softly.

"How do you know?" Isobel couldn't help but rolled her eyes at Albert. She was a natural master of mind control and had a better grasp of people's hearts than anyone else. How could she not know what her mother was thinking? Although she didn't object to their relationship, she would definitely be angry if she knew that her daughter was secretly engaged to someone else and didn't inform her!

"In fact, Mrs. McDougal already knows about this."

Albert told Isobel what Daisy and Herb had done while Isobel was looking at him in astonishment.

Shortly after Albert went to France, the Andersons asked Sheila to send a letter to Mrs. McDougal, inviting her to their home to discuss their engagement and marriage.

"You didn't even tell me!"

Isobel threw Albert onto the bed with her claws bared. “You know, I’ve been worrying about how to explain our engagement to my mother.”

"Isn't this a surprise for you?" Albert blinked innocently, "They thought it would be appropriate for the Flamels to host the engagement ceremony."

"Your family seems a little anxious!" Isobel asked a little confused.

"They knew about my prophecy and wanted us to leave England after we got married and go abroad to escape the coming storm," Albert explained.

"You told them?"

Isobel was very surprised by the Andersons' actions.

You have to know that their son is still a child, and he is still several years away from adulthood. How afraid are they that their son won't be able to find a wife

"Yes."

Albert turned his head to look at Isobel's little face and said with a smile, "They probably think that after marriage, I will have concerns and will focus on my family and will not take risks easily. That's why they are urging me to marry you quickly, and then after I graduate from school, my whole family will leave this troubled place of England together."

"You didn't tell them that you didn't plan to leave England," Isobel asked, raising her eyebrows slightly.

"Yes. But they have their own ideas, don't they?"

Albert was well aware of his family's little thoughts, but he didn't take them too seriously. He was not an impulsive person and wanted to survive more than anyone else.

After all, the good life has just begun. Who would be so stupid as to risk their own life for excitement

"Well, now that we're engaged, you're not allowed to mess around with other girls." Isobel suddenly remembered something and poked Albert's chest with her finger to remind him, "I'm afraid your wishes for your two or three girlfriends will be dashed."

"You make it sound like I'm always having affairs." Albert protested dissatisfiedly. He was a very loyal man. If he ever said he was having affairs, it would be a pure slander against him.

Otherwise, how could he be engaged to Isobel so early

"Miss Catherine from the United States seems to be interested in you. Miss Catherine is a great beauty!" Isobel counted on her fingers and began to help Albert count them. "And Miss Louise, who I met a while ago. Don't think I can't see that the girl with Veela blood has been fascinated by your handsomeness, talent and fame."

"We are just ordinary pen pals." Albert reminded silently.

"That's just your wishful thinking." Isobel snorted disdainfully and continued, "And my poor stupid sister Katrina, she has always had a crush on you. I dare say that as long as you use some sweet words, you will be able to win her over soon."

"If you dare to have any improper thoughts about Katrina!" Isobel's eyes suddenly became sharp when she talked about her sister.

"Ahem, you think too much. Katrina is your sister, and she's not as pretty as you." Albert was helpless. He and Louise were just ordinary pen pals, and the number of times they had met could be counted on one's fingers. He and Catherine were just partners, and he had never thought of going to the United States again.

As for Katrina, Albert no longer had any ideas after he hooked up with Isobel. Although sisters... ahem, it was obvious that it was impossible, and he was not the kind of person who liked to commit suicide.

"Humph! There is no such thing as a pure boyfriend-girlfriend relationship in this world. As long as you get to know each other and spend a long time together, there will always be some changes." Isobel saw this kind of thing very clearly. "And your female friend from Gryffindor, I think her name is Hermione Granger, I dare say when she is older..."

Albert stared at his fiancée in amazement. Although he was reluctant to admit it, Isobel's last words made so much sense.

"According to what you said, shouldn't we get engaged later?" Albert said jokingly, "In this way, maybe we can have a chance to make two or three girlfriends before getting married!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Albert's face was held by two hands and then rubbed continuously.

"That's a pity. We're already engaged." The girl reminded with a smile, "I'm afraid your wish will be shattered."

Isobel also thought it was a good idea to get engaged in advance. After all, Albert still had to stay at Hogwarts for two years, and God knew what would happen during that time.

As Albert began to show his talent and achieve success, coupled with his gentle and peaceful temperament and pockets full of Galleons, he looked like a sweet cake, making countless girls want to pounce on him and take a bite.

However, Isobel obviously had no intention of sharing this sweet cake with anyone.

After their lips parted, Albert suddenly said, "By the way, the letter from school has arrived. I am now a prefect, so I don't have to use the prefect's bathroom secretly anymore."

"When are we going back to England?" Isobel changed the subject.

"In two days, we have to tell Mr. Nico about this in advance, and then go to Diagon Alley to buy the things we need for this semester." Albert did not plan to stay at Nico's house until the end of summer vacation. He always needed to take time to go back and accompany his family.

After all, once he graduated from school, there would be less time like this, and Isobel was clearly worried about her family.
